Stephanie and I watched Ivan as he got into his limo and drive out of the estate. Tension radiated through my body in ultrasonic waves, and I was sure Stephanie felt them too. As soon as Ivan's car disappeared out of view, I turned around and walked into the mansion. Stephanie followed me.
"Something happened, right? Did Ivan tell you anything?" she asked anxiously, trying to read the answer in my eyes.
I held her hand and led her into my study, debating how much I could tell her as we walked. Then I closed the door behind us and sighed. "Ivan didn't know any of the men in those pictures. But he did give us a lead about two Italians."
Her brows rose. "Really? So, what now?"
"I'll have to drag the answers out of the mouth of someone who isn't my ally," I said blankly.
"An enemy?" she echoed and almost shuddered. "Who's it?"
My lips twisted into an uncomfortable grimace. "Fabrizio Glocciano," I gritted out.
