Chapter 201 - 《DXD: Multiverse Journey》Chapter 201: The Second Lesbian Spirit Girl

"DXD: Multiverse Journey"Chapter 201: The Second Lesbian Spirit Girl

Tengu City's afternoon buzzed with traffic and distant music. Shuo Nangong checked his phone, found the message, and headed toward the café where he'd arranged to meet Yatogami Miku.

He stepped inside, scanning for her.

There she was—tucked away in a shadowy corner, black baseball cap pulled low, sunglasses hiding half her face.

Seriously, was this the official celebrity camouflage kit?

He didn't need a second guess; this had to be Miku.

He strolled over, playing dumb.

"Excuse me, are you Tsukino Yoru?"

A flicker of annoyance flashed in Miku's eyes—pure, instinctive distaste for the male species.

"Yeah, I'm Tsukino Yoru. You're the guy who 'rescues millions of fallen girls,' right?"

Shuo coughed, awkward. "Uh… that's me, I guess."

He took a seat. Miku, now up close, sized him up with clinical precision.

Handsome. Charismatic.

Wait, no—he's a guy. I hate guys. Guys are just… tools.

She forced herself to scowl, trying to summon the familiar revulsion.

Shuo caught the shift in her expression but didn't let it bother him.

He knew her history—two years ago, a scandal had left her with a deep-seated hatred of men.

He'd dialed his charm up to max, just enough to make her lower her guard.

Subtle, gentle—he wanted to chip away at that wall, not blast through it.

After a moment, he offered his hand.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Shuo Nangong—the one who messaged you about collaborating."

Miku hesitated, then removed her cap and glasses.

Now he could see her clearly: a young face, but a body that left no doubt she'd grown out of childhood. Purple-silver hair framed her sharp eyes.

He'd seen plenty of beautiful girls, but Miku's proportions were… well, impressive.

Seventeen and already breaking physics.

But Shuo kept his cool, barely reacting.

That, more than anything, seemed to throw Miku off.

Men usually drooled over her. She'd built her confidence on it.

But Shuo's indifference made her second-guess everything.

Did she dress wrong today?

Or… was he gay?

Women's logic was a labyrinth.

Good thing Shuo couldn't read minds. If he'd known what Miku was thinking, he'd probably mutter,

"Me, gay? You're the one with the 'special preferences' here."

He waved to the server.

"Cappuccino, please."

Then, turning to Miku, he asked, "Anything for you, Miss Tsukino?"

She pursed her lips. "Iced Americano."

She watched him, trying to read his intentions.

Her gaze was sharp, skeptical.

"Heh. Disgusting man. Tell me why you're really here."

She reached out with her power—the Diva's voice.

A whisper, charged with spirit energy, slipped into the air: a subtle command, impossible for ordinary people to resist.

She'd used it countless times.

But Shuo just sat there, relaxed, unfazed.

Her eyes narrowed.

What the hell? Why didn't it work?

She hadn't even activated her Astral Dress, but her voice should be irresistible to any normal human.

This guy was anything but normal.

Interest flickered behind her eyes.

The more unusual the toy, the more fun to play with.

The server returned, setting their drinks down.

Miku lifted her cup, sipping with elegant restraint, savoring the bittersweet flavor.

Shuo followed suit, gulping his cappuccino—then nearly gagged.

Damn. Now he understood why Reine dumped half a sugar bowl into her coffee.

This stuff was brutal.

Still, pride on the line, he forced it down.

Miku saw his grimace and couldn't help but chuckle behind her hand.

Who would've thought the genius songwriter would make such a face?

"If it's too bitter, you can add sugar."

"Thanks," Shuo replied, trying—and failing—to look cool.

They settled into business.

"The songs you sent me are incredible—honestly, they blow everything else on the market out of the water."

"But… I don't get it. With your talent, you could work with anyone. Why me?"

Miku sounded analytical, almost cold, but Shuo could sense the effort it took for her to keep her composure.

He thought for a moment, then answered.

"I told you before—I know what you've been through, and I've always believed in you."

"These songs suit you. Rising from despair, reborn in fire. If you want, I'll give them to you—use them for your comeback album."

He kept adding sugar to his coffee, waiting for her response.

Miku's jaw dropped.

"Give them to me?!"

She stared, disbelief written all over her face.

She couldn't understand—it made no sense.

Why did he say he believed in her?

Her emotions churned—pain, gratitude, hope, sadness, all tangled together.

Unbidden, memories from two years ago flooded back—the scandal that destroyed her career overnight, the fans who turned on her, the endless hate.

She'd lost her voice, her hope, her will to live.

Only by chance had she become a Spirit, saved at the edge of despair.

"No… I don't believe it!"

"When I was framed, everyone hated me. Not one person defended me. Even when I lost my voice, no one helped."

"Humans are selfish, cruel—they're all liars!"

Her voice rose, eyes shining with raw anguish.
