Chapter 221 - The King's Trial: Loki's Final Game

Loki tumbled out from behind the shattered wall, his clothes torn and hair dishevelled, yet his expression was full of mockery. His cape had long been ripped, half-hanging from his shoulder, swaying in the wind like a tattered flag. He wiped away a trace of blood from the corner of his mouth, chuckled softly, and his eyes held a hint of cunning.

Black Bolt stood on high ground, his expression cold and majestic. One hand was clasped behind his back, while the other was slightly raised, pale blue energy waves surging in his palm. His figure was as straight as a statue, exuding an unshakeable kingly aura.

"Loki, Asgard's god of mischief," Black Bolt spoke, his voice deep and powerful, as if every word contained heavy force, "Your tricks are meaningless before true power. You are merely a clown who has lost the protection of the divine realm."

Loki propped his hands on his knees, took a few breaths, then straightened up and reached out to tidy his collar, which was beyond saving. He raised an eyebrow, a sneer on his lips: "You speak with such righteous indignation, are you starting to believe it yourself? Tell me, 'King,' how do you keep your crown steady? Relying on these stale speeches?"

Black Bolt's gaze slightly chilled, and he raised his hand, a wave of energy quickly shooting out, like an invisible sharp sword piercing towards Loki. Loki swiftly dodged to the side, his movements awkward but still agile. The strong wind generated by the energy flow tore his cape even more.

"Quite ruthless," Loki poked his head out from behind a large rock, his tone still sarcastic, "But did you forget something? A 'King's' elegance isn't maintained by throwing energy blasts."

Black Bolt stood in place, his gaze locking onto Loki's hiding spot like lightning. He slowly advanced, each step seemingly carrying oppressive power. His voice was low, carrying a majesty that was impossible to ignore: "Elegance? Elegance is something a comical clown like you will never understand. A King's duty is to rule, not to entertain. Loki, every breath you take is a desecration of power."

Loki's gaze flickered slightly, and the body hiding behind the large rock gradually tensed. He was quickly weighing his options in his mind, but on the surface, he remained nonchalant: "Oh, rule? Sounds good, but you know what? Sometimes I really want to be a King too. Unfortunately, the crown is too heavy, and wearing it for a long time makes my neck hurt."

Black Bolt raised his hand, a more powerful energy wave erupted from his palm, directly hitting the large rock where Loki was hiding. The large rock instantly shattered, and Loki was sent flying backward by the shockwave, hitting the wall behind him with a dull thud.

Black Bolt slowly approached, his gaze sharp: "Are you thinking about how to deal with me? Unfortunately, this battle was decided from the beginning."

Loki leaned against the wall and stood up, the expression on his face somewhat twisted, but he quickly hid the pain and revealed a fake smile. He raised his hand and wiped his dust-covered face, his tone carrying a hint of tired mockery: "You are truly gifted, able to make every sentence so rigid and boring. I guess you must be a very popular party host at home."

Black Bolt was not provoked, his expression remained cold, and he raised his hand to gather a larger ball of energy. His voice was as deep as a bell buried in the abyss: "Your words are like your attacks, completely harmless. The final struggle will only make your defeat more complete."

Loki's eyes instantly became sharp, he quickly calculated in his mind, and his feet subtly shifted backward. He was waiting for an opportunity, a moment to counterattack.

Black Bolt's energy ball shot out suddenly, this time the Impact was even stronger, almost tearing the entire air. Loki gritted his teeth and dodged to the side, but the aftershock of the explosion still sent him stumbling backward. His steps were unsteady, his body barely stable, but his eyes were still stubborn.

"Wow, your attack almost made me wet myself," Loki gasped, the smile on his lips still sarcastic, "However, have you ever thought, if I were really that weak, why am I still standing here?"

Black Bolt stopped, his gaze like a knife: "Because you are too foolish, unable to even see your own insignificance."

The smile on Loki's lips deepened, his voice carrying a hint of undetectable chill: "Insignificant? Perhaps, but insignificant things always have their value. For example, you right now, have no idea what will happen next."

His finger moved slightly, and a green illusory light overflowed from his fingertip, rapidly spreading in the air.

Black Bolt's eyes changed slightly, he noticed that the surrounding airflow began to change, and space seemed to be undergoing some subtle distortion.

"Has it finally begun, god of mischief?" Black Bolt's voice was still cold, his gaze sharp.

Loki did not answer, just lightly flicked his finger, and the green illusory light instantly enveloped the entire ruins. His figure suddenly disappeared, leaving an empty shadow swaying in place.

Black Bolt snorted coldly, his gaze quickly sweeping around: "Cowardly tricks only make me more disgusted."

Before he finished speaking, a sharp cold light pierced out from behind him, aiming directly at his neck. Black Bolt quickly turned around and struck the incoming dagger with a palm, only to find that the dagger dissolved into nothingness in his palm.

"It's an illusion," he muttered, his brow furrowing slightly, the impatience on his face becoming more obvious.

"Oh dear, I've been discovered." Loki's voice came from all directions, like whispers mixed in the air, each syllable carrying a hint of mockery.

Black Bolt concentrated, and the surrounding air suddenly felt as if it was being pulled taut by an invisible force. His steps paused slightly, then he suddenly swung his hand, and a wave of deep blue energy swept around, shaking the entire ruins and sending dust flying.

"Hide, conceal yourself, every step you take is within my control," Black Bolt said coldly, his aura undeniable.

Loki's figure reappeared, this time he stood on a cracked stone pillar, his posture still elegant, but the smile on his face was full of danger. He tilted his head slightly, his tone relaxed but carrying a chill: "Control? Sounds good, but unfortunately, control is just the beginning of another kind of loss of control."

He lightly waved his hand, and the green light suddenly contracted, turning into countless tiny light points, surrounding Black Bolt's body. Black Bolt frowned, just about to wave his hand to dispel these light points, but found that his movements were being slowed down by an invisible force.

"Have you ever tried being bound by your own power?" Loki asked in a low voice, his tone playful. His figure suddenly disappeared from where he stood, and when he reappeared, he was already behind Black Bolt, holding a cold-gleaming dagger in his hand.

Black Bolt's reaction, however, remained calm, he raised his hand and delivered a counterattack, accurately hitting Loki's wrist. The dagger flew out of his hand and stuck into the ground, making a crisp sound. Loki quickly retreated a few steps, there was no panic in his eyes, but rather a hint of hidden smugness.

"Did you think that everything was within your control?" Loki asked softly, reaching out to wipe the blood from the corner of his mouth. His eyes were fixed on Black Bolt, and the smile on his lips became more cunning.

Black Bolt did not answer, he just raised his hand, and the deep blue energy once again gathered in his palm. His voice was low and majestic: "Your struggle is just delaying the inevitable. I don't need to answer you, the answer is here—"

His energy wave suddenly erupted, and the entire ruins were instantly filled with dazzling blue light. Loki's figure appeared incredibly small in the light, his movements were sent flying backward by the shockwave, hitting a stone wall heavily with a dull thud.

Loki coughed up a mouthful of blood, but he still didn't stop smiling. He struggled to his feet, his eyes carrying a hint of madness and defiance. He said softly: "The answer may be here, but the question is—is your answer truly correct?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Black Bolt's brow furrowed sharply. He looked down at his palm, where the ball of deep blue energy suddenly began to fluctuate violently, as if it could explode at any moment.

"You—" Black Bolt looked up at Loki, a hint of surprise appearing in his eyes for the first time.

"Guessed right." Loki grinned, and lightly flicked his finger, the green light points in the air suddenly condensed, directly piercing into the energy core in Black Bolt's palm.

The energy vibrated violently, and Black Bolt's movements instantly froze, the entire ruins once again falling into a brief silence.

Loki struggled to stand straight, the smile on his face was a little tired, but his eyes were still sharp. He said softly: "Even if you are a King, you cannot ignore the role of a pawn."

The smoke and dust cleared.

Black Bolt's gaze gradually returned to calmness, he slowly raised his head, and the deep blue energy gradually subsided.

His voice was still low, but it carried a hint of sharp coldness: "A good trick, but you are wrong. If you think all this can change the outcome, then you are destined to be swallowed by your own foolishness."

As soon as he finished speaking, a strong light suddenly burst from his palm, directly destroying the surrounding green light points.

Loki's eyes suddenly changed, his body was sent flying by the strong Impact wave, and he fell heavily to the ground again.

Black Bolt slowly walked towards Loki, his eyes showing unshakeable majesty. He said in a low voice: "This game ends here."

The energy in Black Bolt's hand suddenly condensed into a shining sharp blade, his gaze like a judgment staring at Loki who was lying on the ground. Just as the sharp blade was about to fall, a silver-white web shot down from the sky, accurately wrapping around his wrist, and the energy fluctuation of the sharp blade was forced to interrupt.

"Don't be in a hurry to end this, 'King.'" A clear voice came from above. Miles Morales flipped down, lightly landing in front of Loki, his hands clenched into fists, his black and red spider-suit faintly shimmering in the sunlight. He glanced back at Loki on the ground, his tone light but firm: "Looks like your good luck has run out, but don't worry, heroes always show up at the most crucial moment."

He raised his head and looked directly at Black Bolt, his voice low and powerful: "No matter how strong you are, I won't let you hurt my teammate. If you want to get past me, try it first!"
