Chapter 83 - Kayaba Akihiko Settles in Marvel

Back in the shop, Kayaba Akihiko, dressed in a plain black short-sleeved shirt and black casual pants, sat in a chair, browsing the shop using a virtual screen.

Mu Yang reclined in the lounger and placed the data orb on the table. "The Aincrad you wanted."

"Thank you," Kayaba Akihiko said gratefully.

"Have you decided which world to move to yet?" The lounger swayed slowly as Mu Yang asked languidly.

"No." Kayaba Akihiko didn't know anything about other worlds and didn't dare to choose lightly.

"Do you need me to make a suggestion? Free of charge," Mu Yang grinned, his teeth as white and shiny as jade.

That dazzling smile made his eyes dizzy. Kayaba Akihiko closed his eyes, thinking for a few seconds, then opened them and said, "Could I first take a look at the world you recommend?"

"No problem."

Mu Yang clapped his hands, and the space shifted. The two of them were directly transported into the air. It felt as if there was a transparent floor beneath their feet, giving Kayaba Akihiko the sensation of standing on solid ground.

The recliner swayed gently. Mu Yang gazed at the azure sky and said to the stunned Kayaba Akihiko, "Look down. That's the world I recommend, a world where magic and technology coexist, where aliens and gods and demons all exist."

Kayaba Akihiko lowered his head upon hearing this. What first came into view was a thin, gauze-like, milky-white mist, flowing slowly with the wind. Then came the neatly arranged skyscrapers, the bustling streets, the wide rivers dividing the city, and the golden desert in the center of the city...

???

Kayaba Akihiko stared at the desert area within the modern city, his mind filled with question marks.

But when he thought about what Boss Mu had said, that this world was one where magic and technology coexisted, the doubts in his mind dissipated.

He figured it was probably caused by some great magician casting a spell!

Kayaba Akihiko thought to himself, his eyes flashing with excitement. Obsessed with the Floating Castle, he also had a fantasy world in his mind and was interested in magic.

"Thank you, Boss Mu. I'll choose this world," Kayaba Akihiko said.

"Very good."

Mu Yang sat up straight, flipped his palm, and a data sphere appeared, which he tossed into the air.

Kayaba Akihiko was puzzled by Boss Mu's actions but remained silent, watching quietly.

The data sphere spun and fell vertically towards the ground. After more than ten seconds, the data sphere flashed, and the illusory Floating Castle suddenly appeared among the clouds.

"I've added a game to your bracelet. You can use the bracelet to project Aincrad. The areas you build in the game with money will be synchronized into reality."

Mu Yang pointed at the bracelet and then at the illusory Floating Castle, saying, "When you completely build a floor, you can activate the teleport function and teleport into Aincrad."

"Thank you, Boss Mu," Kayaba Akihiko said sincerely.

Mu Yang waved his hand and asked, "Since you've decided to settle here, what kind of identity do you want?"

Kayaba Akihiko thought carefully and asked, "Do I have to pay?"

"Yes," Mu Yang replied, expressionless.

Kayaba Akihiko hesitated for a couple of seconds, considering the future expenses, and then asked, "Is there a free option?"

"There is." Mu Yang stared at Kayaba Akihiko for a moment. But Kayaba Akihiko was an adult, and wasn't embarrassed by Mu Yang's gaze, remaining as expressionless as ever.

"I'll take you to see someone. He'll arrange a legal identity for you in this world."

As soon as the words left his mouth, the space shifted once again, changing from the misty high altitude to the interior of a luxurious villa.

Creak, creak…

The sound of a rocking chair echoed through the silent villa.

Five people, sitting around a coffee table and eating from bowls, all paused. Steve's eyes ignited with fire, Bucky's lips curled into a cold expression, Ethan shifted his bowl away from the sound, and Pepper turned to look at the source, seeing two strangers.

Pepper didn't say anything, watching the two strangers. Tony Stark was surprised to see Mu Yang, and after glancing at Kayaba Akihiko beside him, asked, "Boss Mu, what brings you here?"

"He's planning to settle down in New York. You can arrange his identity and accommodations," Mu Yang said, patting Kayaba Akihiko on the shoulder.

"Alright, no problem."

A flicker of confusion flashed in Tony Stark's eyes. He sized up Kayaba Akihiko, planning to talk to him later.

Having achieved his goal, Mu Yang returned to the shop.

Tony Stark turned to Kayaba Akihiko, "Friend, introduce yourself."

"My name is Kayaba Akihiko, and I come from an ordinary world," Kayaba Akihiko said, his self-introduction concise.

"Alright," Tony Stark didn't press for more, figuring a name was enough. "Do you have any requests regarding your new identity?"

"Something ordinary," Kayaba Akihiko paused for a moment, then asked, "What's your position in this world?"

Judging by the house's furnishings, the person before him was wealthy, though the extent was hard to gauge.

"My position?" Tony Stark chuckled, snapping his fingers and ordering, "Jarvis, tell our friend from another world about me."

"Of course, sir," Jarvis dutifully recounted Tony Stark's various accomplishments and social standing to Kayaba Akihiko.

Because there were so many, Tony Stark wasn't interested in standing and listening, so he walked back to the coffee table, sat on the sofa, and continued eating his meal.

Having finished her meal, Pepper, who had a small appetite, walked over to Kayaba Akihiko. "Hello, Mr. Kayaba Akihiko, would you like something to drink?"

"Plain water, thank you." Hearing Pepper's question, Kayaba Akihiko glanced at her and nodded in thanks.

Pepper poured Kayaba Akihiko a glass of water, and he held the glass, quietly listening to Jarvis recount past events.

During this, Kayaba Akihiko would occasionally ask questions to understand this world.

After half an hour, Kayaba Akihiko had a preliminary understanding of this world. From the surface, the history of this world had a certain degree of similarity to the world he used to live in.

But from the details, whether it was history or other aspects, it was vastly different from his previous world.

If the history of his previous world was a pot of plain white rice, the history of this world was a Yangzhou fried rice with more side dishes than rice. Too much added, but...

"Very interesting!" Kayaba Akihiko's lips curled into a smile.

"Hey!" Tony Stark, having finished eating, walked over to Kayaba Akihiko. "Tell Jarvis what kind of identity you want, and he'll take care of it."

"I understand," Kayaba Akihiko nodded. "Before that, I have something to discuss with you."

Tony Stark raised an eyebrow. "What is it?"

"I'd like to propose a collaboration," Kayaba Akihiko said.

Since this was a world of the extraordinary, there naturally needed to be multiple ways to make money, and to gather enough funds to build the Floating Castle as soon as possible.
