The golden light gradually faded, and Blazkowicz stepped from the Warp back into reality, appearing in the Emperor's private chambers.
Before he could speak, his expression changed drastically, and he darted like lightning to the prisoner cart, tearing the steel apart with his bare hands and seizing the genestealer by the throat.
"What did you do?!" Blazkowicz's keen senses detected that the alien's eyes were glazed over, clearly disoriented.
What did it do? Naturally, it deleted its own memories!
In the Warp, the broodlord cautiously observed, attempting to piece together the origins of these humans.
Its objective was not fully achieved, but it gained much.
It learned that the toad was an "Old One," a survivor of a super ancient civilization, and also came to know about the War in Heaven, the C'tan, the Necron, the Warp, and the Chaos Gods.
It could be said that since leaving the Hive Mind and acting independently, the information the broodlord understood was limited to human Hive Cities and historical fragments; it had never viewed this new feeding ground from a macroscopic perspective.
As the old one recounted, a magnificent historical panorama unfolded before the broodlord's eyes. It realized that this galaxy was far more chaotic than it had imagined.
And most importantly, there were gods in the universe, true deities!
During its imprisonment, the broodlord fearfully gathered information, constantly plotting an escape to report these findings to the Hive Mind.
Unfortunately, the human guards were too vigilant, leaving no opportunity to escape.
After following the humans through the teleportation array and returning to the Real Universe, the broodlord understood everything.
It had traveled through time, from the human calendar's 40K era back to the 30K era, and this golden-glowing man with a laurel crown was the best proof!
He was still walking among men, not yet seated on the Golden Throne, guarding humanity as legend foretold.
The broodlord made a decisive move, stimulating hormones to digest its brain and destroy the future memories it carried.
If the future were to be altered because of itself, the broodlord did not know if, in the future, the Hive Mind would still be able to perceive the flash and pinpoint this galaxy's location.
To ensure the future remained unchanged, it had to destroy its memories, preventing humans from acquiring any critical information.
"Heh! Heh! Heh!"
As the memories in its brain dissolved, the broodlord, though gripped by the throat, still let out a human-like, terrifying laugh.
Meanwhile, on the other side, the moment Sintara saw the Emperor, her two toad-like legs pushed hard, leaping to the edge of the chambers, pressing her back against the wall, tears streaming down her face.
After sixty million years, returning to the universe, the first human she saw, was he truly a "human"?
In the old one's vision, beneath that human skin and dazzling radiance, lurked a pitch-black core, constantly spewing destruction and hatred.
Sintara was certain that what she saw, while not yet a god, was absolutely not a human!
If Blazkowicz were not still there, she would have fled immediately!
The scene instantly became somewhat chaotic: an alien gripped by a primarch, an alien in ancient armor, and a fleeing toad-like alien.
In the heart of the Imperium, Terra, within the Emperor's chambers, there were even two kinds of aliens.
Truly a great sacrilege!
The golden-armored custodes guarding the chambers were furious, brandishing their Guardian Spears, activating their disintegration fields, and charging towards the toad-like alien.
"Stand down!" A majestic voice rang out, strictly halting the custodes' movements. "Do not startle our esteemed guest."
Glancing at the unknown alien in Blazkowicz's hand, the Emperor adjusted his robes and walked towards Sintara, kneeling down.
"Esteemed Elder," the Emperor said with a gentle smile, his soft voice full of respect, "I apologize; my servants startled you."
To show his apology, the Emperor extended his right hand, wanting to pull the old one from the corner to his side.
"They didn't startle me," Sintara said, stiffening her neck. After confirming that the "human" before her bore no ill will, she let out a long sigh of relief.
You startled me!
The old one mumbled inwardly, her stiff hand returning the gun to her waist, and she stuck out her tongue to lick the sweat from her face, calming her thumping heart.
She indicated that it was fine, pushed away the broad hand extended by the person before it, and walked back to Blazkowicz's side on shaky legs.
Another big toad!
Harlan clearly saw the figure emerging from the shadow in the corner. Her skin color was different from Prima's, but he was certain they were of the same species.
Malcador quickly ordered the Custodes to leave, then rushed towards the old one, taking three steps at once, soothing her with a gentle voice: "I apologize for startling you."
His gentle, soothing voice barely concealed his excitement: "I truly never imagined that in the universe of today, I would have the good fortune to meet an old one of the universe."
"No, no, no~" Sintara quickly raised her hand, stopping the human's flattery: "The glory of the past is long gone."
Though she said this, the corners of her mouth curved slightly; the respect and flattery from a junior were still somewhat pleasing.
Her mood brightened slightly, and she looked at the human in the hempen robe, a flicker of surprise in her eyes: "A perpetual; I never thought you would have such good fortune."
The old one's eyes pierced through to the essence, naturally recognizing Malcador as an immortal.
"It is both a blessing and a curse," Malcador's smile vanished, his wrinkled face filled with respect and gentleness.
The Imperial Chancellor's heart could not hide her joy; he had not been this excited since the end of the Age of Technology.
A living old one, rarely seen in the mortal world, was a supreme treasure walking the universe.
The Emperor realized it, and the Chancellor realized it too.
If they could gain the help of this ancient race, why would the grand Webway project not succeed? Humanity's chances of escaping the Warp would increase by several folds.
Sintara nodded, her short legs running faster, hopping and skipping towards Blazkowicz, seeking a sense of security.
She felt greedy gazes, wanting to devour her whole, to crush her and wring her dry with their greed.
Seeing that goodwill was not working, the Emperor did not get discouraged. He exchanged glances with Malcador, a hint of connivance passing between them.
The two approached Blazkowicz, without disturbing the old one, their gaze fixed on the alien he held by the throat.
"What is this?" The Emperor's golden light dissipated, and he quietly inquired about the origin of the ugly monster.
Blazkowicz threw the Genestealer to the ground. "It's from the future; it's called a 'Genestealer.'"
Golden lightning shot from the Emperor's eyes, pouring into the alien's eyes, attempting to read its mind with psychic power to gain some information about the future.
Blazkowicz allowed the Emperor to use his psychic abilities.
Although the alien had tampered with its memories, he sensed residual information.
In this room, he sensed a familiar aura.
Harlan quickly stepped forward, a genuine smile on his handsome, fierce face; he had completed his mission and found the Lord of Oaths.
He punched Blazkowicz's arm, and the two exchanged a smile, everything understood without words.
Such was deep friendship; no need for tearful, intense hugs upon meeting, just a glance, a gesture, and they understood each other.
"Let me see your weapon," the reunion of brothers was interrupted by a muffled voice.
The old one at Blazkowicz's feet raised both hands to Harlan, gesturing for him to hand over his weapon to look at it.
Receiving a reassuring look from Blazkowicz, Harlan was not stingy and handed the dark light to the old one.
"My treasure~" With the weapon in hand, Sintara's expression changed. She rubbed its face against the dark light, even licking the gun's grip with her tongue.
Seeing her expression, Harlan's mouth twitched, but he couldn't snatch the weapon back. Malcador, on the other hand, looked thoughtful.
Harlan found the old one too calm, even a bit impatient, without the curiosity one might expect upon first encountering an unknown species.
That weapon was also of unknown origin; Harlan always kept it in his hand, never letting anyone admire it.
The old one's attitude towards the weapon and Harlan's attitude towards the Old One indicated a deep connection between them; perhaps he had even encountered an Old One before!
Malcador's gaze swept over Blazkowicz's back, not daring to linger too long; he had discovered his little secret.
"Oh~ Oh~"
The old one twitched her nostrils, greedily inhaling the scent of the dark light, its tone somewhat melancholic: "It was forged by me, and before I even had time to bestow a blessing upon it, it was hastily thrown into battle."
"My proudest creation, it's so good to see you again!"
Sintara spoke, her voice tinged with a slight choke, and tears streamed from her large eyes, leaving several dark spots on the red carpet.
Just as Harlan felt disgusted, the old one held up the dark light and said to him: "You have drunk the primordial essence; you are worthy to wield it. Do not let my creation be shamed."
She kissed the gun's grip, murmuring in the old one language, her voice transforming into flying runes that merged into the gun's body as she chanted.
Blazkowicz understood the obscure blessing.
"Molten Star-Forged, Hammer of Blazing Fire, awakens you from slumber, carrying the forge's wrath. Before this blade, all things shall yield."
"May the wielder of this blade be victorious in all battles!"
Harlan retrieved his weapon. He didn't understand the old one language, but he felt it was very powerful, and the weapon in his hand seemed a little different.
The Emperor withdrew his psychic power; he had not obtained any information about the future. The hateful alien had irreversibly dissolved its brain in an instant, preventing information leakage.
However, without future news, he did learn quite a bit about alien habits.
Just then, a squad of custodes appeared at the entrance of the chambers. They wore black armor, but the armor's decorations and reliefs were golden.
