Bang~
Tian Wang placed half a box of bottled water on a desk.
He chuckled bitterly: "This is all that's left."
Lv Bai glanced briefly, and it looked like there were about six or seven bottles left in the box.
He casually said, "About one bottle per person?"
"These are the leftovers from last week's class basketball game."
The female teacher was also quite helpless.
Sigh, resources indeed.
After all, nobody would store food in an office.
Everybody gathered around the remaining bottles of water, and Ke Jianghao took on the task of distributing them, even giving one to Lv Bai, treating everyone equally.
After everyone got a bottle, there was surprisingly still one left in the box.
"Let's consider the last bottle communal, anyone have a problem with that?" Ke Jianghao asked after distributing.
The distribution was quite fair, so naturally, no one objected.
The truth is, at the moment everyone didn't really feel a sense of crisis.
There wasn't even a real feeling of a zombie outbreak, with hopes pinned on the chaos subsiding quickly.
Like Tian Wang, who immediately unscrewed his bottle and gulped down more than half.
The others also drank some, but none as bold as Tian Wang.
Lv Bai didn't rush to drink, holding his bottle as he walked to sit by the window.
He needed to think about the next steps.
This office was only a temporary resting place for him.
It was safe, but with just this one bottle, he couldn't stay here forever.
The human body needs about two thousand milliliters of water a day, and though Lv Bai's body had been enhanced by the zombie virus, he was far from not needing food or drink.
So he needed to consider when to leave, how to leave, and where to go?
The main discussion among everyone was around this issue.
"We need to find a way to save ourselves."
Ke Jianghao solemnly stated his stance: "From current information, this chaos is global, and at this stage, we can only rely on ourselves, at least we have to get enough food."
He always spoke confidently, with a seemingly innate persuasiveness.
In Lv Bai's opinion, such people are suited for giving speeches at a pub.
But ultimately,
humans are creatures that don't shed tears until they see the coffin.
"I... Classmate Ke, I think we're pretty safe now, let's not panic yet..."
The female teacher was very hesitant; she didn't want to take risks at all.
Not just her, but most others felt similarly, though they didn't stand up to oppose.
"Let's wait a bit longer."
Ke Jiangni said softly.
Ke Jianghao was about to say more, but hearing this, he could only sigh.
After all, they'd come to the office to help organize materials after class.
This meant that every one of them was actually hungry.
When the hunger becomes truly unbearable, looking for food then might leave them with little energy.
Wu Ya wasn't sure which side to support, noticing Lv Bai by the window, she cautiously asked, "What does Lü think?"
Lv Bai didn't expect to be involved, he smiled and was about to say something.
Just then.
Boom!!!
A loud noise suddenly came from outside the door.
The office fell silent, everyone stared wide-eyed in the direction of the security door, looking nervous.
The wild pounding sound not only didn't stop, but grew even louder.
Without a doubt, the zombies outside were attracted by the discussions.
Everyone had gradually forgotten to lower their voices while talking.
Realizing this too late, they all regretted it now.
The zombies kept pounding on the door, the repeated dull sounds made one's teeth ache.
Truthfully, everyone was just startled at first, then slowly calmed down.
They'd encountered similar situations before; when Lv Bai came in, there were also zombies pounding on the door, but eventually they stopped.
With this thought in mind, while their bodies were still tense, they weren't overly worried.
Suddenly, Ke Jianghao's face changed as he stared hard at the door.
He clearly noticed that the gap at the top of the door frame was getting larger, with each pound dislodging more dust.
Anyone with eyes could see that the security door was about to collapse, and at this rate, it wouldn't last long.
Ke Jianghao decisively abandoned any fantasy and rushed to grab a mop in the corner, breaking off its end with a stomp to quickly make a makeshift wooden spear.
He rushed to the door, holding the handle, and yelled, "Girls to the back!"
"What are you doing?!"
Zheng Xiaoming jittered as he held his glasses, his voice sharpened with fear.
"We can't let it continue breaking the door."
Ke Jianghao appeared calm on the surface, but his palms were already sweaty.
Tian Wang swallowed hard, hesitantly picked up a broom.
There wasn't much choice; it was the most convenient "weapon" in the office.
The female teacher was utterly lost at this point.
She instinctively moved to the window, hugging the water bottle to her chest for protection, not knowing what it was guarding against.
"Three..."
"Two..."
"One!"
Before the words were fully spoken, Ke Jianghao unlocked the door quickly during the zombies' pounding interval, then stepped back rapidly.
Bam!
The security door was smashed open by the zombies' fist effortlessly.
But as representatives of mindlessness, they understood little of what this meant.
Seeing the room filled with "food," they let out a chilling growl, charging towards the nearest Ke Jianghao.
Too close.
Close enough to discern the bloodshot veins in the zombie's eyes and the bits of meat stuck in its teeth.
Faced with terrifying things, people usually have two reactions: one is to panic to the point of weakness, and the other is to trigger an inner viciousness.
Ke Jianghao was evidently the latter.
"Damn!"
He cursed angrily, thrusting the wooden spear at the zombies' menacing face.
As a sports student in the school athletic team, his physical fitness was considered outstanding among peers.
Yet he still underestimated the zombies' impact.
This zombies' speed and strength were absurd.
The spear barely pierced halfway, and Ke Jianghao was slammed to the ground by the zombie, knocking over a desk as he went.
With such a strike, Ke Jianghao felt like his bones were about to fall apart.
Facing the zombie, still with half a spear in its head and lunging at him again, he couldn't even evade.
As he was about to be bitten, the female teacher couldn't help but scream.
Luckily, Lv Bai had anticipated this and moved ahead.
He yanked Ke Jianghao aside, his free hand gripping a longsword and slashing down hard.
Splat~
The head separated smoothly from the neck.
Lv Bai didn't spare another glance at his handiwork after swinging the sword; instead, he swiftly relocked the security door and turned to the female teacher, gesturing for silence.
"Please keep quiet, let's not attract other zombies here."
