Becky POV
The laughter that woke me up was just too familiar.
"Finally awake?"
The voice belonged to Anita.
My eyes snapped open. Light burned through the mist in my head. My wrists were bound, the metal digging into my skin.
Anita stood there surrounded by different members of her pack. Kenneth was tied up, and I wondered how I'd fallen asleep and ended up here.
"I warned you," she scolded. "You should never have stepped into Atlas."
"Untie me," I spat at her. I'd sworn to kill her with my bare hands.
She gave a half-smile. "Kenneth couldn't resist sending a signal. He is still lovesick with me and told me where to find you."
My chest tightened. I turned toward him. "You tipped her off?"
Kenneth swallowed hard, eyes full of regret. "I'm sorry, Becky. I didn't know…"
"It's enough." I shut him off.
Anita laughter filled the air. "He's not lying. He's just naïve."
"Beta, should we bring her to the council now?" one guard stepped forward, asking her.
