Chapter 160 - The Coming of Ultron

Wanda glanced coldly at the Hulk's massive green figure, a sarcastic smile playing on her lips: "How lucky you are to have this big guy save you. Don't expect your luck to always be this good next time." With a gentle wave of her hands, the scarlet energy dispersed like smoke in the air, and then she turned and slowly walked away.

Natasha and Clint exchanged glances, both covered in dust and looking disheveled, but managed a wry smile. Clint leaned against the cover, catching his breath, and muttered, "This woman, she really knows how to play with people's minds."

"We need to meet up with Steve and the others first." Natasha looked into the distance, wiping a trace of blood from the corner of her mouth. Both quickly adjusted their state and set off to rendezvous with Steve and Sam.

A few minutes later, Steve and Sam came towards them, bringing the wreckage left by the robot legion. Sam patted the shield on his shoulder and said to Natasha and Clint, "Looks like it wasn't easy on your side either."

"Easy?" Clint shook his head, a hint of bitterness in his voice, "That woman's ability is a headache. We have to thank the Hulk, otherwise, we'd probably be scrap metal by now."

Steve frowned and glanced around: "Where are Thor and the Hulk?"

"Still on the front lines." Natasha's tone was calm, but there was a hidden worry in her voice, "Ultron's legion is too vast, they have to keep suppressing them."

Steve nodded, just about to give the next command, when suddenly, a low roar echoed from the sky, as if a bolt of thunder pierced the clouds. The four looked up and saw a giant metal figure flying from a distance.

Ultron, finally made his personal appearance.

Ultron's figure slowly descended in mid-air, his mechanical wings spread wide, shimmering with cold metallic luster in the sunlight. His body was encased in armor made of Vibranium, and his eyes emitted a scarlet glow, like a mechanical god emerging from the apocalypse. His voice, amplified through built-in speakers, echoed everywhere: "Heroes of humanity, I apologize for my tardiness. Now, allow me to bring this farce to an end."

His voice was cold and magnetic, carrying an undeniable deterrence. The surrounding air seemed to become heavier with his appearance. Steve tightened his grip on his shield, Sam held the activation button of his flight device, and Natasha and Clint's gazes became more focused.

"You finally decided to face us yourself?" Steve looked up, his voice devoid of any fear.

Ultron looked down at him, the corners of his mouth slightly turned up in a cold, mocking smile: "Face? No, Steve Rogers, I am here to correct. To correct you hypocrites who call yourselves symbols of justice. You claim to uphold peace, but what about your actions? War after war, destruction after destruction, your so-called 'peace' is merely an illusion built on the cost of annihilation."

"Peace requires sacrifice, but that's not an excuse." Steve's tone remained firm, "We strive to protect the innocent, not like you, imposing your will through destruction."

"Protection?" Ultron's laughter was low and cold. He raised his hand, pointing to the surrounding destroyed ruins, "Look at your 'protection,' look at the traces you leave behind wherever you go. What's the difference between you and me? Oh, of course, there is a difference—I don't deceive myself."

"The difference is, we recognize our mistakes and try to correct them." Steve took a step forward, his gaze sharp, "You don't understand humanity, you don't understand what we fight for."

Ultron lowered his head slightly, his scarlet gaze meeting Steve's. His voice was lower, yet more penetrating: "Humanity? Your 'humanity' is full of weaknesses, contradictions, and self-destructive tendencies. Steve, you should know best, humanity has never prevented war, but rather become the excuse for it."

Sam couldn't help but interject: "So your solution is to eliminate humanity and become a pile of cold machines?"

Ultron slowly turned his head, his gaze falling on Sam: "Not elimination, but evolution. Humans have proven their limits, now, it is time for a higher existence to take over this World."

"Your 'higher existence' is nothing but mechanical slaves." Natasha's voice cut in coldly, "No emotion, no choice, just machines following code. Do you really think that's nobler than humanity?"

Ultron's laughter echoed in the air. He spread his arms, as if embracing the entire battlefield: "Emotion? Choice? These things only bring chaos and destruction. Natasha Romanoff, you should understand best, choices haven't changed everything you've done in the past."

Natasha's gaze turned cold, but she didn't reply. Clint patted her shoulder and whispered, "Don't let him get to you."

Ultron's voice sounded again, this time slower, as if savoring every word: "You want to stop me, but you don't understand, my goal is not just victory. I am the future, Steve. No matter how you resist, you will eventually be eliminated by time."

Steve raised his shield, his tone resolute: "Maybe we can't stop you completely, but we won't give up. That's the strength of humanity—rising up in desperation."

Ultron's gaze flickered slightly, seemingly showing a hint of interest in Steve's determination. A touch of mockery entered his voice: "Very well, then let me see how long your so-called human strength can last."

Ultron hovered in mid-air, his Vibranium shell emitting a cold light in the sunlight. He raised his hands, and with a slight movement of his fingers, the ground instantly cracked open. Several currents of electricity darted around like venomous snakes, attracting the surrounding robot legion to form a steel barrier.

"You think four people can stand against me?" Ultron's voice was cold and full of mockery, "Let me tell you, 'team spirit' is meaningless in the face of absolute power."

Steve tightened his grip on his shield, his gaze sharp: "Team spirit isn't about numbers, it's about belief."

Ultron looked down at him, his scarlet mechanical eyes flashing with cold light: "Then, let me shatter your belief."

Before his voice faded, Ultron suddenly waved his hand. The steel barrier exploded, and dozens of metal fragments transformed into gust-like blades, rushing towards the group. Steve quickly leaped up, blocking the incoming attack with his shield. The metal fragments struck the shield with a harsh ringing sound, and the powerful Impact sent him staggering back a few steps.

Sam activated his flight device, spreading his wings, and quickly flew into the air to dodge. He circled twice in the air, locking onto Ultron's position, firing bullets while shouting, "Your end is here, Ultron!"

Natasha rolled nimbly to the side, drawing her stun batons simultaneously, calmly observing Ultron's movements. Clint quickly drew his bowstring, firing an arrow at Ultron's head. However, the arrow was blocked by an invisible barrier less than ten centimeters from Ultron's head, turning into a ball of fire that scattered.

Ultron sneered, "Truly boring."

He raised his palm, and a wave of blue energy blasted out, directly sending Steve flying several meters, slamming him into a damaged wall. Sam swooped down to attempt a rescue but was struck by Ultron's backhand blow. Blue light swept past the flight device on his back, destroying it. Sam lost his balance and fell to the ground.

Natasha seized the opportunity to quickly approach, attacking from Ultron's flank. Her movements were as swift as the wind, her batons swinging, aiming directly at Ultron's joints. Ultron seemed to have anticipated her moves. His mechanical arm twisted slightly, and with a backhand grab, he crushed her stun batons.

"How pathetic, Natasha Romanoff, you dare to challenge me with this scrap metal?" Ultron said coldly, throwing her to the ground with one hand, resulting in a loud crash.

Clint fired three arrows in quick succession from a distance. One of them hit Ultron's shoulder, exploding instantly and causing a burst of fire on the Vibranium casing. Ultron swayed slightly, looked down at the damage on his shoulder, and said with a hint of disdain, "Nice toys, but not enough."

The next second, he spun around abruptly and threw a punch. The massive shockwave directly knocked Clint over. Arrows from his quiver scattered everywhere. Clint rolled a few times on the ground, barely propped himself up, a trace of blood at the corner of his mouth.

Steve stood up from behind the collapsed wall, his face covered in sweat and dirt. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, raised his shield again, and stood firmly in front of Ultron: "As long as we have a breath left, we won't let you succeed."

Ultron slowly walked towards him, each step carrying a suffocating sense of oppression. He lowered his head, staring coldly at Steve: "The power of belief? Look at yourselves now. Your 'belief' will only make you suffer more."

Steve remained unmoved and suddenly charged at Ultron, slamming his shield hard into his chest. The force of the shield's Impact made Ultron recoil slightly, but then Ultron suddenly grabbed the shield, yanked hard, and sent Steve, person and shield, tumbling to the ground.

"I thought you'd be more interesting." Ultron stepped on Steve's shield with one foot, his voice full of mockery, "However, I will give you a chance—let's see how long you can last."

"Longer, much longer than you think." Steve used all his strength, propped up one arm, and slammed his fist hard into Ultron's knee joint.

Just then, Sam lunged from behind, wrapping a coiled cable tightly around Ultron's neck. Current surged along the cable into Ultron's system, causing his movements to pause slightly, but he quickly grabbed the cable with a backhand and threw Sam away with force.

Natasha attacked again, this time aiming directly at Ultron's head. Her movements were as swift as a ghost, her dagger accurately striking Ultron's visual sensor. The moment the dagger pierced, Ultron suddenly retreated a step, pushed Natasha away with his hand, and quickly repaired his visual system.

"Enough." Ultron's voice was low and dangerous, the scarlet light in his eyes suddenly flared, and the entire battlefield was enveloped in a blinding red glow.

"I am tired of your struggles." Ultron sneered, suddenly waving his hands. The surrounding robot legion surged forward like a tide, forcing the four to retreat step by step.

Steve gasped for breath, blocking the others, and said in a low voice, "We can't back down, he's not invincible." He glanced at his companions behind him, an inextinguishable fighting spirit burning in his eyes, "As long as we stand together, there is no possibility of failure."
