Quiet Steps, Loud Hearts
She did not ask.
Victor took a breath, a really long one and made himself relax. He pushed the tension down inside him. When he spoke again his voice was calm and steady. Too calm and steady. Like a knife being put back in its place.
He said "Alright". Then he said "Lets go now". He wanted to go so they could get moving. The person said they should go then. He was ready to go with the people. He told them to go with him.
Julia tilted her head to the side. She said "This way please". She did it in a really calm way.
She turned around. Her robes made a soft sound as they touched the stone path while she walked. The garden was very quiet. She took each step carefully and it looked nice. You could hear the sound of her heels for a moment. Then it was gone, lost in the quiet of the garden. The robes whispered softly against the stone path as she moved ahead in the garden.
Victor stayed right where he was, for a while. Victor did not move from that spot.
