Chapter 111 - 《DXD: Multiverse Journey》Chapter 111: Kojou, Nagisa’s Really Soft!

Nagisa nodded in agreement, and Shuo leaned over to ruffle Kanon's hair, his expression turning serious as he explained Nagisa's true identity.

"Eh? So that's it? Nagisa sounds pretty amazing!" Kanon's eyes sparkled—not a trace of fear, just pure curiosity.

Nagisa's jaw dropped, torn between surprise and delight. "Kanon-chan, aren't you… worried? Scared?"

Kanon tapped a finger to her lips, tilting her head. "Not at all. Nagisa's my best friend. Why would I be afraid?"

"Ah, Kanon-chan…" Nagisa couldn't help herself—she hugged Kanon tight, cheek pressed to cheek. "You're too sweet!"

Kanon didn't mind, though her cheeks flushed pink as she giggled shyly.

Tch. Shuo watched the scene, jealousy gnawing at him. Why can't that be me? I want to get smothered in soft pillows too!

Not that he'd ever dare say it out loud, especially with Nagisa around—he'd get roasted for sure.

After a moment, Shuo remembered something important. He hadn't given Kanon her "angel reincarnation energy" yet.

"A gift?" The two girls paused mid-play, question marks practically popping over their heads.

Shuo smiled patiently. "It's something I prepared for Kanon-chan. After what happened with those vampires earlier—and since you're Nagisa's friend—you need a way to protect yourself. Think of it as a little insurance."

Whether it was solving Kanon's Simulated Angel problem or simply helping her grow stronger, it was necessary.

So, using a casual excuse, Shuo transferred the angelic energy into Kanon's body.

A golden glow enveloped her.

Kanon blinked, startled, examining herself for any changes. But aside from a gentle warmth, she couldn't detect anything.

That was by design—Shuo had set up a danger-sensing spell, so Kanon would fully awaken as an angel only when she truly needed it.

"All done, Kanon-chan. Now you're safe—and if you're ever in trouble, I'll know right away," Shuo said, voice gentle.

"Shuo, you're full of surprises!" Nagisa grinned.

"Thank you so much, Senpai!" Kanon chimed in.

The girls, still riding the excitement, invited Shuo to go shopping with them.

Shopping? Shuo's mind flashed back to his adventures with Rias and the gang—cue instant panic. He made a hasty excuse about needing to prep for the first day of school and bolted before they could protest.

Nagisa and Kanon watched him go, disappointment lingering. "We'll get him next time…"

The next morning, Shuo was deep in dreamland when a rapid knock and a girl's voice yanked him awake.

"Shuo-kun, you're not still in bed, are you? School starts today—get up and open the door!"

Groggy, Shuo shuffled over and swung the door open… wearing nothing but his underwear.

Standing outside was a curvy blonde, red-brown eyes sparkling, dressed in a stylishly altered Saikai Academy uniform—Asagi Aiba. The only person certified by the island's supercomputer AI, Mogwai, and, as it happened, Cain's witch.

But right now, Asagi was staring at Shuo's bare legs, face blazing red. "Are you for real? You answer the door in your underwear? Pervert!"

Shuo shrugged, unfazed. "What's the problem? We go to the beach like this all the time. Or… is Asagi embarrassed?"

He shot her a sly grin.

Asagi's mouth twitched, torn between retort and retreat. "Tch, who's embarrassed? Just get dressed already—we're gonna be late!"

Shuo just smiled and let it go, slipping into his uniform and heading out with Asagi.

She grumbled about "exhibitionists" the entire way, but Shuo took it in stride. After all, thanks to the system's intervention—and his own support—Asagi had managed to recover from her mother's death. Their relationship was close, even if she'd never admit it.

Luckily, the school wasn't far. They arrived quickly, and Shuo spotted a cluster of familiar faces as soon as he stepped into the classroom.

"Yo, Shuo! Asagi! Long time no see!" called a boy with headphones around his neck and a mop of blond hair—Motoki Yaze. Energetic, quick-witted, always ready with a joke. Secretly, he was the real monitor for the Fourth Primogenitor, skilled in shikigami.

Shuo knew Motoki never crossed any lines, so he didn't mind him—in fact, he appreciated the guy.

Shuo took his seat and glanced at Kojou Akatsuki, who was slumped over his desk, eyes half-shut and looking half-dead.

"Yaze, what's up with Kojou? He looks like he got hit by a truck."

Motoki smirked, leaning in to whisper, "Hehe, Shuo-kun… Kojou spent last night at his girlfriend's place. That's why he's like this."

Wait, what?! Kojou has a girlfriend? Already? I haven't even gotten one yet!

Abandoning friends for romance—no, abandoning his own sister for romance! The guy's priorities were shot.

Just then, the system pinged with a new mission. Shuo scanned the conditions, his expression turning weird. This system really had a sense of humor.

He turned to Kojou, voice loaded with meaning. "Kojou, your sister Nagisa… she's really soft, you know."

"!!!" Kojou shot up, eyes wide. "What?!"

Shuo waved him off, grinning. "Relax, just kidding. Don't look so shocked."

Kojou groaned. "You bastard. Always messing with me."

"But seriously, Kojou—about Nagisa yesterday…" Shuo recounted the events in detail.

Kojou's face darkened. "That happened? Damn demon punks! Why didn't Nagisa tell me?!"

Shuo rolled his eyes, voice dripping with mock disdain. "Tell you? Weren't you busy having 'deep exchanges' with your girlfriend?"

Kojou's cheeks reddened, but he managed a sincere thank you. Then, curiosity got the better of him. "But when did you get so strong? You controlled those vampires like it was nothing!"

Shuo patted his shoulder, putting on the airs of a wise old sage. "I was trying to live as a normal guy, but the mask's off now. Just call me God!"

"God my ass. If you won't explain, fine—I don't care," Kojou snorted, rolling his eyes and slumping back onto his desk.

He was curious, sure, but he trusted Shuo—especially given Nagisa's feelings and Shuo's character. And if Nagisa ended up with Shuo, maybe he'd finally get a break from her constant nagging.

A smile crept onto Kojou's face as he daydreamed about another night at his girlfriend's place.

Shuo, watching the whole thing, couldn't resist peeking into Kojou's thoughts with a touch of mind-reading.

He nearly choked. Kojou, you dog—just don't get drained dry, alright?
