Chapter 144: error x king kong: Battle! Awesome! OAA! Death!
"Hmm?!"
Stark's pupils suddenly constricted. Just looking at Superman X's back, he could clearly feel that compared to before, Superman X's current aura held only coldness and a sense akin to madness.
Compared to before, it was as if he had become a completely different person!
"Superman X lost control and went berserk?... No! Superman X's abilities were clearly stripped by that Fake Jesus! Without his abilities, how did Zhou Mo become Superman X again?" Stark's brain was buzzing; there was only one answer left.
It wasn't the same Superman X at all! Zhou Mo had another one! And this one seemed even more evil than the previous one?!
With a dull expression, Stark's heart trembled violently. An evil Superman X?!... What did this mean? Then, thinking of something, Stark took a sharp breath and fixed his gaze on OAA's face. Seeing that this Fake Jesus's expression remained calm, he felt much more at ease.
"It's good as long as this Fake Jesus doesn't show panic. If the evil Superman X loses control and goes berserk, perhaps he can be the one to contend with him." After letting out a sigh of relief, Stark's expression twisted again.
"Then how should the Fake Jesus be handled? Is he really going to be allowed to kill Zhou Mo?" Stark's mind was a mess as he thought about the subsequent developments.
And as Stark saw, OAA showed no reaction to the appearance of Error Superman X. The smile on the Ancient One's face beside him didn't fade in the slightest. It was the same logic: if OAA could suppress Zhou Moonce, he could suppress him a second and third time.
Would it be different just because Superman X changed versions? What a joke!
In fact, even Odin, who was out in Deep Space, thought so. He could understand Zhou Mo saying a few harsh words after using a new ability. But... what use was that?
..."Jesus, my Almighty Lord! Kill this yellow-skinned monkey!"
"Kill him! The United States does not accept an Asian as a national hero!"
"I will follow Jesus forever! I will serve my Lord with all my heart!"
Watching the rapidly scrolling bullet comments, Gwenwas so frightened her face lost its color. She felt as if the malice of the entire World was surging toward Zhou Moalone. Just as she wanted to refute something in her capacity as Spider-Man, the moment her finger touched the screen's input method, the live broadcast scene changed abruptly!
This time, OAA's hand gestures were noticeably faster. He slammed a palm down through the air, and the power of rules, like a giant vortex, dominated the night sky, falling onto Error Superman X's shoulders and constantly battering him.
Without even needing to look specifically, Gwen could see a faint golden light flickering in the night sky outside the window from the corner of her eye. Her lips parted in surprise, speechless.
This range was clearly dozens of times larger than before!
"This blonde man seems to be using the power of rules of the entire city to press down on Zhou Mo..."
In fact, it wasn't just the entire city, nor the entire country, but the entire Universe!
Friday transmitted satellite images back in real-time. Stark saw that like the sea under sunlight, the entire Universe was shimmering with a faint golden light!
"This time he used the power of the entire World?!"
It was as if all the programs on a computer were running at full throttle just to eliminate a single system bug. Stark, who understood this, felt his mind go blank. He completely couldn't understand what the origin of this Fake Jesus was.
While he was dazed and lost, he then saw that the faint golden light flickering in both the night sky and the Universe vanished in an instant. The night sky and the Universe returned to normal, with no more light appearing.
From the start of the flicker until now, only two blinks of an eye had passed. Everything happened so fast that if one didn't look closely, they wouldn't even notice it happened.
Stark, whose thoughts were no longer stalled, turned his head with difficulty and saw that Error Superman X's back was still cold... The smile on the Ancient One's face froze instantly, and her heart skipped a beat.
"Superman X shattered OAA's rules to obliterate him? How is that possible?! It was effective just now, so why can't it suppress him again?!"
In her disbelief, the Ancient One's brain was trembling. Now that OAA's rule power to obliterate Zhou Mo had suddenly disappeared, there was no other explanation except that it had been shattered by this Superman X.
But the Ancient One couldn't figure out why. It was effective just now, so why was it gone now? Could it be... this Superman X is even stronger than the previous one?!
While the Ancient One was dazed, OAA did not hesitate and once again swung endless rule power toward Error Superman X.
"Snap." Error Superman X snapped his fingers: "Cancel."
The rule power, just as it was activated, immediately disintegrated and dissipated.
This time, the Ancient One was shocked beyond measure. It couldn't even be used this time?... What on earth happened?!
Turning to look at OAA, she finally caught a few traces of solemnity on OAA's calm face. The Ancient One's heart felt dead, sinking into despair: "OAA's silence just now wasn't because of calmness, but because he sensed a crisis?! Like a human facing a powerful enemy, showing seriousness due to the pressure of a formidable foe?!"
The Ancient One stood there stunned, her heart almost jumping out of her chest. She just wanted to know what had happened. How did the situation flip in an instant?!
Error Superman X let out a disdainful cold laugh: "I said, you successfully read me, and I also successfully read you."
This nonsensical sentence made the Ancient One turn her head sharply with a panicked expression. She couldn't understand why, but Stark could guess a thing or two, muttering to himself in a daze:
"So everything the Fake Jesus did before was like a computer program reading data on a virus or bug. Once the reading is successful, he can easily obliterate Zhou Mo."
His eyes and mouth widened at the same time, and Starktook a deep breath: "So Zhou Mo's Superman X wasn't being suppressed by the Fake Jesus's power just now; he was reverse-reading the Fake Jesus's abilities through contact?!"
Stark, having guessed some of it, pieced together the general idea. The Fake Jesus, who had successfully read him, could have easily erased Zhou Mo, but just as he was about to do so, Zhou Mo—the virus or bug in his eyes—disappeared and was replaced by this new one.
This meant the Fake Jesus's previous reading was invalid, while Zhou Mo retained his reading of him. This was why Zhou Mo could cancel the Fake Jesus's attack with a snap of his fingers... So the battle between these two supreme beings is a damn computer program brawl?! You invade me, I invade you, just like hackers?... WTF?!"
Error Superman X flew toward OAA and threw a punch. With a muffled "boom," the punch was blocked by OAA's raised hand.
OAA's expression changed slightly due to the rule power impact pulled by this punch, and his jaw tightened silently. Despite this, the punch didn't cause him any damage. Immediately after, Error Superman X threw another punch.
"Boom!"
"Kill! Kill! Kill!" With each punch thrown, Error Superman X's smile became incredibly distorted! That smile made not only the Ancient One but even OAA feel afraid!
In this guy's eyes, there seemed to be only slaughter!
No, it didn't just seem so! There really was only slaughter!
Just looking at that distorted smiling face, the Ancient One was so scared her soul almost flew out of her body! In extremely dangerous situations, Zhou Mo could gain control of Superman X, but that was a process!
There was also a period of gaming and tug-of-war in between. During this time, the Superman X that Zhou Moturned into would still be unable to move.
But this Superman X in front of them was clearly different! The rule power OAA launched just now put him in extreme danger, on the brink of being erased, yet there was no sign of hesitation in his movements!
The Superman X before them had none of Superman X's weaknesses! He could use Superman X's abilities at will!
Even hiding behind OAA, even if OAA could still block Error Superman X's attacks without taking damage, just looking at the distortedly laughing Error Superman Xthrowing rapid punches and feeling the extreme slaughtering aura radiating from him...
The Ancient One was scared pale, her hair standing on end.
Intuition—no, it wasn't intuition! It was the facts before her eyes telling her that this was a madman who took pleasure in slaughter!
"Kill! Kill! Kill! Hahaha, all of you die!"
Hearing Error Superman X's distorted and hearty laughter from above, Stark got goosebumps all over!
He wanted to cry, he really wanted to cry!
He found that Superman X had indeed gone berserk, but the situation wasn't because Zhou Mo lost control; it came more from one inexplicable and terrifying existence after another. With each of their arrivals, Zhou Mo was one step closer to losing control.
Now, under the catalyst of this Fake Jesus and a large number of citizens, the tipping point was broken. Zhou Mohad truly lost control and gone berserk!
"The World was destroyed by you guys who wanted to save it..." The angry curses of the citizens below were still coming. Stark, who was waiting for death in despair, had only this one thought left... In Deep Space, Odin held his breath and watched without daring to breathe. The tension and anticipation in his eyes hadn't faded for a moment since the battle between Error Superman X and OAA began.
"Since the last reading failed, this time, OAA can still continue to read Zhou Mo's new Superman X through combat! When the reading is complete, OAA will still be the victor!" A glimmer of hope lit up in Odin's eyes.
When Error Superman X's offensive stopped and he saw a gleam of joy in the eyes of the backward-flying OAA as he pulled away, Odin felt his guess was correct. OAA had completed the reading of the new Superman X!
However, in the next second, a grinning sentence from Error Superman X sent Odin straight into an ice cellar.
"Almost finished reading, right?"
This single sentence also made OAA's face freeze instantly.
"The new Superman X knows OAA is reading him?" Odinslapped his thigh in frustration, thinking to himself that if he could know it, how could Zhou Mo not know?
"But even so, OAA still has the strength to fight." Odinbegan to comfort himself: "The fact that OAA took so many punches without receiving a single bit of damage is the best proof."
*Crack crack.* Because his fists were clenched tight, the sound of Error Superman X's hand bones cracking rang out.
He flew over and threw another punch. Mid-flight, the surface of Error Superman X's body changed. In that change, rather than looking human, he looked more like a machine.
After recognizing it, Odin's eyes widened: "Energon King Kong?!"
"hamina! hamina!"
When error x king kong roared those words, Odin's blood ran cold. This was the first time he had seen Zhou Mocombine Superman X with the abilities of Energon King Kong.
error x king kong flew past OAA, leaving a headless corpse in his original position.
Looking at the flesh of the head in his hand, error x king kong gave a "Heh": "Battle! Awesome!"
At the same time, the World fell into silence after seeing this.
Chapter 145: Stark:? Error Superman X wants to kill me?!! Superman X, I'm coming for you!
The World fell into silence. Aside from the sound of her own breathing, the Ancient One could only hear the buzzing caused by her brain's tremors. She stared blankly at the error x king kong before her; the flesh and blood clinging to its knuckles were particularly visible.
"How is this possible!" The Ancient One's eyes, already wide, nearly flew out of their sockets.
As she watched, the Ancient One's emotions grew volatile, unable to accept it: "How could OAA be killed so easily by Zhou Mo?!"
Below, the angry curses of the half-believer, half-thug mob continued, but Stark's brain was buzzing, and he could hear nothing. Memories of Zhou Mo feasting in the Villa earlier surfaced in his mind, and Stark suddenly realized that Zhou Mo might have planned this from the very beginning.
If the situation had developed normally, OAA would have successfully suppressed Zhou Mo's strongest Superman X and erased him. At that point, Zhou Mo should have hidden his presence and chosen to evade, just as he had when facing the Ancient One.
But he didn't; instead, he chose to face the enemy head-on. The reason was that he had a backup—another version of Superman X! It was by relying on this Evil Superman X that Zhou Mo achieved his counter-kill.
This also indicated that no matter how strong the Fake Jesus brought by the Ancient One was, he was no match for Superman X?! Stark was dumbstruck with terror.
What supreme creator god? They couldn't even withstand a few punches from Superman X! This is... As he continued to watch, the back of Error Superman X came into view. Stark felt as if his heart was being gripped by a hand, making it impossible to breathe: "Is this version of Superman X stronger or weaker than the original?!"
Stark desperately wanted to know the answer to this question.
In a fleeting moment, the error x king kong looked up at the Ancient One. Every hair on her body stood on end, and she instinctively wanted to retreat. However, before she could react, her head was severed from her body.
The figure of the error x king kong flashed by, holding the Ancient One's head, which still bore its original expression.
A chill swept over Stark, cold sweat pouring down his back and his legs shaking uncontrollably. Looking at the Ancient One's head, for some reason, he felt he might very well be next!
"But... wait! This Evil Superman X seems to be inferior to the original Superman X?" Stark felt he had discovered a clue.
He had seen Superman X execute the Celestials and The Living Tribunal; at that time, he didn't need to move at all, completing the slaughter with just a thought. Now, with the enhancement of the Evil Energon King Kong, the Evil Superman X actually needed to move?
Although this movement was so fast it could be described as teleportation, he still moved! According to Stark's understanding, this was evidence that the Evil Superman X's strength was inferior to the original.
But as soon as Stark thought of this, he became even more terrified! Damn it, killing the supreme Fake Jesusonly required an Evil Superman X that was a notch weaker than the original? This is... if Superman X used his full power, just how strong would he be?
..."Ha... hahaha, damn it!" Odin's face stiffened for a moment before he suddenly burst into self-deprecating laughter. If he didn't think it was pointless, he would have wanted to slap himself twice!
How many times had he fallen for this? Why did he still think Zhou Mo would lose?
"Hahahaha." As if hearing the World's greatest joke, Odin's eyes dimmed, and he clutched his stomach, laughing loudly: "OAA is dead! Is there any point to those little schemes of mine? Everything is meaningless now!"
Now, if possible, Odin wanted Zhou Mo to end him quickly. Of course, if he were merciful enough to let him return to Asgard to see his son one last time before dying, that would be even better.
As he said, after witnessing Zhou Mo kill OAA, Odincould no longer think of any existence that could deal with, or even rival, Zhou Mo. He had become the new supreme being of all Universes. If he wanted to do anything, no one could stop him, not even in the slightest!
In light of this, whether it was his own resignation, the Ancient One's struggle, or the participation Stark wanted to undertake—it all seemed completely meaningless. The key to everything lay only with Zhou Mo, and nothing else!
"Hahahaha!" Odin continued to laugh loudly: "I should be the person in the entire Universe who understands warriors best. A madman cannot become the finest warrior; this must be your genetic defect, right? You are no match for the original Superman X!"
His loud laughter turned into a miserable cackle, and finally, Odin closed his mouth, muttering to himself: "Yes, he's no match for Superman X, but what does that matter now?"
Having finished, Odin lowered his head and looked around; he still wanted to go home.
"Hmm?" The moment he turned his head, a figure surfaced in his mind, and Odin froze. He remembered that while the Ancient One was traversing the Universe, she had encountered a figure who was single-mindedly searching for Superman X.
"Perhaps, he can defeat Superman X?" As soon as the thought appeared, Odin quickly shook his head to dispel it.
"Damn it, how can I still doubt Zhou Mo's ability? Especially Superman X! Yeah, even if that figure really meets Zhou Mo, he will definitely be killed by his Superman X!"
...With the Ancient One's death, blood spilled on the spot.
Stark's brain gradually resumed functioning. The buzzing in his ears vanished, but he could no longer hear the angry curses from below.
Even if this mob of half-believers and half-thugs were idiots, after seeing the error x king kong take the heads of OAA and the Ancient One in succession, they understood that this was not an existence they could touch!
Fear froze their movements; they held their breath and remained silent.
Silence fell over the surroundings once more. Stark's brain was back in gear as he watched the equally motionless error x king kong. Stark also held his breath, not daring to make a sound.
"So what will the Evil Superman X do next... go on a killing spree?" The thought made Stark shiver, and he quickly shook his head: "Based on my understanding of Zhou Mo, he probably wouldn't do that, right?"
Stark remembered that although Zhou Mo had often been unpredictable and performed baffling actions for a long time, he had never harmed the innocent or engaged in a mass slaughter.
Therefore, he speculated that Zhou Mo should be more or less the same now.
"Next, he should deactivate his ability, give these people a harsh lesson to vent his anger, and then let it all end, right?"
Just as he was thinking this, Stark's body suddenly stiffened, and his eyes widened.
It wasn't because he saw Zhou Mo do anything horrific, but because Stark suddenly realized: since Zhou Mo used the Evil Superman X ability, could he still actively deactivate it?!
The next second, the error x king kong turned its head and revealed a hideous face to Stark: "Kill, kill, kill! I'm going to, hahahaha, I'm going to kill you all!"
With that, the error x king kong flew over laughing. Seeing the error x king kong flying toward him, Stark's body couldn't move, and he stood frozen on the spot... in the Universe.
"Hahaha, Superman X! I've found you!"
With a loud laugh, the figure flew toward Earth.
Chapter 146: New Unlock Condition Triggered, PolarisTriggered Polaris's Unlock Condition?
The figure of error x king kong flashed past his peripheral vision. Stark's body stiffened as if struck by an electric shock. The thought "He let me go?" had just arisen when a tsunami of screams surged from below.
"Ah! No! It hurts!"
"Ah! Why can't I see anything? What happened?"
"Don't do this, don't do this, I beg you not to do this!"
Looking down, Stark saw error x king kong transform into error fire man, using flames to incinerate. Within the fire, those dozens of thugs were flailing their bodies, letting out pig-slaughtering screams.
And error fire man was laughing very happily at this!
It felt like he exhaled all the strength in his body in one breath. Watching this gruesome scene, Stark's legs went weak!
As it turned out, humans cannot resist for long under the incineration of flames. In less than two minutes, dozens of thugs were charred black, reduced to charcoal as they collapsed to the ground, no longer moving.
"Then next..." Stark stared blankly at error fire man. The moment he looked over, he saw error fire man looking up at the sky.
"Boom!" Pitch-black flames erupted from beneath his feet. error fire man soared into the sky and vanished in the blink of an eye.
The shaken Stark remained motionless, still gasping for breath. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents, who had already hidden in the Villa, rushed over led by Fury. Arriving at the nearest charred corpse, Fury knelt down and reached out to gently push it.
"Man?"
The corpse made no sound. Fury looked up in despair. Stark was still staring blankly up at the sky.
"He's gone to a place with more people..." Fury was about to ask when his heart sank upon hearing Stark's voice. A place with more people?! Fury instinctively thought of the comments in the livestream.
"Zhou Mo is going to kill them?!"
This was also why Stark believed the evil Zhou Mo had spared him. For someone who loved slaughter, more lives were clearly more exciting than just his own!
"Then next, how should I stop him..." The idea of the Anti-Zhou Mo Armor surfaced in Stark's mind once again... By now, the night was deep, but the prosperous New Yorkwas still brightly lit. On the streets, crowds of people bustled about in a lively atmosphere.
*Crack.* The glass door of a shop was finally broken. A dark hand reached through the opening and unlocked the door from the inside.
As the door was fully opened, a swarm like locusts—a large number of Black men wearing hoodies with their heads lowered—rushed into the store. They quickly grabbed the nearest items and turned to run out at high speed.
The trampling caused an elderly Chinese woman to fall to the ground. She reached out to grab the nearest pant leg, crying out, "You can't do this, this is my shop..."
Before she could finish, a foot kicked her ribs violently: "Shut up, you old bitch!"
The elderly Chinese woman fainted. Freed from the restraint, the Black man ran off in a flash. The same situation was happening everywhere on this street; a glance revealed a complete mess.
Clearly, a large-scale zero-dollar shopping spree was taking place here. Only because the location was Chinatown, the Police action wasn't that swift. Of course, they were only nearly an hour late from the start until now.
"Damn it, it's all Zhou Mo's fault. If he hadn't ignited the emotions of the whole country, how could all this have happened? Why would the Police just sit by and do nothing?"
"Bullshit. Even without Zhou Mo, don't you understand the situation we live in? It was bound to happen sooner or later!"
"That's right. The foundation of the United States is racism. People might be able to cross classes, but they can never change their skin color. But guess what? What is our national character? Hey, damn it, it's rebellion!"
Along with the discussions, a massive crowd of Chinese people came from the end of the street, each wearing a cold smile. Some held baseball bats, some held steel pipes, and one was even swinging a large iron chain.
They continued forward. No orders were needed; whenever they saw the nearest Black or White person, a few Chinese people would briefly break from the group, using the weapons in their hands to bash the other party's head.
The most hardworking among them was a plump middle-aged man in a chef's uniform, swinging a large spatula so hard that sparks flew: "Damn it, I just came here to make some money! I didn't consider you my own people to begin with, but since you're like this, don't blame me... Fuck your mother! Fuck your mother! You still dare to resist! I'll break one of your legs if it's the last thing I do!"
The Black man lying on the ground with his hands over his head was stunned to hear this.
"He fucked my mother? Could he be my mother's new boyfriend?!" The Black man was about to apologize to his future stepfather when a cold voice came from above: "This is the United States."
As soon as the voice spoke, all movement around stopped, and the Black man was able to look up at the sky.
"Heh! So what?!" The chef sneered: "Zhou Mo, so you're a fucking banana too?!"
"...No, my point is, here, we just kill their whole families directly. Breaking legs isn't the trend..."
Hearing error fire man's response, the chef was stunned.
Uh... damn, it really seems to be like that!
Instantly, error fire man's smile turned sinister. As he descended, error fire man switched to error flash star and simultaneously used Dido's ability. Seven error flash stars pounced out from the original body.
The original body rushed straight at the fallen Black man, grabbed one of his legs, and in the blink of an eye, error flash star vanished. Only a bloodstain left by the dragging remained on the road.
The Chinese people were stunned again by Zhou Mo's sudden disappearance; they didn't know where he went. But Stark knew—not only did he know, he could see it!
Captured by satellite footage, error flash star was grabbing the Black man's leg, racing along the road like black lightning! When he stopped, Stark saw that only a bone fragment remained in error flash star's hand!
The visually shocking scene terrified Stark to the extreme.
Ten kilometers! A full ten kilometers! He could even imagine how painful it would be for that Black man to be dragged ten kilometers at high speed, his body rubbing against the asphalt!
The guy was fucking ground down to just a leg bone! It hurts just thinking about it!
And this scene kept repeating. The other clones followed suit, and like a game of Match-3, Black or White people disappeared eight at a time, second by second. The situation reversed as pig-slaughtering screams echoed through the sky from Black and White people, scaring the arriving Police so much they didn't dare move.
It lasted for about half an hour before stopping. Looking again, no other ethnicities could be found on the street except for the Chinese. All that remained were large quantities of bone fragments.
Zhou Mo then disappeared as well, without creating any more slaughter. This allowed Stark to breathe a brief sigh of relief.
"I need to get back and study the Anti-Zhou Mo Armorquickly." Not long after Stark took off, he was called back by Friday.
Zooming out the view, Friday projected the area around Chinatown. Each of the bone fragments was marked by Friday: "Sir, he seems to be conveying some message."
Stark looked and found that there was indeed such an intent, but the bone fragments were pieced together like square patterns; he couldn't understand what they meant.
"Right! Friday, switch to Chinese for scanning."
"Yes, sir."
Switching the patterns to Chinese, sure enough, with Friday's secondary translation, Stark understood the message Zhou Mo left behind.
"Those who offend my China shall be punished, however far away they may be! Those who capture my Chinese people shall be rescued, however far away they may be!" Stark took a sharp breath after reading it; these words sounded so domineering.
However... "pepper soup must be paired with soup dumplings, daokou roast chicken's best match is ice cola, the children of the southern village treat me as old and weak, taking turns with me... WTF, what's the connection?!!"
"Wait! The style of the latter part... isn't it a bit off?!"
...Zhou Mo's consciousness was already struggling with the error watch, and after receiving the reminder from the clumsy watch, he was completely victorious.
Releasing the state, Zhou Mo thought to himself: "This state really shouldn't be used too often."
"But... another alien hero form's unlock condition has been awakened?"
At this moment, Zhou Mo, who had flown here following the sensation, looked down and immediately saw a green-haired, flat-chested White girl gazing up at him solemnly.
"Mutant Polaris? The alien hero she awakened is also Polaris?"
Chapter 147 Polaris: I Accompany You for "That," and Only Then You'll Help Me?
Zhou Mo landed with his hands in his pockets. "It seems you were looking for me."
"Yes, Mr. Zhou Mo!" Polaris's expression instantly turned to one of anticipation. Seeing Zhou Mo walking ahead without a care, she kept her eyes on him and hurried to catch up. "I've been watching you for a long time! I think you are..."
"Wait," Zhou Mo interrupted calmly. "I'm not Zhou Mo."
The anticipation in Polaris's eyes cooled. "Not Zhou Mo?"
How was that possible? She had followed him all this way; how could she be mistaken? This was clearly the Asian youth, Zhou Mo.
In her confusion, Polaris blurted out, "Then who are you?"
"David," Zhou Mo replied flatly.
"David?" Polaris's brow furrowed. Could this be another Mutant who had transformed into Zhou Mo's appearance?
"Yes, my name is David, surname Dai."
Polaris was stunned for a moment. "David Dai?"
Regardless, Polaris didn't believe anyone would dare to impersonate Zhou Mo. Regaining her serious demeanor, she said, "Zhou—forget it. Anyway, Mr. David Dai, I need you!"
Zhou Mo didn't respond and continued walking. His long legs, suited to his 1.93-meter height, made it a bit difficult for Polaris to keep up.
"As a member of a minority, you should know the survival environment of your people! Please believe me, as a Mutant, I can empathize."
Zhou Mo searched his memory for information regarding Polaris. It was indeed as he remembered: after Magnetowent out to buy milk for Polaris, he never returned, leaving her all alone.
In a society that hated Mutants, Polaris had been imprisoned several times and suffered a great deal of persecution. During that time, she also met many other Mutants and joined the Mutant resistance organization.
To some extent, in the United States, Mutants and minorities did occupy the same ecological niche.
"I also hope you realize that a fish that has come ashore is no longer a fish, just as our ancestors walked onto land and completed their evolution."
"This World should be led by a superior race! And..." Polaris thought for a moment and swallowed the word "ruled," deciding it wasn't the right time to say it.
Zhou Mo stopped and looked back, uninterested. The fanaticism Polaris displayed was exactly like her anti-social father. She truly was Magneto's daughter; you're certainly Old Wan's seed.
"I refuse."
Hearing this, Polaris also stopped, saying in disbelief, "You choose to betray your own kind?"
In Polaris's view, Mutant World domination was only one crucial step away—Zhou Mo. His refusal meant the failure of the great Mutant cause. How could he refuse? He was a Mutant too!
Zhou Mo looked mournfully into the distance. "I haven't found my kind yet."
Sweeping her gaze up and down Zhou Mo, Polariscrossed her arms and sneered. "What race are you then?"
Anyone could see he was Asian. In Polaris's eyes, Zhou Mo was clearly just making up an excuse to reject her.
Zhou Mo turned his head to look at Polaris, the sorrow on his face unabated. "I am of the Wei Zhen race."
"..."
Polaris was momentarily stunned. Not the Asian Zhou Mo? But David Dai of the Wei Zhen race?
...Who was he kidding! Did he take her for a fool?!
Controlling the magnetic field, Polaris leaped in front of Zhou Mo. Turning around, her aura shifted abruptly as she gritted her teeth and said, "If I can't recruit you, then I will use my life to wake you up!"
Zhou Mo took a sharp breath inwardly. Hiss~ Was this the legendary "if you don't agree, I'll die right in front of you" routine?
The point was, who cared whose daughter she was? He had no relationship with her; would her death affect him at all?
It was confirmed. This girl looked like she had just reached adulthood. Being this crazy, she was definitely Old Wan's offspring.
At the moment the magnetic field was manipulated, the magnetic forces from all directions allowed Polaris to charge up quickly.
"Swish~"
It was Zhou Mo's usual wave of the hand, but even with Polaris's effort, she only managed to make an underground wire burst from the soil and whip toward Zhou Mo. It was so slow that Zhou Mo easily dodged it with a side-step without even needing to transform.
Yeah, this girl seemed to be in her infancy.
Knowing Zhou Mo's strength, Polaris wasn't surprised that he had so easily dodged her full-effort strike. She only gritted her teeth and thought to herself, "He's so strong!"
Similarly, she controlled the wrist-thick wire to attack several more times. After Zhou Mo dodged them all, sweat dripped from Polaris's forehead as she panted, "You... you're so strong. Don't you want to do something more meaningful?"
Zhou Mo's mouth opened and closed, hesitating to speak.
Strong? Even an elementary schooler who could jump rope could dodge that. Did this count as being strong?...Wait! Could this girl be like Stark, a fool with intellectual issues?!
Back at the backup Base, Stark inexplicably let out a massive sneeze... After controlling all the cans in a roadside trash bin to throw at Zhou Mo and having them all dodged, Polaris could no longer find any way to attack. The only wire she could control was currently being stepped on by Zhou Mo.
Polaris had finished "unlocking," and Zhou Mo had no interest in playing any longer. The distance between them wasn't far, and under the moonlight, Polaris's pretty face was glowing with a faint light. Seeing this, Zhou Mo, who had intended to leave, had an idea.
"How about this: if you agree to one condition, I'll help you."
Polaris's eyes lit up. "What condition?"
"..."
Upon hearing it, almost instantly, Polaris's face turned red all the way to her ears.
"???"
"You want me to accompany you for 'that,' and only then you'll help me with 'that'?!"
"Yes. You can refuse." Moving his foot away, Zhou Moprepared to leave. He didn't like forcing people.
Polaris said nothing, but with her head lowered and lips pursed, she walked to Zhou Mo's side with a bright red face.
"I... I agree."
"Alright, then let's go back and do 'that'."
Chapter 148 – Polaris: Zhou Mo, are you out of your mind?
In the living room, Polaris swayed to the beat, dancing an otaku routine. Her hands lifted above her head as if cuffed, her face reluctant, yet the roll of her hips showed off every curve of her body.
What little chest she had could be ignored; those long, straight, slender legs were enough to rivet every gaze in the room.
The maid dress's short skirt framed milky skin, faint veins visible on the flawless thighs.
Zhou Mo, seated on the sofa, watched attentively and mused, Now that's what they call legs worth a lifetime of play.
Still not as good as… daokou roast chicken.
Feeling Zhou Mo's eyes and guessing his silent critique, Polaris, mortified, flushed crimson and looked away.
When the song ended and the music stopped, she walked over panting. I did what you asked—I put on the maid outfit. Now it's your turn to keep your promise!
Zhou Mo blinked and stood. What promise?
Polaris froze, then exploded. Help Mutants rule the World!
Hah. I'm asking what promise you've kept.
I said you'd serve me as a maid. One dance doesn't count. What kind of cadre folds after a test like that?
At his retort Polaris blinked, confused. He really had said that—but wasn't this enough? Did that mean she'd have to… Her eyes widened, face scarlet. He wants to sleep with me? This lech!
When Zhou Mo's hands suddenly touched her skin she jolted, hugging her shoulders and leaning back.
He kept going, snarling, I think you stole something from me!
With a rip he tore a piece of her clothing away.
Her snowy shoulder exposed, Polaris panicked. N-no! What could I steal? I've been in front of you the whole time!
Zhou Mo glared. Don't care. I'm searching you.
Hearing that, Polaris started to protest, then understood. He just wants to sleep with me! she thought coldly.
Conflicting thoughts collided—her innocence on one side, the future of Mutants on the other.
After weighing them, she clenched her teeth and shut her eyes. Fine—search.
Wearing only a bikini, Polaris crouched hugging herself, watching Zhou Mo walk back to the sofa, so wronged she wanted to cry. What does this guy even want?
This chick is broke, he muttered, stuffing the dozen-odd dollars he'd found into his pocket. My TV remote's missing—you must've swiped it. Where'd you hide it?
Meeting his eyes as he sat down again, Polaris gaped, so furious her vision blurred. She barely stopped herself from shouting, Are you insane?
Why on earth would I steal your TV remote??
And it's huge—where could I possibly hide it?!
Zhou Mo rubbed his chin, then nodded seriously. Hmm, I've been wondering the same thing.
…
Polaris looked as if she'd lost faith in life itself.
He's got to be nuts! I trekked all this way to steal a remote? And why assume I took it just because he can't find it?
That's why I had to search you—you must've hidden it! When he stood again she nearly fainted from rage.
I'm in nothing but underwear—where could I hide it? You pervert!!
She drew a deep breath and asked grimly, That's not the real reason. What do you actually want?
Zhou Mo stopped mid-step, blinked, and said, Your dad—is he loaded?
…
Polaris's brain crashed. Money? That's what he wants?
She tried to process it: a powerhouse like Zhou Mo, after cash like some mercenary?
Watching his gleaming eyes, she doubted it. That would be as absurd as the human torch saying he's freezing or Stark worrying no woman likes him.
Someone at his level had outgrown such base interests; he couldn't want money.
Then what? she wondered, turning away coldly. I don't know. Frankly, I don't know who my dad is.
Zhou Mo sulked back to the sofa.
They still haven't reunited? Magneto has legions and plenty of funds—what a shame he couldn't shake down the old man's daughter. Why haven't those two acknowledged each other?
…Polaris's eyes lit as it dawned on her: he wants me, not money. Cash is vulgar and easy; his kink is clearly lust—why else make me wear a maid outfit?
Since he'd declined even after she agreed, he must like being pursued. Rich folks have quirky tastes.
So she rose confidently and strode over like a supermodel. If she'd decided to offer herself, why not take the lead?
Watching her approach, Zhou Mo sighed. If only she and Old Wan reunited—he could extort a fortune, definitely worth at least one Surtur!
Know how to get rich? he asked.
Oh? Polaris arched a brow, fingers trailing from her jaw like a stripper. How?
Looking up at the tall girl, Zhou Mo intoned, First, ordinary people must change their mindset—rich people think in reverse. We have to copy them. Remember this; remember this point.
Her hand froze halfway to his shoulder, her smile stiffening.
What… is he saying?
Second, he continued earnestly, if commoners want to flip their lives fast, they must sleep on their side!
…
Seeing her look thoughtful, he grew more serious. Third: no difficulty is difficult!
Wasn't that just empty drivel?
Fourth: wealth builds up by accumulating!
Fifth: use double-result methods to get double results!
Sixth: cut off people on different frequencies—phone bills are pricey.
…
Ninth: ordinary drinks and cola differ because one gives a straw and one doesn't.
Tenth: behind every successful woman is a spine!
Done, Zhou Mo exhaled contentedly. Remember these ten points. When you're rich and famous, don't forget your mentor.
…
Black lines streaked Polaris's forehead.
He spoke as if he'd actually said something.
So, are we doing this or not? She set her hand on his shoulder and asked quietly.
Chapter 149 – Stark: Polaris, are you still just controlling magnetism?!
Zhou Mo's gaze slid from her hand to her face. "What is it?"
Polaris's cheeks flushed. "It's just… just…" No matter how hard she clenched her teeth or how red her face burned, she couldn't force the words out. A freshly legal, utterly inexperienced girl, she simply couldn't blurt out the dirty thoughts running through her head the way a seasoned driver might.
Zhou Mo looked away and shook his head. It wasn't that he lacked lust—Americans were famously casual about their private lives, and if he wasn't her first and she gave him something nasty, he'd have only himself to blame.
Old Wan's money was clearly the safer aphrodisiac.
Besides, his dear buddy Professor X was loaded too.
Zhou Mo stood. "I'm going to reunite father and daughter."
Polaris frowned, stunned. She'd lied when she said she didn't know who her father was; she knew a bit about Magneto, currently locked in some specially built dungeon.
She also knew fishing Magneto out of a maximum-security hole would be child's play for Zhou Mo. Still… meeting the dad she'd never laid eyes on? That made her balk.
She turned her face toward her clothes. "I don't want to see him."
"Yes, you do."
"I don't!"
"You do."
"…" Words failed her.
Seeing her silent, Zhou Mo triggered Polaris-mode with a thought.
Polaris stared, startled, as the clothes she'd just taken off flew into her arms under magnetic control.
"You can manipulate magnetic fields too?!"
The Polaris-copy of Zhou Mo shrugged. "Hardly rocket science."
Snapping out of it, Polaris dressed quickly, eyes never leaving him. She hadn't agreed because she suddenly yearned to meet Magneto—she wanted to see what else Zhou Mo could do.
If he met other imprisoned Mutants in that form, persuading him to join their side would be so much easier.
"Hah, fine. I know who my daddy is—my power kind of gives it away." She zipped her jacket, talking faster.
"But honestly, when it comes to raw magnetism, I'm not in Dad's league—and neither are you." She glanced at Zhou Mo. "Nobody beats him."
"He can fling satellites around in Outer Space—nuts, right? Just letting him out would be huge for us Mutants."
She sounded proud. Magneto was a titan; even among the heavy-hitters in the X-Men you could count on one hand those who could stand against him. No Mutantwould deny it.
Zhou Mo pursed his lips and looked away.
Old Wan was strong, but bragging about it in front of me? Cute.
Outside, Zhou Mo tested his new power, lifting himself on a magnetic cushion. One step out the door and he changed his mind… Avengers backup Base.
Dawn was breaking. Tony Stark, wired on caffeine, hammered away at holographic keyboards, wide awake.
Suddenly Friday's avatar popped up: a figure had pierced the Atmosphere from Outer Space and was plummeting toward Earth.
Stark froze. "Another alien?!"
He started to order a scan, but before the words left his mouth the world spun; everything shook violently.
The tremor lasted a heartbeat, gone before "earthquake" even formed in his head.
"Friday, was that a quake?" He squinted at the screen; the silhouette had vanished—possibly because of the shake.
"After scanning relevant agencies, no, sir. Earth's rotation briefly accelerated several-thousand-fold. That caused the jolt."
"Earth spun faster by thousands of times in an instant?!" Stark's nerves tightened. "So that figure—"
"Probably not him, sir. I've located the source of the rotation spike."
Before she finished, aerial footage filled the screen: a green-haired girl and a… head floating above a neckless robot?
Stark frowned. "Same silhouette?"
He didn't need Friday; the clumsy watch logo on Polaris's chest made him jolt: "Zhou Mo?!"
On-screen, Zhou Mo's new power and the green-haired girl touched down. With a wave, distant iron fencing whipped over and mummified approaching guards.
Stark's eyes bulged. "Zhou Mo's new trick is magnetism?!"
In his mind he replayed it: the pair hovering, Zhou Mocranking Earth's magnetic field, the planet itself shifting while they stayed still—pseudo-teleportation.
Stark's face twitched in disbelief.
Moving yourself by moving the whole damn planet… seriously?
Even Polaris thought it was insane—Earth reduced to a desktop globe in Zhou Mo's hands.
Her mighty dad could yank satellites in Outer Space; Zhou Mo's magnetism moved the entire Earth.
Absolutely nuts.
The remaining guards were pushovers; seconds later the pair stood before Magneto.
Zhou Mo decided this was a family moment and shelved talk of money for now.
During the awkward Q&A that followed, one snippet hooked his attention.
"Huh? Polaris has never dated?!"
Meanwhile, having learned the location, Stark rocketed over.
