Seeing the tardy system quest pop up, and then glancing at the vampiric girl turned to ash behind him, Li Qingyuan sighed helplessly.
"Savior of humanity, huh!"
In this movie the werewolves and vampires were effectively the hunted—researched and exterminated. If he had enough time, he wouldn't even need to lift a finger; a few calls to the human authorities would do the job.
Indeed, after his severe interrogation earlier, the vampiric girl had no backbone compared to the werewolf in the subway—she'd spilled everything she knew in an instant.
The plot he'd dropped into was the laziest werewolf-and-vampire world possible—a.k.a. Black Night Legend!
The movie tried to explain the supernatural with pseudo-science: Alexander Corvinus was an ancient Hungarian warlord whose body fused with a plague virus, granting him superhuman strength and longevity. That trait passed to his three sons; two of them—Marcus and William—were bitten by bats and wolves, and their blood combined with the virus to create the progenitors of vampires and werewolves.
As a plot device that could be smoothed over—it was ridiculous, but at least internally consistent.
What was truly exasperating, though, was how utterly pathetic the vampires and werewolves in this movie were.
Vampires feared sunlight, werewolves feared silver, and with modern firearms the whole species war turned into a battle of bullets rather than supernatural power. Vampires used silver-coated bullets, and werewolves had developed UV rounds.
Such an absurd setup turned the magical war between werewolves and vampires into nothing more than a gangster shootout. If the film didn't occasionally show a werewolf transforming, viewers would think it was a straight-up Hollywood action flick.
Alexander Corvinus was the big boss in the second movie. From the vamp's interrogation, Li Qingyuan figured the current time was around the start of the first film.
So the enemies matching his system's criteria in Budapest should be the vampires tied to the Coven and the werewolf tribes living in the sewers. After all, Alexander Corvinus seemed to come from Romania.
The dark, long-legged figure he'd seen on the subway was probably the series' female lead, Selene.
Too bad.
He glanced at his quest and mentally crossed it out.
He'd been rather interested in the so-called "English rose" heroine, but the task was clearly steering him toward villainy.
Eradicating 95% of vampires and werewolves was essentially exterminating entire races within the city!
Apart from their main bases, many lone vampires and werewolves wandered the streets—like the vamp girl he'd just killed. She couldn't handle the Coven's supplied animal blood or synthetic plasma, so she'd gone solo to a remote bar to hunt. She ate so little that one feeding lasted her half a month—hardly drawing attention.
But now…

"Going solo is risky—entrepreneurship requires caution!"
"The Coven seems to be a manor out in the suburbs, and the werewolves' sewer lair is apparently hard to find." Rubbing his temples as he sifted through memory, Li Qingyuan began planning his approach.
To exterminate two magical races—each individual far stronger than him—this quest didn't seem trivial.
Yet somehow, the task didn't look difficult at all.
True, even the vamp girl could utterly overpower him on attributes, let alone vampire elders or werewolf chiefs. But the weaknesses of these two races were glaringly obvious. Vampires collapsed before UV rounds; werewolves were finished by silver.
Besides, these species squandered their supernatural reputations—lacking any real powers, they were merely biologically superior brutes.
So in the original plot, once human governments learned of these two odd races, they nearly annihilated them in a few short years. If the director hadn't conveniently dumbed down the human leadership for a sequel, the heroine might not even have had a role.
With a crate of Stinger missiles in hand, blasting their strongholds would be child's play. These were Stark Industries' engineered warheads—no matter how strong the werewolves' regeneration, anything caught in the blast was done for.
The real problem would be finding their bases. Budapest—Hungary's capital—spans over five hundred square kilometers and houses nearly two million people. Locating a werewolf colony hidden in the sewers would be tough.
Well—one step at a time. For now he needed to rest; it had been a long night, and he was exhausted.
As for the so-called "perfect blood" most novels chase? Frankly, he didn't think much of it.
Look at these werewolves and vampires—what a joke. No matter how you enhance such low-tier bloodlines, the ceiling is limited. Perfect blood from such a low-level plane wouldn't be worth his time.
It wouldn't even compare to the biogenic serums developed by companies like Oscorp. He'd have to be idiotic to leave a fortune behind to chase this junk.
Still—small things add up. Once the mission's nearly done and he headed back, he could extract some vampire and werewolf blood, maybe the hero's perfect blood too, and bring samples home. Even if he didn't use them, giving them to Oscorp or other bio-experts would be a decent souvenir.
