Chapter 82 - Players Who Don't Appreciate

Mu Yang relied on himself for everything, whether it was human transmutation, soul completion, or skill granting; he didn't rely on the shop.

In other words…

…Nine out, thirteen back, he could earn nearly a million.

Mu Yang touched his chest, silently thinking, "My heart…seems a little black!"

But Kayaba Akihiko didn't think Mu Yang was being too greedy. Whether it was returning to the human world or being granted extraordinary skills, these were unimaginable, miraculous opportunities. While a million was a bit expensive, Kayaba Akihiko thought it was worth it.

However, the power that had skyrocketed like a rocket made Kayaba Akihiko unable to control himself. He frowned at the torn sleeve in his hand, though ordinary clothes were very cheap in the shop, only 0.00…01.

But he didn't want to waste it. He decided not to wear any clothes and, staggering, walked to the counter and sat down. He picked up the Devil's Contract and read it carefully. After confirming there were no problems, he signed his name and pressed his fingerprint.

Next, he entered the shop to look for suitable clothes, armor, and weapons.

"What do you plan to do with the virtual world you created?"

Kayaba Akihiko had regained his flesh and blood and could no longer return to the world of data, but the virtual world he created was still running.

"I plan to let everyone trapped inside go, but keep the game." Kayaba Akihiko said expressionlessly. The floating castle in the sky, Aincrad, was his template for building a real-world floating castle, so it needed to be preserved.

"The Space Gate is set to return you to where you entered, and since you're now flesh and blood, you can't go back to the virtual world..." Mu Yang reminded Kayaba Akihiko, "That means you can't return to the world you lived in before through the Space Gate unless you buy a Travel Ticket."

Kayaba Akihiko had no attachment to his former world, so he said directly, "Then, please help me, Boss Mu, to release the people trapped in the game. How much will it cost?"

"Em, let's say 5000. I quite like the number '5'." Mu Yang thought for a moment.

"Okay." The moment he agreed, five thousand was deducted from Kayaba Akihiko's account balance.

"You fought alongside them for a while. Do you have anything you want to say to them?" Mu Yang asked Kayaba Akihiko before they left.

"Comrades?" Kayaba Akihiko gave a strange laugh. If his identity was revealed, comrades would instantly become enemies, but what Mu Yang said wasn't wrong. They had all lived together in a virtual world for a while… roommates? He could say a few parting words.

If he were to say a parting message, Kayaba Akihiko would think of 'The Seed' he left in the online world.

"Mu Yang, if I hid a treasure somewhere, how should I tell others?" Kayaba Akihiko asked for advice, and then explained in detail the functions and location of The Seed.

"Treasure!" Mu Yang rubbed his chin, remembering a very classic saying, "Leave it to me. I'll take care of it."

"Anything else?" Mu Yang pressed.

Kayaba Akihiko shook his head. His purpose in mentioning The Seed was that he didn't want his masterpiece to be buried because no one would inherit it. Other than that, he didn't have anything to say to those people, and those people certainly didn't want to see him.

"By the way, Mu Yang, can you help me bring 'Aincrad' over?" Kayaba Akihiko added, as if remembering something, "I can pay."

"Alright, I'll bring it back for you, free of charge."

Mu Yang slowly stood up. As he did, his form gradually blurred until he became transparent.

February 18th, 2023.

It had been over three months since Aincrad became a death game. Initially, those trapped in the game believed they would be rescued quickly. However, by now, few still held onto that belief, gradually adapting to life within the game.

Today, the players' lives continued as usual. The Raid Group discussed their攻略 plans, players at the front lines went to the labyrinth to level up and gather information, support players ran their shops, and Red Name Players roamed the wilds, seeking prey.

Suddenly, across all the cleared floors of Aincrad, the azure sky was covered by crimson data cubes. The world grew dim. Players scattered throughout the virtual world looked up, involuntarily remembering that day over three months ago. Sadness, fear, anger, hatred… all kinds of emotions churned within their hearts.

A certain mechanism in the virtual world was triggered. Players scattered across the various floors of Aincrad, accompanied by beams of light, converged in the first-floor plaza. After all the players had been teleported to the plaza, Kayaba Akihiko's half-body phantom appeared in the sky above.

"Kayaba Akihiko!!!"

The players in the plaza gritted their teeth, glaring at Kayaba Akihiko with hatred and anger. Some hot-tempered players grabbed their weapons and hurled them into the air.

Kayaba Akihiko (Mu Yang) was expressionless. He waved his hand, and a pile of dazzling weapons instantly turned back into data.

Mu Yang's life level had already undergone a transformation, capable of turning energy into flesh and blood, or flesh and blood into energy, so entering the data world was no problem at all.

Kayaba Akihiko (Mu Yang) put his hands in his pockets, indifferently looking down at the players in the plaza.

"Players, the three-month deadline has arrived…"

Kayaba Akihiko's tone was matter-of-fact, without a trace of emotion. The cold voice made the players frown.

What does that mean? What's this three-month deadline?

What is he planning?!

The players were in an uproar. No one dared to ignore the words of a man who dared to trap ten thousand people in a death game, let alone that terrifying three-month deadline.

There was a conspiracy! A huge conspiracy!

The players warily watched Kayaba Akihiko, who was expressionless.

However, Mu Yang didn't pay any attention to them, continuing to speak on his own. "...I will be traveling to the New World aboard the floating castle Aincrad, and you will gain your freedom..."

???

What did Kayaba Akihiko just say? Freedom?

The players were instantly stunned, staring blankly at the phantom in the air.

Ignoring the stunned players, Mu Yang continued reciting his lines, "And I have also prepared a small gift for you…"

Kayaba Akihiko (Mu Yang) suddenly spread his arms wide, shouting in a loud voice.

"Do you want my treasures? If you want them, then go find them! When you find them, you will gain wealth and fame! They are hidden deep within the depths of the network world!"

The players stared at Kayaba Akihiko with strange gazes, their eyes filled with concern for the mentally challenged.

Mu Yang retracted his hands and said coldly, "Get lost!"

The single sentence was like a universal rule; the players' consciousnesses were instantly knocked unconscious and sent back to reality.

"Seriously, not a single one of them appreciates it. That line was so cool!"

In the network world, Mu Yang held two light spheres. The left sphere contained all the data for Aincrad, and the right sphere contained The Seed.

He tossed The Seed and a data-integrated bracelet into the depths of the network, leaving behind clues, hoping someone would discover them.
