Chapter 101 - Break Three Legs!

"Hey, I don't agree with what you're saying."

At this moment, seeing that Bai Ye and Victor had already decided on the person, Astronaut Johnny stood up directly, dissatisfied.

"Ben was originally set to be one of us. He can't just leave because of your one sentence."

"Johnny, don't be willful." Victor quickly pulled at the future Human Torch, not wanting to ruin this deal.

He had even given up his fiancée for this deal; he couldn't let it be ruined because of this.

Bai Ye, who was originally ready to leave after watching, looked at Johnny and said, "Do you have any objections?"

"What objections do I have? Because of you, this waterlogged product who got in through connections, you casually let Ben, such an excellent astronaut, leave his post. Don't you think it's appropriate?"

Johnny broke free from Victor's hand, walked forward, and stared directly at Bai Ye.

Looking at the large man in front of him, Bai Ye recalled, "You're Johnny Storm, right?"

"That's right," Johnny said with a nonchalant expression, hands in his pockets.

"If you were serious just now, then honestly, you really have a knack for comedy," Bai Ye said.

"What do you mean?"

"A year ago, you snuck into a flight simulator with two 'Victoria's Secret' lingerie models, causing the flight simulator to crash and getting you kicked out of the space agency."

"With your professionalism and past experiences, I can't imagine how you got into this project without the help of your sister, who's in charge of your genes."

"So, I got in through connections, huh? Is the flight simulator not enough for you to play with? Are you planning to wreck a space station this time?"

Bai Ye said calmly. Victor's expression was one of shock, as he was thinking, 'There's such a thing?'. Johnny became increasingly guilty, and Susan's face also showed embarrassment.

"That's enough, no need to say more." Ben said, seeing Johnny's embarrassment, and stepped forward. "I'll leave."

Seeing how moved Ben was by Johnny's loyalty, Bai Ye thought for a moment and then gave Johnny a pleased smile.

"Since you insist on having Ben go to the Space Station as well, I'll take back what I said earlier. Ben's spot is still valid, you can all go up together."

Changed his mind so easily? The others were a little surprised, but then thought of Johnny being Susan's brother, and it made sense.

But only Bai Ye smiled, watching the two people who were relieved.

Since they were so determined, he wouldn't interfere.

He just hoped that Ben, who would later become the Thing and lose his fiancée, would be able to keep his composure when he saw Johnny, the Human Torch, after he gained his powers.

"Then that's settled. Ben, Susan, Johnny, and Mr. Bai will go to the Space Station together, and I'll wait for news on the ground." Victor breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that there were no major issues.

But at this moment, Bai Ye tilted his head in confusion, because within his ears, several hundred meters away, there came the sound of incessant cursing.

"Mutants, get down here!"

"Inferior beings, die!"

"Demon Bai Ye, get out of this world!"

At this moment, a parade of about two hundred people was shouting insults, heading towards the Doom Group.

Along the way, the imposing momentum attracted many onlookers.

The reporters who had originally been preparing to film Bai Ye were now excitedly holding up their cameras to film the parade.

Most of these people were comprised of European and American Rednecks who detested Mutants, especially after learning that they would be forced to pay taxes to Bai Ye in the near future because of his universal cultivation method. Their mentality immediately exploded.

Upon learning that Bai Ye planned to visit the Doom Group today, they immediately organized a protest, intending to denounce Bai Ye and force him to revoke the tax decision.

Soon, the enormous commotion reached the ears of those in the company. Victor's expression shifted slightly; he hadn't expected so many problems today.

\n\n

The group walked to the seventh-floor balcony and looked down. They found that the protesters had already surrounded the company. The hundreds of people created a massive uproar, making it difficult for the security guards to maintain order.

\n\n

Looking down at the rioting crowd, Bai Ye smiled. "Has the online sentiment shifted so quickly in just two days?"

\n\n

"It's not your fault; the current public opinion environment regarding Mutants is just like this," Kingpin said, a little sweaty, fearing Bai Ye might lose his temper.

\n\n

Victor chimed in to smooth things over, "Please, don't take those people's words to heart. Please wait a moment inside the company; we will handle the situation."

\n\n

"It's alright. It's the first time I've encountered something like this; it's quite fun. Let them protest for a while longer," Bai Ye said, resting his hands on the balcony's edge, looking down at the protest.

\n\n

These people were even holding up posters of Bai Ye, with his face drawn on them in various mocking images.

"That mutant freak is over there!" Someone with sharp eyes shouted from below, pointing at Bai Ye, who was perched on the seventh-floor balcony.

Immediately, all sorts of insults were hurled at Bai Ye on the seventh floor. Some even wanted to throw rotten eggs, but the twenty-meter height proved too far.

Victor and Kingpin were both nervously staring at Bai Ye, afraid he would get angry, while Johnny and the others were watching with a sense of amusement, ready to see how Bai Ye would handle it.

On the balcony, Bai Ye looked at each of the people's faces.

He realized that some of them were the same people who had excitedly cheered his name and supported him at the press conference that day, standing below the building.

Yet, at this moment, they had joined the protest, cursing at him without stopping.

"Mutant freak, get down here!"

"Bastard, withdraw the tax law!"

"Get down here!"

Looking at the excited crowd below, Bai Ye tapped lightly on the edge of the balcony and said, "Kingpin, I seem to recall what your actual job is."

"Uh, I'm the chairman of the Value Line Company, currently…" Kingpin answered hesitantly, but Bai Ye cut him off.

"Is that what I meant?" Bai Ye said lightly. "Have you been doing so much legitimate business that you've forgotten your roots?"

"Do these people not know I know kung fu?" Bai Ye looked down at the crowd below. "Are they always this brave?"

"You mean…" Kingpin said cautiously.

"Now, call some people and break their legs. Two, well… break three of them, actually." Bai Ye said with utmost ease.

As he spoke, Bai Ye pulled out his phone, switched to the wide-angle lens, and snapped a panoramic photo of the people below.

"Ah..." Kingpin was stunned for a moment, and said in a low voice, "When?"

"Now, of course. Are we going to let them limp through Christmas?"

"This..." Kingpin hesitated. Under so many eyes, even he wouldn't dare to do something like that.

"Or, you can replace them and break three legs yourself," Bai Ye said slowly, which scared Kingpin into quickly saying, "You're right, I'll arrange for someone to do it right away."

"Remember to choose the people to do it carefully. Don't give them a chance to get compensation," Bai Ye said with utmost kindness.
