Araquanidhat was the name of her kind. Creatures born under the authority of Gluttony, they lived for a single purpose: to devour. That was all they knew how to do, until a queen was born among them.
The Queen could do more than devour. She was an evolved being who had elevated her act of consumption; to devour more efficiently, she began to create.
The more a queen devoured other living beings, the higher her level rose—and consequently, the more she could create.
At some point in history, the queens became as dependent on creation as on devouring. The larger the swarm grew, the more they consumed. Queens could control their swarms through their minds.
One day, a queen created so much and devoured even more living beings than any other queen of the Araquanid race. She transcended—but her swarm had grown so vast that she could no longer control it. In the end, she was devoured by her own offspring.
