I was in my room, in my cute pink pajamas on bed talking to Katty over the phone, ever since I stood up for her we had gotten pretty close, we sit together in the cafeteria we walk each other home and we are inseparable at school, It was nice having a best friend.
"What series are you in to?" Katty asked
"Hmm, I like fantasies and thrillers" I answered
"I like series that contain romance and drama" Katty said
"By the way how have you been getting alone with the Adams brothers" Katty asked
"Hmm, Daniel is okay, he is very smart, helps me a lot in class projects and he is so sweet to me, like there is this one time the math teacher asked me a surprise question I thought I was done for then he typed the answer for me in my calculator and placed it on my desk, I saw the answer and mentioned it to the teacher and it was correct, I looked behind and saw him smile at me and I whispered thank you to him, he literally saved my life" I smiled
"Interesting, what about Jayden" Katty added
"He is a living nightmare, he always plays pranks on me in class, like last time he put a frog in my desk, It jumped out and I freaked out and everyone in class thought I'm insane, then he said "I thought your not allowed to bring your pets to school" and everyone burst in to laughter, I felt so embarrassed I left the class because frogs make my skin crawl and went to the bathroom"
"Hahaha" Katty giggled "I think he just likes playing with you"
"NO! He's out to get me, I hate him so much" I crossed my hands
"You know at times when a boy likes you they'll play pranks on you" Katty teased
"Hmm, no way I imagine him putting an onion ring instead of a real ring in the ring box as a joke in front of a crowd of people"
Katty laughed over the phone, "That's ridiculous"
"But its not impossible, anyways I have to go to bed we have school tomorrow"
"Yeah, you're right good night" she wished
"Likewise" I switched off the phone and covered myself with the blanket and went to sleep, though I couldn't stop thinking about what she said about Jayden
The next morning, I rode my bicycle to school, I always preferred taking my self to school and bringing myself back since my parents are never around, it just turned into a habit, That's why I always place it in my mom's car boot if she brings me to school, as for my dad he is a flight surgeon who I last saw two years ago, so I naturally learnt self dependency.
"I'm here" I parked my bicycle on the bike rack
Tara arrived from her fancy porsche and she looked at me and smiled
"Nice bike Khloe, though I think it costs less than my shirt, what's wrong couldn't afford a car" she hinted
"No thanks I don't need to pay for fuel and it gives a free exercise" I answered
"Hmm , how sad call me if you need a donation" she walked away
I growled, rolled my eyes and sighed to ease my frustration then walked towards the school entrance, I put my stuff in my locker and walked to my class.
I walked straight to my desk and sat.
"Are you doing okay" Daniel who was behind me asked
"Of course, do I looked like I have something wrong with me" I looked behind with my teeth grinding against each other
"Umm, never mind" Daniel nervously smiled
Jayden entered the class and smirked when he saw me, to think I had had enough, he walked towards me
"How are you bike girl" he smirked
I didn't even know how he got to know that I just tried to ignore him
"You know, bike riding can be tiring, so I got you a bottle of water" He added
(Everyone begun laughing)
I felt like I'm shrinking, It was the most embarrassing thing so far
"Just in case you couldn't afford it" he whispered
I snapped and splashed the water in his face, then the teacher entered and caught us
"Khloe Hunter and Jayden Adams, Go to the principle's office!"
Next thing I know I'm sitted with Jayden in the principle's office
"I am so disappointed in you" the principle stated
"It was an honest mistake sir" Jayden said
"I was meaning Khloe, I don't expect more from you Jayden Adams
"I tried" Jayden whispered
"I really thought you would be a good kid Khloe" The principle stated
"But sir, I am a good kid, It's all his fault!" I answered
"All I did was give her water, I was trying to show chivalry like any good kind gentleman of my age" He defended
"Do you really think, I could buy that" principle cross legs
"Worth a shot" Jayden winks at me
"Anyways you both have earned a week's supply of, DETENTION"
"WHAT!, sir I've never been to detention before"I anxiously said
"Well you can be there now, Jayden will show you the ropes" He ssid
I look at Jayden and he throws at me the devil's smirk, I give him the worst death stare I could do
After lessons, I am in the class in detention thinking of where I went wrong as I draw on a piece of paper, Jayden has been staring at me for twenty minutes now
"So what you drawing" he asks with a eveil smile
I show him the picture of him as the devil I was drawing
"Yshh" He looks away
"So what are your dreams in life" He asks with a cheeky expression
"To destroy you and bury you in my backyard" I whispered
"Are you that angry at me" He sarcastically asks
"If by that you mean furious, enraged, boiling, then yes I'm angry at you"
"It was just a harmless joke" He said
"Don't you see the consequences of your actions, you completely embarrassed me in the entire class and then you got me in detention I know its an everyday thing for you but unlike you, I am a good kid, I have a heart"
My words pierced through Jayden like an arrow and his usual cheeky smirk disappeared
"Well if I am heartless I can just do this" He pushed my books from the table to the ground and they scattered everywhere"
"What's wrong with you" I shouted
He stood up and begun packing his books
"Detention is not even done yet, where are you going" I asked
"Anywhere away from you" he said and left the class
I felt so confused and touched my forehead, well at least I was alone in peace. I stood up when detention was done and the principle entered
"I see time is up you can go, but where is Jayden he is skipped right, he is going to get it
"No he didn't skip he is just from leaving because time is up, but he was here the entire time"I defended him because I kinda felt sorry for him
"Are you sure Khloe" He suspiciously asked
"Yes, I am sure" I confidently answered
"Fine, go it's getting late" He said
I left the room and got out of the school and found my bike with a flat tire, the holes looked plucked in
"Who could have done this" I asked myself
I had no choice just to walk back home as I was walking I ran into some guys smoking in a corridor, I tried ignoring them but then, one came up to me
"What's wrong love, are you lost" He smiled
(the rest of the gang laughed)
"No I'm fine" I rolled my eyes
"Because we can help you" He smiled again
It was that moment I knew I was trapped, my brain froze
