Chapter 90: Searing Sunraze Smash
The Sunne Altar is a key location on Poni Island in the Alola region, situated at the far end of Poni Canyon.
Ryan and his companions landed on the Sunne Altar and saw Tapu Bulu and Tapu Fini circling the floating Cosmoem in a strange dance. Glittering scales and shimmering water droplets swirled around Cosmoem.
"Has it started yet?" Ryan murmured.
"So beautiful!" Rosa said.
"Ryan, do you know what Tapu Bulu and Tapu Fini are doing?" Lillie said, taking Ryan's hand.
"What incredible Pokémon! Are these the four guardian deities of Alola?" Ruby said, looking at the four Tapus.
Ryan asked them to lower their voices and said, "From what I understand, this is a ritual, a ritual for Cosmoem to evolve again."
"Nebby evolves again?!" Lillie exclaimed in shock. "Could it be true what you told me before, Ryan? Nebby is the legendary Solgaleo?!"
"Let's wait and see," Ryan said, then sat down cross-legged and watched the ceremony unfold.
Lillie and the others also sat down on the steps, carefully observing the ritual.
As Tapu Bulu and Tapu Fini finished their dance, Tapu Koko and Tapu Lele flew forward. The four Tapu landed on the four stone pillars of the Sunne Altar and began to chant.
The chant was long and filled with an ancient aura. Then, the power of the four Tapu flowed into the stone pillars beneath them, and the energy traveled along the pathways into the Sun Flute.
As the Sun Flute's energy was activated, it gradually opened, revealing an energy form within that resembled the radiance of the sun. The energy form gradually gathered intense light, shining directly at the center of the Sunne Altar, where Cosmoem floated.
A powerful energy field enveloped Cosmoem, and it gradually began to glow with the light of evolution. As the light shot up into the sky, Cosmoem slowly transformed within the energy, growing into a majestic lion-like form.
"Solgaleo!" Lillie cried, covering her mouth, not wanting to disturb Cosmoem's evolution.
The light faded, and Solgaleo stood majestically, announcing its arrival with a powerful roar.
Ryan walked over, pulled a container from his backpack, poured out a few Poké Beans, and smiled, "You've finally grown up."
Solgaleo affectionately nuzzled Ryan's face with its golden mane, then ate the Poké Beans from his hand.
"Koko," Tapu Koko whispered to Ryan, then handed him a distinctive Z-Crystal. Ryan looked at the Z-Crystal with its unique solar design, shook the Z-Ring on his left wrist, and said, "It doesn't seem to fit."
Tapu Bulu chuckled and waved its hand, causing the Z-Ring on Ryan's left wrist to float in front of it. Then, Tapu Bulu's shell closed, enveloping the Z-Ring within its body. Gently shaking it, Tapu Bulu tossed it to Tapu Fini.
As the four Tapus passed it along, by the time Tapu Lele handed the ring back to Ryan, it had been transformed. Ryan set the Z-Crystal into place, fitting it perfectly.
"Thank you, Tapu Bulu, Tapu Fini, Tapu Lele, and Tapu Koko. With this, Guzzlord will have to return," Ryan said.
Tapu Koko demonstrated the Z-Move pose to Ryan, and the four Tapus dispersed and vanished.
"Ryan, the Tapus are gone. Are you okay?" Rosa asked.
"Of course we're okay. With Solgaleo here, everything's fine," Lillie said confidently. "In some old documents I've seen, Solgaleo was recorded as the Beast that Devours the Sun. How could it not be powerful?"
"The Beast that Devours the Sun?!" Ruby was in awe. Every legendary Pokémon was the stuff of legend.
"Come on up! Let's take care of that Guzzlord!" Ryan said, leaping onto Solgaleo's back. He then recalled Dragonite and Aerodactyl.
Solgaleo also lowered itself, and Lillie and the others climbed onto Solgaleo's back.
"So warm, it feels like sunlight," Lillie said, gently lying against Solgaleo's back, feeling its radiant mane.
"Let's go, Solgaleo!" Ryan called out when the three of them were seated.
Solgaleo roared powerfully, and they leaped into the air as if running, then sprinted through the sky as if walking on solid ground, swiftly heading for Guzzlord's location.
Arriving at the deep crater, Ryan discovered that Island Kahuna Hapu had already arrived, commanding her Mudsdale to battle Guzzlord. Nearby, a massive Kommo-o was also engaged in combat with Guzzlord.
"Get back!" Ryan roared.
Hapu and the Kommo-o immediately retreated without hesitation upon seeing Ryan and Solgaleo.
Ryan, riding Solgaleo, inserted Solganium Z into his Z-Ring, assumed the proper stance, channeling Z-Power through his body, and began unleashing the exclusive Z-Move. Ryan roared, "This is our full power! Searing Sunraze Smash!"
Solgaleo, empowered by the Z-Power, began transforming into its Radiant Sun phase, then suddenly accelerated, charging directly at Guzzlord.
A massive Ultra Wormhole also appeared behind Guzzlord. Solgaleo's powerful impact sent it hurtling directly into the Ultra Wormhole, carrying Guzzlord with it. Of course, this also included Ryan and his group.
"That seems to be the legendary Pokémon Solgaleo?" Hapu exclaimed in shock.
"Um, are Lillie and the others okay?" Mallow asked worriedly.
"They're definitely fine," Sophocles said. "After all, Ryan is so strong, and with Solgaleo's help, don't worry."
Let's not talk about the group outside for now. Ryan and his companions rushed into the Ultra Wormhole, instantly feeling as if they had entered a bizarre tunnel dotted with circular portals emitting a variety of colors.
"Everyone, help find the white portal!" Ryan shouted.
Guzzlord had now realized what was happening and was relentlessly attacking Solgaleo. Solgaleo couldn't accurately locate Guzzlord's Ultra Space on its own. Fortunately, Ryan had studied the Ultra Beasts and knew that Guzzlord's Ultra Space was Ultra Ruin within the white portal, so he quickly asked them to help.
"Celebi, use Leech Seed to restrict its movement!" Ryan shouted.
Celebi immediately released a handful of Leech Seeds, which landed on Guzzlord and immediately sprouted into vast vines that bound it.
Solgaleo, having a chance to catch its breath, quickly accelerated and rushed forward.
"Ryan, is that where it is?" Lillie asked, pointing to a white portal.
"No," Ryan said after taking a look. "It's a place with many ruined buildings."
"There!" Ruby said immediately.
Ryan looked and saw a white portal in the distance. As to whether it was Ultra Ruin, Ryan wasn't certain, but he saw that another Guzzlord was emerging from the portal!
"Solgaleo, hit it!" Ryan shouted loudly.
Solgaleo also roared and rushed towards the Guzzlord that was crawling out. After a fierce impact, Ryan and his team successfully knocked both Guzzlords back, but Solgaleo also rushed into this Ultra Space.
