Chapter 102 - Equality for All

"He… he just said… he's going to break the legs of all the protesters?"

Cold sweat trickled down Susan and the others' foreheads and backs.

Victor forced a smile, looking at Bai Ye. "You, uh, you must be joking, right?"

Bai Ye didn't answer. Kingpin's subordinates had already taken out their phones without being told.

"Beep beep beep!"

The call was immediately connected. Kingpin's subordinate issued a cold command: "Get five, no, ten muscle guys to the Doom Group's entrance immediately. Break three legs of everyone participating in the protest… That's right, the three legs you're thinking of."

"The number of people? Over 200… Yes, break all of them. This is the boss's boss's order."

"Also, remember to seize all the assets of those muscle guys. They'll go straight to jail… Why? The boss's boss said, they can't leave a single penny to compensate those protesters."

"That's right, tell them exactly that. The boss will handle everything with the prison, and we can even arrange for them to have prostitutes inside if they want."

"The boss will take care of their families, and I'll get them out after five or ten years."

Behind them, Susan and the others were stunned. Having never dealt with the underworld, they couldn't even begin to imagine Kingpin's actions.

There were over 200 people in the demonstration below. Breaking all their legs would cause a huge social impact. Was this guy joking? In fact, even in the underworld, no one would dare to do something so openly, for fear of attracting the authorities' attention.

Even knowing that doing so was very high-profile and asking for trouble, Kingpin still chose to bet with Bai Ye, for no other reason than to go all-in.

At this moment, facing these people's shocked, disbelieving expressions, both Bai Ye and Kingpin remained indifferent, looking down at the crowd below without speaking.

I should probably try to calm them down... Bai Ye thought, then suddenly said.

"Huh? Why?" Kingpin was stunned. Was the situation changing this fast? "You're not going to break their legs?"

Victor and the others breathed a sigh of relief. It was always better not to resort to violence; the underworld was terrifying.

"No, it's just that your men might arrive too late. I'm afraid these protesters will disperse prematurely if they don't see a reaction from me. I need them to stay longer."

Bai Ye said seriously, "Just relying on anger alone is like attacking nothing. This group won't last long. There needs to be external factors influencing and fermenting to keep them going."

Just treating it like a taunt to draw aggro. Bai Ye thought.

"Hiss!" Even Kingpin gasped after hearing Bai Ye's words. This was a living Yama.

"Strict, you are truly too meticulous." Kingpin gave a thumbs-up and flattered him.

Bai Ye ignored Kingpin and looked at Victor, "Do you have a microphone or something? I want to speak to the people below."

Being watched by Bai Ye, Victor shivered all over. He immediately said, "I'm here, what? The microphone, right? I have it, I have it. I'll get it right away."

After saying that, Victor practically ran to get the microphone for Bai Ye himself, just to get away from him for a few seconds.

Susan and the others felt their legs trembling, wanting to leave but not daring to speak, fearing they would attract Bai Ye's attention. They could only stand to the side like they were being punished.

Especially Johnny, he wished he could go back a few minutes and slap himself. Why did he have to provoke him?

A minute later, a panting Victor ran up with the microphone in his hand, handing it to Bai Ye. He said: "It's already connected to the company's broadcast system. Just press the red button on the microphone to speak to the people below, and they'll be able to hear you clearly."

"Oh, thank you." Bai Ye smiled as he took it. Victor forced a smile and waved his hand, saying, "It's nothing, it's nothing."

He could see it now. The way Bai Ye and Kingpin were openly plotting in front of them wasn't that they didn't see them as outsiders, but rather they didn't care about them, treating them like insignificant bugs that could be crushed underfoot.

If they dared to report or stop them, it would be their own three legs that would be broken next. Didn't they see how Kingpin was just questioned and was immediately reprimanded by Bai Ye?

And Ben, who had regained his astronaut status, felt a complex mix of emotions. It seemed like Bai Ye telling him to stay away from this job was indeed a good thing. Otherwise, who knew when a single word could offend him and lead to disability.

Bai Ye held the microphone in his hand and pressed the power button. The next moment, a buzzing sound came from the company's broadcast system.

At this moment, the scenes of the protest below had been urgently broadcast on major news television stations through the reporters' cameras.

Inside Utopia, the Mutants watched the images of the public outcry against Bai Ye, especially those Mutants from the Academy who had been saved by Bai Ye.

Professor X sighed that the prejudice in the human heart was a mountain, while Magneto clenched the steel beads in his hand, itching to go to the scene and cause a bloodbath.

During the school's lunch break, Gwen watched her classmates gathered together, looking at their phones, and curiously went over to take a look.

She saw that the figure who had sent her back and hadn't contacted her since was plastered on the protesters' boards in various mocking images.

"This is too much." Gwen, who had originally been full of resentment towards Bai Ye, blurted out subconsciously.

And in the factory where Bai Ye was training, Rogue and Smith were also watching the scene of the protest through the emergency news broadcast on television.

"Can you hear me? You idiots down there?"

At that moment, Bai Ye's voice echoed through the crowd below, and it was also clearly audible in the live stream.

What's he saying? The protesters below were stunned. Was this guy really being so arrogant after being denounced?

"That's right, I am Bai Ye, a Mutant, and also the target of your protest," Bai Ye said with a smile, looking at the crowd below. "There are quite a few of you here today."

"Oh, let me see, White pig, niger, and even Yellow monkey."

"Wow, quite a variety of species. I wonder if there are any Mutant freaks here participating in today's protest too."

The protesters on site: ...

Mutants watching the live stream: !!!

Gwen, Rogue, and Smith: ???

Everyone who heard Bai Ye's voice was dumbfounded. This was too mocking, and it included everything.

What was this supposed to be? As long as he discriminated against all races equally, was that some kind of alternative equality for everyone?

"I'm going to..."

"Fake!"

"Sour radish bitch!"

Below, after a few seconds of stunned silence, emotions exploded instantly. Because of Bai Ye's words, the people who had already prepared to leave all stayed, and began to verbally abuse Bai Ye.
