The realization burned.
Anger flared behind Vince's eyes, hot and uncontrollable. His fingers closed around the cheque, and before he could stop himself, he ripped it cleanly in half.
The sound was sharp.
Final.
"Emy will continue working with me," Vince said coldly. "And you won't be able to do anything about it."
He leaned forward now, mirroring Ren's earlier posture.
"And if I were you," he added quietly, "I wouldn't cross me. You won't like it."
Ren didn't flinch.
His gaze turned glacial.
"Very well," he said.
He stood smoothly, adjusting his suit as though the meeting had been nothing more than a minor inconvenience.
"If you won't leave Emy alone," Ren said, his voice flat, "then I'll make you."
He turned and walked out.
The door closed behind him with a soft click.
Vince sat there for a long moment.
Then he laughed.
A short, incredulous sound.
"I'm being threatened by an idol now," he muttered.
Ridiculous.
