Chapter 1 - Broadcast of the unknown

Broadcast of the Unknown

Chapter 1: The System Awakens

Cold rain tapped against the pavement.

The last thing Lucas remembered from his old life was the glow of a monitor and the page of a wiki filled with strange articles about anomalies and monsters. SCP-173. SCP-096. SCP-682. Endless files of impossible things.

Then came the sound of tires.

And darkness.

Lucas opened his eyes.

The first thing he noticed was the smell. Coffee, cigarettes, rain-soaked asphalt. The faint hum of neon signs.

He slowly sat up on a park bench, his head spinning.

"Where… am I?"

Across the street stood a familiar café sign.

Anteiku.

Lucas froze.

"No way."

He stared at the building like someone had punched him in the chest.

Tokyo.

Anteiku.

Tokyo Ghoul.

His mind raced.

Did I… get reincarnated?

Before he could think further, something appeared in front of his vision.

A translucent blue screen.

[SYSTEM INITIALIZING…]

[Broadcast System Activated]

[Host Confirmed]

Lucas blinked.

"Okay… I'm definitely not dreaming."

More text appeared.

[MISSION OBJECTIVE]

Anomalous entities known as SCPs will begin appearing in this world.

Your task is to locate, capture, and contain these anomalies.

Successful containment will grant rewards such as:

• Foundation Containment Facilities

• Researchers

• D-Class Personnel

• Mobile Task Force Units

• Advanced Technology

Lucas rubbed his forehead.

"Hold on… SCPs? In Tokyo Ghoul?"

That combination alone sounded like the start of a disaster.

But the next message made things even stranger.

[SPECIAL FEATURE: BROADCAST MODE]

Information about SCPs will be broadcast to key individuals in this world.

Recipients include:

• Ken Kaneki

• Kishou Arima

• Touka Kirishima

• Juuzou Suzuya

• High-ranking members of the Commission of Counter Ghoul and many other individuals

Broadcasts will warn them of SCP threats and containment operations.

Lucas stared at the list.

"So everyone important in the story will basically get… SCP documentaries?"

The system responded immediately.

Correct.

Their reactions will influence global stability.

Your performance determines the level of chaos in this world.

Lucas leaned back against the bench.

"This world already has ghouls that eat people," he muttered. "Now we're adding SCPs?"

The system displayed another notification.

[STARTER REWARD GRANTED]

• Temporary Foundation Database Access

• Level 1 Clearance

• Hidden Foundation Outpost – Tokyo Sector (Underground Facility)

• 5 Mobile Task Force Units (Standby Status)

• 3 Researchers

• 10 D-Class Personnel

• First Containment Target Unlocked

Lucas blinked several times.

"Wait… what?"

New information flooded into the screen.

[FOUNDATION OUTPOST – TOKYO SECTOR]

Location: Classified

Depth: 120 meters underground

Status: Operational but minimal staff

Facilities include:

• Basic SCP Containment Cells

• Command Center

• Surveillance Network

• Armory

• Personnel Quarters

• Secure Access Elevator

Lucas stared.

"So… I already have a base?"

The system confirmed.

Correct.

A secure underground Foundation outpost has been established within Tokyo.

Lucas let out a slow breath.

"Okay… that's a lot better than chasing SCPs alone."

More notifications appeared.

[MOBILE TASK FORCE UNITS AVAILABLE]

Five Mobile Task Forces have been assigned to the Tokyo Sector.

Status: Awaiting Command Authorization.

Lucas opened the list.

Mobile Task Force Alpha-1 — "Red Right Hand"

Elite operatives specializing in direct anomaly response and protection of high-value command personnel.

Mobile Task Force Epsilon-11 — "Nine-Tailed Fox"

Specialized in recontainment of breached SCP objects.

Mobile Task Force Nu-7 — "Hammer Down"

Heavy assault unit equipped for large-scale combat and city-level threats.

Mobile Task Force Eta-10 — "See No Evil"

Experts in visual-based anomalies and perception hazards.

Mobile Task Force Mu-4 — "Debuggers"

Technical unit specializing in anomalous technology and system analysis.

Lucas leaned back on the bench again.

"…Okay."

He rubbed his temples.

"So I have a secret underground SCP base… five elite strike teams… researchers… and D-Class prisoners."

He looked up at the rain.

"I guess the Foundation really is starting."

The screen flickered again.

[INITIAL SCP FILE UNLOCKED]

A new document appeared.

Lucas leaned closer.

A strange figure appeared in the database image.

The creature looked nothing like a normal statue. It had a tall, thin body made of rough, cracked material that looked like dried clay or old concrete. Its proportions were unsettling. The torso stretched long and narrow, with thin legs and small bent arms that stuck forward as if frozen mid-gesture.

Its head was round and slightly oversized for the body.

But the face was the worst part.

Someone had painted crude markings across it.

Two uneven green circles sat where eyes should be. Below them were black smudges and rough shapes like smeared charcoal. A long vertical black mark ran down the center of the face like a hollow slit, and bright red paint formed streaks across the top and middle of the head, dripping down like dried blood.

The entire thing looked handmade. Primitive.

Like some strange ritual statue.

And yet… the feeling it gave was deeply wrong.

Lucas felt a chill run down his spine.

He recognized the designation instantly.

SCP-173.

He whispered the name slowly.

"The Sculpture…"

The system continued.

[SCP-173 HAS MANIFESTED IN TOKYO]

Containment Difficulty: Low

Threat Level: City Hazard

Objective: Recontain SCP-173.

Reward:

• Expansion of Tokyo Foundation Facility

• Additional Personnel

• New SCP Detection Technology

Lucas exhaled slowly.

"So if I catch that thing…"

"…I officially start the SCP Foundation in this world."

The rain grew heavier.

Cars passed slowly through the street.

Everything looked normal.

But Lucas knew it wasn't anymore.

Because somewhere in Tokyo…

That strange, long-limbed statue with the crude painted face had just appeared.

And if the stories were right…

It only moved when no one was looking.

The system spoke again.

[Broadcast Preparing…]

Key individuals will now receive the first SCP warning.

Miles away, several people suddenly saw a glowing screen appear in front of them.

Inside Anteiku café, Ken Kaneki froze in the middle of pouring coffee.

On a rooftop, the legendary investigator Kishou Arima looked up calmly.

And somewhere in the city, Juuzou Suzuya tilted his head with curiosity.

On the screen, a message appeared.

ATTENTION

A new category of threat has entered your world.

Designation:

SCP

Back in the park, Lucas stood up slowly.

"Well," he said to himself.

"Guess I'm starting the SCP Foundation."

He looked toward the city skyline.

"First mission…"

"Don't blink."
