The Doom Group, founded by Victor Von Doom, had a strong personal touch.
Outside the company headquarters, a thirty-foot-tall statue of Doom himself stood, ensuring that everyone passing by the building could admire the chairman's imposing figure.
Inside the company, Victor looked at Reed with a serious expression, clearly in disbelief. "I'm stopping investment in this project, and the personal space station will be taken back."
"Why, Victor? Didn't we agree on this before?" Reed looked incredulous, not expecting the project to be shut down after their previous agreement.
"Tell me, what is the purpose of this project?" Victor sat in his chair, hands clasped, his voice even.
"Purpose? Of course, it's to study the composition of cosmic storms, find useful components for the human body, extend human lifespan, and cure diseases," Reed recited word for word, not understanding why Victor was asking this question now.
"What's the difference between this project and Internal Energy?" Victor said coldly. "Compared to the ethereal, magical substances from a cosmic storm, I'm prepared to invest all of the company's funds into the research and development of Internal Energy."
"At least this thing has been proven real, unlike your ethereal project, and it can even cure Hawking's ALS," Victor said coldly.
In front of the two of them lay a copy of Everyone Can Cultivate, and he himself had successfully cultivated a wisp of Internal Energy in a single night.
It wasn't just him; all major biological and pharmaceutical companies had announced their participation in the Internal Energy analysis plan.
The day Bai Ye released information about Internal Energy, the stocks of those pharmaceutical groups plummeted, and they were on the verge of bankruptcy.
If these pharmaceutical companies didn't consider a transformation, the Internal Energy that could grant longevity and cure all illnesses would gut these companies.
Victor's words were reasonable and well-founded, leaving Reed unable to refute him. But this project was the culmination of years of his efforts; he had invested too much to simply give up.
"Victor, please reconsider. We can discuss the matter of profits again. How about I give you 80%?" Reed pleaded.
"Impossible, Reed." Victor said coldly, shaking his head. "Instead, I want to persuade you to join my research project on Internal Energy."
Victor extended an olive branch. "You've always been a genius. Work with us to study Internal Energy."
"Internal Energy is just a type of energy, after all. With your help, we can definitely get ahead of other companies and develop items to store and enhance Internal Energy," Victor said.
"But the Cosmic Storm project is the result of my years of research," Reed said, utterly disappointed.
"It's already a failed project, Reed." Victor declared the project dead. Reed shook his head, dejected, and without heeding Victor's persuasion, walked downstairs.

Walking out of the company, the cold wind on the street cleared Reed's head a little.
\n\n
Regaining some composure, he began to think about how to restart the project, but a calm voice came from the side: "Dr. Reed?"
\n\n
Reed looked up and saw a middle-aged man in a black suit with a gentle smile.
"I'm Reed. Who are you?" Reed asked in surprise.
"You can call me Coulson." The middle-aged man smiled and extended his right hand. "I'm here to invite you to join a project."
Reed waved his hand weakly, declining, "Sorry, I'm not interested in joining any other projects right now."
"Is it because of the failure of the Solar Storm project?" Coulson inquired.
Reed instinctively took a step back, becoming wary. "How did you know?"
Coulson explained, "We want you to participate in the Sentinel Project, which you were involved with for a week. Your creative solution to the multi-ability incompatibility problem was very impressive, so we'd like you to return to the project."
"There are still a few weeks until the solar storm arrives. If you can complete the project's expectations within this time, we can also send you into space to study the solar storm."
"This…" Reed hesitated. "Can you really restart my project?"
"Of course, it's just going into space to collect some data." Coulson said confidently. It was just going to space, not directly to Mars.
"Alright, I agree," Reed nodded in agreement.
"Excellent. This project, like the last, is highly classified. During this period, you are to have no outside contact and cannot discuss the project with anyone."
Coulson smiled. "You have a day to prepare. Shall I send you back to pack?"
"No need. Let's go now," Reed shook his head.
It was just a matter of solving the Sentinel problem. It wouldn't take long. He could write up the research data in a few days and prove its feasibility, then he could return.
Soon, Reed was in Coulson's car. The car slowly started and soon disappeared at the end of the street.
Meanwhile, in the company building, Victor looked at his secretary in shock. The news she delivered made his pupils dilate: "What did you say? Mr. Bai Ye is coming to our company tomorrow to visit? And he's visiting the project Reed just abandoned?"
"That's right. The director of Value Line Company, Wilson, just called to confirm, specifically requesting to visit your abandoned Cosmic Storm project," the secretary said helplessly.
After hanging up the phone, Victor immediately scrolled through his contacts, intending to call Reed, but after several attempts, he couldn't get through. No one answered.
It's over… it's all over. Victor sat on the sofa, his previous coldness replaced with a sinking feeling.
If Bai Ye wasn't satisfied tomorrow, they'd lose a golden opportunity.
"Boss, don't be so disappointed. Bai Ye might just be coming to take a look," his secretary comforted.
"You don't understand anything. Just getting Bai Ye to come is the biggest draw," Victor snapped.
Bai Ye was now a globally recognized figure. If he just toured the company, the news alone would double their stock market value.
And if Bai Ye was dissatisfied, the same would happen in reverse; their company would be finished.
"Damn it, I can't be so disheartened."
Victor's eyes hardened again. He took out his phone and dialed the other participants in the project. No matter what, they had to keep Bai Ye stable.
