Daniel grinned proudly.
The truth was, he had enjoyed every second of the attention Anna had given him. Even though the bandage on his right arm made him look like a patient, he felt perfectly capable of doing most things himself.
But why would he?
Not when his wife was fussing over him like this.
Last night had been especially memorable.
Anna had helped him change into comfortable clothes because pulling the sleeve over his bandaged arm was "too difficult."
She had carefully placed his plate on the table and fed him when he claimed his arm hurt too much to lift the spoon.
Even Mariam had looked amused watching the scene.
Though Daniel knew he looked like an overgrown child, he had enjoyed every ounce of it.
"Honestly," he continued dramatically, stretching slightly on the bed, "I might never recover from this injury."
Anna immediately turned toward him.
"You better recover quickly."
Daniel placed a hand over his heart.
"Wife, how cruel. Your husband is suffering."
