Trevor's POV
I was headed to my chambers, but before passing Maria's room, I twisted the doorknob, just to check if she was there.
I didn't have anything special to tell her, but she had become an obsession, and thoughts of her always settled in my head. The door was open and I heard the sound of water sploshing gently.
I followed it to the bathroom, and met the most ethereal sight ever. My mate, Maria, the woman who had made me see meaning to my pathetic life was submerged in the water.
Her head was above the water, and her silk hair was wet and clung to her back and neck. Her back was spotless and smooth just like alabaster.
We were intimate last night, but I never really got to appreciate her bare body because of the darkness. I stood at the door for a while, and she didn't notice me until I walked to her and touched her back, causing her to jerk.
Her scared look was replaced with something softer when she saw that it was me.
