"What are you all staring at this great one for? Get lost and do whatever you need to do. This kid's body is mine now."
"We already agreed on this. For the next three days, I do whatever I want!"
Inside Shoko Ieiri's secret base, 'Naruto' casually prepared to head out alone,
Although his appearance hadn't changed, they could all sense he wasn't Naruto.
Whether it was his expression or tone, he was too different from Naruto.
"You're the Nine-Tails, aren't you? The one living inside Naruto's body." Itadori immediately guessed the truth.
He had Sukuna inside his own body, who used to constantly fight him for control.
Speaking of which, he realized he hadn't seen Sukuna at all in the last few days. He didn't know what Sukuna was up to; it was as if he had left his body.
But that was impossible. Where else could there be a vessel for Sukuna? Besides, he was already inside him; even if a new vessel appeared, he shouldn't be able to escape.
"You think I wanted this?! You're the ones who would do anything for power, who forcibly sealed me away!"
The mere mention of this reignited the Nine-Tails's fury, but because a large amount of its negative emotions had been siphoned off and converted into Cursed Energy—and actually, because it saw the Sharingan activated in both Sasuke's and Kakashi's eyes—the Nine-Tails had become much more docile.
"The previous battle consumed a great deal of my power. As payment for providing that power, I get to use Naruto's body for three days."
"What? You got a problem with that? I saved your lives. Besides, even prisoners get yard time."
The Nine-Tails wasn't being polite. Naruto hadn't broken his promise and had truly handed his body over completely. This meant it could now unleash almost all of its power; if it wanted to, it could even undergo its Tailed Beast Transformation on the spot.
Uchiha Sasuke was a total slacker, his three-tomoe Sharingan wasn't of much use, and Kakashi's Mangekyo was half-baked. If a real fight broke out, the Nine-Tails was confident it could wipe them all out.
They knew this as well. After all, they had witnessed the battle where Naruto wielded the Nine-Tails's power against their enemies.
But that didn't mean they could just stand by and watch. Kakashi subconsciously took a step forward.
"Where are you going?"
he asked. Now wasn't the time for conflict, but he had to ensure nothing happened to him, since it was Naruto's body he was using.
The opening of the Culling Game's shop meant even more variables were in play. He wasn't comfortable letting 'Naruto' go out alone.
"I'm just going for a walk, and maybe grab a bite to eat. There's nothing inside the seal, you know."
The Nine-Tails wasn't being overly arrogant or domineering. With its negative emotions stripped away, it was actually quite easy to talk to. Besides, if it wanted to come out more often, it was best to stay on good terms with Naruto. It didn't even plan on breaking the seal anymore; it had gotten used to living inside.
—At least, not until the few Uchiha in this world were all dead.
In truth, it didn't know what it would do if it gained its freedom. After all, the Nine-Tails spent most of its time sleeping and had no particular plans.
The only thing it could say it wanted, perhaps, was a good meal?
Grab a bite to eat? Kakashi quickly latched onto the key part of the Nine-Tails's words, his expression odd.
Do creatures like Tailed Beasts even need to eat? Then for all those years it was trapped inside the seal… He suddenly understood why Shoko had said its negative emotions were immense.
Ignoring their questions, the Nine-Tails darted out of the base in a flash, its fox-like agility unaffected even while using Naruto's body.
"Forget it. He doesn't seem to have any ill intent. Let him move about freely for a bit."
Kakashi stopped Itadori and the others who were about to follow. The only opponent the Nine-Tails couldn't handle right now was Schwarzer, who was more or less on their side. That meant Tokyo held no threat for it.
On the contrary, if they followed, they would become a liability if they encountered an enemy.
Seeing that Kakashi and the others weren't following, the Nine-Tails was happy to have the peace. The feeling of freedom was wonderful.
That guy Naruto was always going on about Ichiraku Ramen. After being influenced by it for over a decade, it had developed a slight interest in food. Just a little.
Recalling the blissful look on Naruto's face while eating Ichiraku Ramen, it was as if that happiness had seeped into the very body, and it unconsciously felt its mouth begin to water.
This was clearly an issue with Naruto's body. How could the Nine-Tails itself be craving food? It would die before admitting that!
But at this hour, would anyone really have their shop open? It wasn't because it was too late—a mere twelve o'clock at night was just when the nightlife began.
The main issue was that contact with anyone was dangerous. Who knew if they would kill for points?
The only option was to form 'teams' with acquaintances to establish a basic level of trust. Even so, some people would still backstab their own teammates, relying on the rule that allowed a one-time team transfer.
The Nine-Tails only realized this when it arrived on the streets alone. Tokyo was dead silent, devoid of any life. Only dim streetlights flickered intermittently, the previous battles having destroyed much of the infrastructure.
"Tsk, a miscalculation. I should have realized. This is wartime."
It had experienced the Great Ninja War, so it naturally knew what wartime conditions were like. Finding an open shop in such a period was nearly impossible.
So, it quickly changed its plan and headed for a roadside convenience store it had seen through Naruto's eyes before.
No one was managing these things anymore anyway, which meant they were ownerless.
The Nine-Tails could already picture itself looting the entire convenience store and eating whatever it wanted.
Convenience store ramen was still ramen; there wasn't much difference. Besides, the seasonings of modern society were far superior to those of the ninja world. Even Naruto wouldn't dare claim Ichiraku Ramen was better than instant noodles, at least not in terms of pure flavor.
As long as it was careful not to harm any civilians and attract the attention of Schwarzer, the Nine-Tails felt it was the uncrowned king of Tokyo and could do as it pleased!
"Oho, to encounter a being with such terrifying points right off the bat? Fate is truly on my side."
"Your name is Uzumaki Naruto, is it? Hello. I am the one who will bring peace and justice to this world. You may call me—the President."
His flamboyant, wavy golden hair, paired with his incredibly old-fashioned aristocratic attire, created a peculiar sense of beauty.
The Nine-Tails scoffed at the so-called talk of fate, but the moment it saw the information above the President's head, it leaped back a huge step, dropped to all fours, and enveloped its entire body in Tailed Beast Chakra.
"What the hell is that thing?!"
As if its fur were standing on end, the Nine-Tails saw his points—an eight-figure score, a terrifying number that made it question reality.
