Chapter 109 - 《DXD: Multiverse Journey》Chapter 109: Three Girls, One Hero—A Classic Rescue

Shuo strolled down the sunlit avenue, deep blue school uniform crisp against his white shirt. Every corner radiated with youthful energy—a parade of summer-clad girls, laughter swirling in the breeze. Mixed in were the city's registered demons, easily spotted by the slim bracelets on their wrists.

He paused, eyes narrowing in curiosity. Those bracelets weren't just accessories—they were magical regulators, alarms, and ID all in one. In Itogami City, the so-called "demon special zone," demons and humans mingled openly. Here, a vampire could walk in broad daylight, while in the DxD world, they'd be forced into the shadows.

The contrast made Shuo smile wryly. Two worlds, same monsters—one hiding, one thriving.

After wandering for a while, Shuo was about to head toward Saikai Academy when a flash of silver caught his eye—a girl, striking and familiar.

Short silver hair, butterfly ribbon at the ends, eyes the color of clear skies. Her figure was graceful, her Saikai Middle School uniform pristine—she looked like an angel fallen to earth.

Kanon Kanase. The "Saint of Middle School," her beauty almost sacred.

Shuo's gaze softened. Kanon's childhood had been marked by tragedy—fleeing her homeland with her mother, losing her family, then being adopted and transformed into a "simulated angel." Royal blood, but a life shaped by sorrow. He couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for her.

She seemed to be waiting for someone. Shuo lingered at a distance, content to watch.

Moments later, a black-haired girl in the same uniform dashed over, waving energetically.

Nagisa Akatsuki. So Kanon was waiting for her.

As the two girls moved off together, Shuo trailed them discreetly. Another girl shadowed them as well, and Shuo's lips curled in amusement. Three main characters, all at once? He couldn't have planned it better.

He kept his distance, ready to introduce himself when the moment was right. But trouble found them first.

At the entrance of a shop, two registered demons blocked Nagisa's path, their stance menacing. Nagisa's demon phobia kicked in—her eyes flashed blood-red, fangs slipping past her lips.

Before Shuo could intervene, the third girl—Yukina Himeragi, always vigilant—stepped forward, her expression steely.

"Sekkarou!" she called, voice sharp.

With a flick of her wrist and a flash of magic, one demon was sent flying.

"Damn, she's an Attack Mage!" the other spat, rage and fear warping his features.

Attack Mages—humans who wielded magic or psychic powers, trained to keep demons in check. Soldiers, cops, private security, even freelance hunters—each with their own arsenal, but all natural enemies of demonkind.

The remaining demon, driven by panic, let his true nature show—crimson eyes, razor fangs. "Burn her!" he howled.

His companion, regaining his footing, summoned a flaming horse—his familiar—charging straight for Yukina.

Yukina's face hardened. "Summoning familiars in a crowded street? Are you insane?"

She swung her case around, drawing her weapon—a sleek, gunmetal machine gun, the legendary Type-7 "Sekkarou." Forged by the Lion King Organization to counter supernatural threats, its core was a relic: the Demon-Breaking Holy Spear. Only three existed in the world.

The crowd scattered, panic rippling through the street. Sirens wailed in the distance.

Shuo shook his head. "Are you all idiots? Brawling in public, not caring who gets caught in the crossfire."

He vanished, reappearing between Yukina and the two vampires. With a flick of his wrist, both attacks dissolved harmlessly.

"Senpai?!" Nagisa and Kanon gasped in unison. Thanks to the system's tweaks, they recognized him instantly—though to them, he was just a regular upperclassman. How did he do that?

Yukina leveled her weapon, eyes wary. "You blocked Sekkarou—instantly. Who are you? Why are you interfering?"

Shuo met her gaze, voice calm but tinged with exasperation. "Interfering? Look around—you're all about to start a panic in the city center. Let me handle this."

He turned to the vampires, amusement flickering in his eyes.

One, face twisted with rage, spat, "Who the hell are you? Why butt into our business?"

Shuo's reply was cool, almost bored. "Who I am doesn't matter. But if you lay a finger on my adorable underclassmen, don't expect mercy."

With a thought, he unleashed [Mental Out], his psychic power slipping into their minds.

"You like harassing people? Fine. Go to the erasure zone, find some other demon punks, and challenge them to sword fights. Now."

"Yes, Master!" they echoed, voices hollow.

The two vampires rose, dazed, and staggered off, leaving the scene behind.

The three girls stared, stunned.

That's it? Just like that? And what was with the "master" thing?
