Chapter 8 - Chapter 7: Escaping the School

Seeing this scene, everyone present was completely stunned.

Tian Wang's mouth even unconsciously opened wide, as if he could easily fit two duck eggs inside.

Unlike the others, Lv Bai remained composed at the moment.

The subtle curve at the corner of his mouth seemed to hint at a trace of a smile.

Although outwardly there appeared to be no change compared to before, everyone's perception was entirely different.

Drip~

Blood oozed from the severed neck of the zombie, splattering onto the floor.

Upon seeing this, everyone snapped out of their daze.

As their rationality returned to their brains, they looked at the bloody object at Lv Bai's feet and couldn't help but gag.

Ke Jianghao, however, didn't vomit; he just staggered back half a step, his face turning considerably pale.

Although he seemed a bit uncomfortable, compared to the others, it was already quite good.

After all, they were just a group of high school students who had never seen such a brutal and bloody scene.

Ke Jianghao looked at Lv Bai, hesitated for a moment, and somewhat unnaturally squeezed out two words.

"Thanks."

To be honest, being saved by someone he had a bit of a conflict with was quite awkward for him.

Lv Bai, on the other hand, didn't have such complex thoughts. He smiled at Ke Jianghao and began cleaning the Eight-sided Han Sword.

"Bleh~"

After gagging for a long time, someone finally couldn't hold it anymore and threw up.

Grains of rice, bits of meat, along with stomach acid poured onto the floor, the sour stench mixed with the thick smell of blood making the odor in the office unbearable.

Lv Bai inserted the cleaned Eight-sided Han Sword back behind him and glanced at the chaotic scene.

He softly said, "You've vomited, so what do you plan to do next?"

"If more zombies come, this security door won't hold," Ke Jianghao looked at the gap in the doorframe, his tone very certain.

Their conversation drew everyone's attention to them.

Unfortunately, after encountering zombies firsthand, the courage they originally had was even less.

Let alone the fact that most people here still didn't have the motivation to leave this 'safe house' for now.

Ke Jianghao turned his head toward the person in the office who was nominally the most authoritative—

The female teacher was still slumped under the window, clutching her chest in shock, and really could not be expected to stand up and say anything.

"Uh, Lü, and Classmate Ke..."

Wu Ya, her face flushed with embarrassment, drank some water and rinsed her mouth before continuing, "I also agree with the plan for self-rescue, but it's best to come up with a safe plan. We don't need to rush."

By the way, Lv Bai's actions were too clean and efficient.

Apart from that one tug on Ke Jianghao, he didn't show any extraordinary physical abilities, at most making everyone think his sword was particularly sharp.

"Why don't we wait until the evening and see?"

Tian Wang's face was still in bad shape; he was the one who vomited the most.

Zheng Xiaoming immediately chimed in, "Yeah, maybe by nightfall, those zombies will turn blind."

Everyone didn't know what to call them, so they simply followed Lv Bai and called them zombies.

Lv Bai could clearly sense that Zheng Xiaoming and the female teacher were the two least willing to take risks among everyone present.

He was too lazy to point it out, simply saying with a smile, "At night, our vision is restricted, making it more dangerous."

Having been infected by the zombie virus himself, he knew that zombies' vision isn't worse than humans, and their hearing is even better.

Given the choice, Lv Bai would rather act during the day.

He didn't plan to stay here for long anyway; anyone willing to leave with him, he wouldn't mind lending a hand if danger arose.

But if they insisted on staying in the office until death, he wouldn't forcibly take them along with him to survive; maybe they could live a little longer.

"Just tell us your plan."

Ke Jianghao breathed in shallow breaths.

Lv Bai walked over and pushed open the window to let the air in the office circulate a bit.

As he turned to look at everyone, he casually pulled down the curtain, saying, "We'll act in two hours, head to a place like a supermarket that's stocked with supplies."

...

No matter how difficult the decision, two hours is enough time to make one.

Once Ke Jianghao clearly expressed his agreement with Lv Bai's plan, the others, at least outwardly, did not object.

To put it bluntly, following the crowd is the choice of most people.

Before the action, Ke Jianghao continued to gather zombie information online.

Lv Bai, without asking, collected everyone's coats intending to tie them together with the curtain.

He didn't have high expectations for this thing, as long as it didn't break prematurely.

Once Wu Ya saw Lv Bai almost done weaving, she asked, "Are you making a rope?"

"We can't just take the stairs, right? Or are you planning to jump directly from the third floor?"

Lv Bai glanced at her, "I can't use Great Shift of Heaven and Earth to catch you."

"What... Great Shift?" Wu Ya was baffled, clearly not getting the joke.

Seeing this, Lv Bai suddenly laughed and said, "Don't worry, I'll protect you."

He's not stupid; judging from the situation when he first came in.

Letting him into the office was clearly this female student's decision alone.

Even though he might not have been torn apart by zombies if he hadn't hidden in the office, Wu Ya's kind gesture was appreciated.

However, when he said this, he clearly overlooked how much his current appearance affected young girls.

"Who needs your protection."

Wu Ya instinctively retorted first, then her face turned red rapidly, explaining incoherently, "No, that's not what I meant, I mean..."

Lv Bai blinked, quickly realizing why Wu Ya reacted so vehemently.

He then actively changed the topic, "Rest for now, we probably won't have another chance later."

Wu Ya murmured an almost imperceptible sound and walked to the side to sit down with a complicated mood.

Before Lv Bai could enjoy a moment of peace, Ke Jiangni walked over to him, sincerely saying, "Thank you."

"What?"

Dazed, Lv Bai felt like the NPC in the newbie village, with players occasionally coming to talk and pick up quests.

"If you hadn't pulled my brother earlier, maybe he'd already be just like those zombies outside."

Ke Jiangni expressed her gratitude earnestly.

Lv Bai nodded to show understanding, "If you must thank me, could you help clean up? You guys vomited quite a bit."

Ke Jiangni seemed surprised by Lv Bai's reaction, her delicate face stiffening slightly.

"I'll do it."

Always focused on this side, Zheng Xiaoming eagerly picked up a broom and started to work.
