The next morning, Takagi Saya was the first to wake. She hadn't slept well all night.
The image of Su Yi casually destroying an entire building with a wave of his hand replayed endlessly in her mind. That kind of power—terrifying and divine—made her tremble whenever she thought of it.
And remembering how he'd once told her he came from a different world, Saya now believed him completely. That certainty kept her awake till dawn.
Rising from bed, she felt her arm slightly numb. Turning, she saw Shizuka Marikawa still clinging to her in her sleep. With great care, Saya slipped free, dressed, and stepped out onto the balcony.
There stood Su Yi, gazing silently into the distance.
Saya walked over, leaning beside him on the railing. The morning breeze brushed her face.
"Su Yi, you're up early."
"Mm," he replied calmly, nodding toward the horizon. "Found something interesting."
Following his gaze, Saya froze—then covered her mouth in disbelief.
"Am I… dreaming?" she whispered, her voice shaking.
Far in the distance, an enormous horde of zombies was surging forward—thousands upon thousands, packed so tightly they crushed one another as they climbed, layer upon layer, like waves of flesh.
The mass rose tens of meters high, rolling across the city like a living tsunami. Every building in its path was instantly flattened. And it was spreading—fast.
At this rate, it would reach the bridge in less than ten minutes.
"Su Yi! We have to run—now! As far as we can!" Saya shouted.
Su Yi studied the monstrous tide and said evenly,
"No need to panic. But you should wake the others."
Saya nodded and hurried back inside. Moments later, the others gathered on the balcony, staring wide-eyed at the nightmare before them.
Even Rei Miyamoto's legs gave out as she clutched the railing.
"What's happening?! How are they… climbing like that? They must be ten meters tall!"
Behind the rolling wall of corpses, more zombies pressed forward endlessly. The sight alone chilled them all to the bone.
Su Yi wondered quietly if quelling this tide might somehow restore balance to this distorted world. In the Highschool of the Dead world he remembered, something like this had never happened.
Then, glancing at the group huddled around him, he sighed.
"Could you all step back a bit? The balcony isn't that big… and you're crowding me."
His deadpan tone made the women blush, breaking the tension for a moment.
Saeko Busujima turned to him seriously.
"Su Yi, what should we do?"
Shizuka Marikawa added,
"Maybe we should just retreat. I've got an armored car in my friend's garage."
Alice: "If we get far enough, we'll be safe, right?"
Meanwhile, C.C., Asuna, and Unohana Retsu all fixed their eyes on Su Yi.
Unohana: "Su Yi… it's your turn."Asuna: "Time to show us what you can really do."C.C.: "We'll leave the rest to you."
Saeko's eyes widened, realizing what he intended.
"Wait… you're not planning to—!"
But before she could finish, Su Yi's figure vanished.Only his shadow remained, stretching across the sunlight as he stepped forward to face the oncoming storm.
