"No, no," she said quickly, giving him a small smile. "I'm grateful! Really, really grateful but it's something I can handle myself. It's nothing dangerous, I promise."
Evren sighed, his shoulders relaxing just a little, though his expression was still tinged with worry. "I just want you to know," he said quietly, "that if you ever find yourself in trouble, any kind of trouble, I'm here. You can come to me, and I'll be with you."
Willow's chest tightened, warmth spreading to her cheeks. "I will," she said softly, her voice almost a whisper.
Just then, her phone buzzed on the table. She glanced down to see a message from Navian.
[Navian: We are moving out of Nexus. Bring all your gadgets and everything you need.]
Willow frowned, confusion knitting her brows together. She quickly texted back as Evren watched her curiously.
[Willow: Moving out? I thought the mission was tomorrow, and I'm supposed to meet the others tonight.]
[Navian: Yes.]
