On the scene, Magneto looked at Bai Ye, thinking the boss had made a mistake.
Putting George's family into the human world was like planting a huge time bomb.
When he'd wanted to retreat into the mountains in the past, he'd used his powers to save a coworker, only to be reported. This led to his wife's tragic death.
He originally thought Bai Ye was the future of mutants. Magneto was absolutely determined not to let Bai Ye repeat Charles's mistakes.
Thinking this, a ruthless glint flashed in Magneto's eyes. The steel balls swirling in his hands transformed into two swift trajectories, aimed at George and Hela's foreheads.
The steel balls, launched with tremendous force, tore through the air. Their terrifying kinetic energy could easily pierce a human skull. But before they could reach their targets, Bai Ye's hand intercepted them.
Seeing Bai Ye standing in front of them, a wave of intense fear washed over Gwen's family.
They had just walked through the gates of hell.
"Erik, I think you should respect my decision." Bai Ye, holding the deformed steel ball, stepped forward and looked directly at Erik.
He hadn't expected the story he'd spun for Gwen's family to ensnare Magneto as well.
George, as the New York City Police Commissioner, couldn't be kept imprisoned here indefinitely. With Professor X's mental suggestion, it was fine to let them go.
At the same time, this incident showed Bai Ye the uncontrollability of these terrorists, who always assumed things and always wanted to act first and report later.
"You all go up first. Erik and I need to talk alone," Bai Ye said to the others.
After the others had left, he turned to Magneto.
"If you want me to improve the environment for mutants, you should also consider my position."
Bai Ye returned the steel ball in his hand to Magneto's palm. "You're too hasty. Your actions just now didn't solve any problems for me; they made me your enemy."
"That's because your actions are obviously..." Magneto began, but Bai Ye immediately cut him off.
"That's no reason for you to disregard my decisions and act on your own." Bai Ye's tone grew heavier.
"They're just a few ordinary people. There are plenty of ways to handle them. Charles is still up there."
"What I'm trying to tell you is that I carefully consider every decision I make. Even if you think there's a problem, you should consult me privately before acting, not publicly embarrass me."
"My God, even Gwen is better than you in this regard. At least she didn't make a scene when she found out I was cheating. She waited quietly for my explanation later."
Bai Ye said with disbelief, "Are you suggesting I should say in front of Gwen and her family, 'Oh, it's okay, you can leave. Because I'll have Charles mind-control you all later?'"
Magneto's face twitched, but he didn't argue.
"Magneto, if you really want to cooperate with me, I hope there won't be a next time." Bai Ye said sternly, then patted Magneto on the shoulder and walked past him, heading upwards.
Opening the safe house's blast door, Bai Ye smiled and said, "OK, everything is settled. I'll send you back now, and then we'll pretend nothing happened. You just need to keep this a secret."
"As for the captain, you might need to come up with a suitable excuse to cover up your unexplained absence for half a day."
"I'm very sorry for taking up your time for half a day, Gwen. I'll find some time to talk to you privately later."
Bai Ye walked lightly to George's side, putting Gwen's family into the Void Space. Then, he looked at Professor X and said, "I need you to help me with a few things."
Half an hour later, after Bai Ye sent the unsuspecting Gwen's family and the young Rogue, Camilla, back to New York City, he went directly to the Value Line Company headquarters to find Kingpin.
"Mr. Bai, the internet is full of discussions about your mutant identity," Kingpin said, looking at Bai Ye who had suddenly appeared.
Before this, he had called Bai Ye several times, but none of the calls were answered.
Because Bai Ye had left so quickly, without even notifying him, Kingpin hadn't yet realized he'd been abandoned.
"It doesn't matter. The exposure of my identity doesn't affect my next plan," Bai Ye said lightly. "Take these."
As he spoke, with a crisp clatter, five humanoid metal figures were tossed out in front of Kingpin's astonished gaze.
"What are these?"
"These are all Adamantium. You said you lacked this material before to build the hydraulic press. Now the materials are here. How long will it take you to make it?" Bai Ye asked.
"So much alloy?" Kingpin gasped, the amount before him almost equaled Stryker's accumulation over several decades.
"Sir, this Adamantium has been processed once. It will take a great deal of effort to melt it down. It will take at least twenty days to meet your requirements," Kingpin said earnestly.
So slow? Bai Ye was a little dissatisfied. Based on his rate of improvement, in four or five days, the old hydraulic press would be unable to cope. But he also knew this couldn't be rushed, so he nodded to show he understood.
"How's the book situation coming along?" Bai Ye asked.
"No problem at all. The internal energy transactions have tightened our cash flow a bit, but it'll be resolved soon," Kingpin said with a satisfied smile, several wrinkles appearing on his fleshy face.
"Right," Kingpin suddenly remembered something. "In three days, the matter of taxing your books will be discussed at the UN summit. It should pass. Will you be attending?"
"No need. As long as the money arrives, that's all that matters," Bai Ye said indifferently.
The reason for levying the tax was simply because he didn't want others to take advantage of him for free.
Money was just a number to him now. Once he took down the human government, he could add as much as he wanted to his bank account.
"But there is something I need you to handle," Bai Ye slowly walked to the sofa, tapping the armrest lightly. "Have you heard of Victor von Doom?"
"Who? Doom?" Kingpin pondered for a moment. "I seem to have a vague impression. He's the chairman of a new company in recent years. He seems to be preparing to go into outer space to research something. Why are you asking?"
"I'm very interested in their space exploration project," Bai Ye said, tilting his head. "I'd like to meet with him sometime and discuss it."
"Of course, that's no problem," Kingpin agreed at once.
Compared to the now prominent Bai Ye, the Doom Group wasn't much. It was likely they were even more eager for this meeting.
