It really felt like this was going to happen along. The whole thing felt inevitable.
Sasha was already pulling away. Hiding inside her own little world.
The change happened quietly so quietly that you had to be paying attention to see it. Her breathing got slower. She let out a breath that she had been holding in her chest. Her shoulders moved back but it was not because she was tense it was because she was, in control. The line of her back got straight. She stood up straight like she had learned to do over the years not just because it felt natural.
