The fourteen soldiers stared intently at their king. All of them wanted to leap at the queen and rescue him, yet they could not do sonot because of the spider queen, but because of their king.
In their minds, a clear order had been given: stand still, do not interfere. The commands echoed in their minds as if they were their own thoughts, so all remained frozen, unable to disobey.
The sharp legs of the spider queen pierced the body of her creation and shoved it into her mouth. She looked at the soldiers who stared at her with feelings she could not comprehend.
The queen was very sad. She had done so much to produce a king who would lead her swarm while she devoured and accelerated her production, and then she would open a dimensional portal for her people.
