HISD Chapter 118 I'm Going to Fight the Avengers
New York, private airport.
In the middle of the runway square, Vision Yi Meng stood between the two opposing Avengers factions, attempting to stop them.
No—that wasn't really "mediating." It was more like:
'Instead of fighting each other and ruining your friendships, why don't you team up and take me down instead?'
On both sides—whether Iron Man's camp or Captain America's camp—every hero froze in shock.
No one had ever seen this kind of "mediation" before.
Such a bizarre idea could only come from Vision Yi Meng.
"Vision, are you sure you want to stop us?"
Tony's patience had already run out. If it had been anyone but Yi Meng, he would have fired already.
"Vision, stand down!" Captain America warned instead. "Even you can't take all of us at once."
"How do you know if we don't try?"
Yi Meng smiled lightly and spread his hands. "Either way, you're not getting past me. If you want to fight, you'll have to go through me first."
Among the newer allies, Ant-Man and Spider-Man stood dumbfounded.
"This hero…"
"This guy…"
Both muttered the same thought in their hearts: "He didn't come to cool things down—he came to throw gasoline on the fire!"
The rest of the Avengers didn't say it, but resentment stirred in their hearts.
They were seasoned superheroes, each with unique skills and powers. Every one of them carried pride. Now Vision Yi Meng was basically challenging the entire Avengers lineup by himself.
Take on an entire Avengers team alone? Who did he think he was?! Even Loki back in New York hadn't been this arrogant!
"Vision, I really will attack now!"
Tony's voice was low with anger. He raised his gauntlet, the repulsor glowing with blinding white energy.
Behind him, War Machine, Black Widow, Black Panther, and Spider-Man tensed, all ready to fight.
"Vision, move aside! We'll come at you too if you don't!" Captain America called, though he also stepped forward, raising his vibranium shield defensively.
Beside him, Hawkeye, Falcon, Winter Soldier, and Ant-Man all prepared themselves, eyes sharp.
"Enough talking. If we're destined to fight, then words are meaningless."
Yi Meng floated smoothly into the air, his vibranium body ignoring gravity, eyes calmly surveying the eight heroes before him.
"Come on, then."
The moment his words fell—
Engines roared, guns cracked, bowstrings snapped, boots pounded, growls echoed, metal clashed.
On both sides, the Avengers charged, but instead of each other, every attack zeroed in on Vision Yi Meng.
…
"Tony, what the hell?!"
War Machine had taken to the air, unleashing heavy fire. But just as the battle began—
Iron Man suddenly turned, his repulsor beam blasting into War Machine's chest!
The impact knocked Rhodey straight out of the sky.
Rhodey was stunned.
Tony was stunned too. "Friday! What are you doing?!"
"Sir… apologies… suit control protocols… have been overridden… Vision has seized system access…"
Friday's voice stuttered as Iron Man's armor moved without Tony's command, lunging toward his fallen ally.
At the same time, Yi Meng dove straight for Captain America.
No attack, no fancy tricks—just a heavy push with his vibranium hands.
"Too fast."
Steve's instincts raised his shield, but the force was overwhelming. Vibranium's shock absorption didn't matter—the strength behind Yi Meng's shove was simply beyond him.
The shield slammed back into his own chest. His legs lifted off the ground, his body bent backward like a launched missile, and he rocketed ten meters before crashing into an airport bus. The entire vehicle crumpled inward.
"Cap!"
"Steve!"
Falcon and Winter Soldier shouted in alarm.
Falcon spread his wings and dove, steel edges sharp as blades slicing the air.
Winter Soldier sprinted forward, metal arm swinging down like a sledgehammer toward Yi Meng's back.
Yi Meng paused just above the ground. His brow gem flashed, a golden laser cutting across the air.
Bucky's eyes widened as his metal arm fell cleanly away, severed with surgical precision.
Falcon barely avoided the beam, but one of his wings was sliced open, sending him spiraling helplessly through the air.
At the same time, Black Widow's bullets, Hawkeye's explosive arrows, and Spider-Man's webs closed in from all sides.
Yi Meng's body blurred, shifting into an illusion. The attacks passed harmlessly through, detonating against the ground behind him.
"What the—my web just phased through him?"
Spider-Man hung in the air, staring at his useless webbing in shock.
Then—before he could blink—Yi Meng's looming figure was already right in front of him, solid and blocking the sun.
"You—!"
Peter's spider-sense screamed. Reflex took over, and he threw a desperate punch.
Don't underestimate that punch—Spider-Man could lift a car, and his fist was like a cannon shell.
But Yi Meng's hand caught it effortlessly.
To Peter, it was like punching solid steel… and yet also like hitting air. His fist was trapped, powerless.
Before he could react, Yi Meng twisted and swung.
Spider-Man spun through the air like a rag doll, slammed down into the same bus Captain America had already destroyed. The vehicle gave way completely, crumpling under the impact.
