It wasn't a surprise. After all, if he couldn't exempt himself from the sorcery of mere mortals, there would be no point in fighting the Gods.
The most important matter, of course, was the Authorities. Luo Guang quietly sensed the changes. As expected, slaying the two Gods had granted him two different Authorities. He naturally understood how to use them, but the full extent of their power would require practical testing.
Ddraig also noticed the change in Luo Guang's power. Its voice trembled with shock: "Is this why you wanted to slay the Gods? Those two streams of power that just flowed in are utterly terrifying, not below a Devil King!"
"These are the spoils of defeating a God?" Ddraig found it incredible. "If the Chief Gods knew, you'd probably instantly become an enemy of all the pantheons."
"Becoming an enemy doesn't matter, but this is merely a characteristic of this world, not an ability of mine," Luo Guang explained calmly.
If he could truly gain an Authority by slaying a God in every world, he would have started a long time ago. After all, the Gods in the DXD world vary in strength. The most powerful Gods can reach the level of a Transcendent, but weaker ones might only be at the level of a High-Class Devil. If he were to target the eight million Gods of Japanese mythology, the vast majority outside the Takamagahara pantheon would be below a High-Class Devil and could be killed with ease.
"Luo Guang, where do we go next?" Aiz asked expressionlessly.
"No rush. Someone will be here to pick us up soon," Luo Guang replied with a faint smile.
Shortly after his words fell, several cars swiftly drove onto the road, which was only just receding from the floodwaters. Although New Delhi was severely damaged, the city had lost most of its functionality, and the resulting losses were astronomical. However, the greatest concern for the local sorcerers was not the city or the suffering of the populace, but that the nation's patron deity, Vishnu, sealed for hundreds of years, had been killed while fighting the awakened Evil God Rahu.
Yet, that wasn't the worst of it. The situation that truly made them feel the sky had fallen was that Vishnu was not killed by Rahu, but by a crimson dragon that intruded on the battlefield. Ordinary citizens couldn't see clearly, but the sorcerers saw it with perfect clarity. Both Vishnu and Rahu were slain by this being, ending the war of mythological reenactment.
This was an outcome no one had anticipated, and it was also the result that concerned everyone the most. Because if an Unrighteous God was killed by a human, it meant that the world was about to see the seventh God-slaying Demon King emerge! The mere thought of it sent shivers down their spines. Especially since it happened on their soil.
"No matter what, we must immediately confirm this!" a bearded sorcerer declared.
If the killer was an Unrighteous God who had concealed its aura, the situation wouldn't be the absolute worst. But if it was truly a human, that was definitively the worst-case scenario. After all, India already had one God Slayer, Marchioness Voban. While the Marchioness often traveled the world and even visited antiquity, she was still the God Slayer they owed allegiance to. If another one appeared, it would not lead to a 'clamshell and snipe fight' where they benefited. The gravest consequence would be a war between two Demon Kings that would engulf the entire nation in conflict. Crucially, they had absolutely no room to intervene.
The motorcade ignored the desperate pleas of the surrounding citizens and quickly arrived at the location where the aura had dissipated. In the center of the ravaged battlefield, a man and a young woman were sitting and talking in a half-destroyed cafe.
The bearded man's heart sank. The aura of the Unrighteous God was clearly gone. At such close range, if there was no reaction, it meant the individual truly was human. But was the God Slayer the man or the girl?
With a respectful expression, they slowly approached.
"May I ask who you are, esteemed sir?"
Luo Guang glanced at them and did not answer, merely releasing a faint wisp of his aura. But even this trace of Juryoku was like an abyss to the sorcerers, profound and bottomless.
There was no mistake. This was the Juryoku that only a God Slayer could possess. Even a fraction of it was more than the mortals of the earth could defy. Although they did not recognize the man before them, expressions of fear and deference instantly appeared on their faces. All the sorcerers ignored the damp, muddy ground and immediately knelt. Their heads were bowed, and their bodies trembled, not daring to look up... It was as if they would remain in that posture until Luo Guang spoke.
Luo Guang sighed internally. The name God Slayer was known across the world. In the eyes of all sorcerers, they were the Demon Kings whose will had to be obeyed unconditionally. The status of a God Slayer was unique in this world. In the DXD world, Devil Kings, Chief Gods, and Fallen Angel Governors could not command this level of deference. The only figure close to it was perhaps the God of the Bible. In other words, a God Slayer was the 'Homelander of Homelanders.'
The New Delhi sorcerers knelt motionless on the ground until they heard Luo Guang's voice: "Go prepare clean rooms and food for me."
"Yes, my Lord!"
To them, these words were a great pardon. It was a good thing for the God Slayer to have a request; the real fear was having no demands and being left to guess. Guessing correctly was fine, but guessing wrong could doom their entire clans. Even without the God Slayer acting, others eager to curry favor would actively step up to serve.
"Also, go to the Bronze Black Cross branch and bring Liliana Kranjcar here."
The sorcerers quickly agreed, then surrounded Luo Guang and Aiz, ushering them into the cars. They swiftly arranged for a hotel that had escaped the damage of the battle. All the guests inside were immediately expelled, every chef was put to work, and the rooms were cleaned inside and out by a dedicated staff.
Not long after this, Liliana, who had returned to her branch, was suddenly surrounded by a mass of local sorcerers.
"What do you want?" Liliana instinctively gripped the hilt of her White Silver Masterpiece sword. She assumed the sorcerers had found out about her fight with the cultists and had come to blame her, believing the disaster was her fault.
"I didn't want so much to happen, but I did my best to stop those cultists," she explained.
However, the sorcerers ignored her explanation, their faces cold and serious: "The New King wishes to see you. Come with us."
"Wishes to see me?" Liliana was surprised.
But then, her eyes widened suddenly, and an expression of utter disbelief appeared on her beautiful face.
"Are you saying... the New King?"
