Jasmine's POV
The hallway was tight. Fluorescent lights flickered faintly above, casting long, harsh shadows across the walls. The air smelled faintly of antiseptic and tension. Security held Zara, but she did not move like someone being escorted… she moved like a predator, sharp and unpredictable.
Ares' hand rested lightly on the small of my back. "Stay close." he whispered.
I nodded. My heart pounded, but I kept my voice calm. "We can handle this. Together."
Zara's eyes snapped to us. There was fire there… wild, dangerous fire. "You think you've won?" she hissed, her voice low but venomous. "You think exposing me is the end?"
Ares stepped closer. "It is the end, Zara. For your games."
She smirked. Her hands twitched as if itching to pull something from her coat. "You really don't understand, do you? I planned for every outcome. Every single one."
I felt a chill creep up my spine. "What are you talking about?"
