Chapter 3 - Heaven's Gathering

We had gotten the keys to the place we were to stay. The angel had informed us of two things:

It was a temporary residence situation.

We were rooming in twos.

Jessie and I now looked for where our house was.

The angel had given us a card that had the directions to the house in it.

As we went looking for our house, we saw buildings made mostly of diamond and emerald.

There were other people around us who appeared to be talking loudly but the sound reached my ears as music.

When we finally found the place we were to stay, we saw an angel waiting at the door.

She had a petite figure and looked a bit different from the angels I'd seen so far.

"I will be your guide for the next three days, you'll both be rooming together," she said.

"This is Liz and my name is Jessie," Jessie said to the angel before us.

"I'm Tina," she said to us with a smile.

"Now let's get you both ready for the gathering," Tina continued.

"What gathering is that?" Jessie asked.

"You'll find out soon enough," Tina said.

She pulled us into the house and my mouth went wide. The interior of the house was beyond what I could ever dare imagine.

It was decorated with more exquisite paintings that looked realer than real.

The house also had a scent I couldn't place. It was not perfume. It was an aroma that was the air itself. As though both couldn't be separated.

And there was a sound I also couldn't make out. I could only place it as music moving within the scented air around it.

All this was supposed to overwhelm me but I felt peace in this place.

I turned to look at Jessie. She too was amazed beyond words. Her face said everything and I laughed. A sound of music to my own ears.

Tina pulled us into a room and the next few hours were spent chatting and laughing and getting ready for the gathering.

When she was done with both Jessie and I, she brought out a mirror for us to look in.

I was unrecognizable.

Skin glowing, eyes shimmering, hair glistening like honey. Who was this before me?

And the clothes made everything a thousand times better.

It was made with a strange material. Cloud like with color but still had texture like clothes I wore on earth did.

Jessie also looked enchanting, her dress almost similar to mine.

Tina then asked for a minute to get herself changed.

"When I'm finished, we'll then proceed to the gathering,"

She left and Jessie and I were once again left to ourselves.

"I think we should take a tour of the house before Tina is done getting ready," Jessie suggested.

The next few moments were spent exploring.

We saw rooms upon rooms and strange objects upon objects. Gems of different shapes and sizes on the walls in a glorious pattern.

The only thing I could recognize were the gems, books and paintings. The other objects were new to me. Jessie also said the same.

"It's time. Let's go ladies," Tina said to us across the room we were exploring.

I took one look at her. She was even more beautiful than before. There was a sort of aura around her now that wasn't there before.

She took both our hands and we walked to the place where the gathering was to take place.

************************************************

Everyone was gathered around in a large circle.

There were two angels in the middle. The male angel looked at the female and she nodded.

"Welcome to heaven," she said.

"Everyone has finally arrived. This is one of the buildings where this meeting is being held," she continued.

"There are other places as well where an angel is speaking to the others at this very moment," she said.

"I'm glad you made it here. And you won't regret having chosen heaven," the female angel said. Then she took a step back.

The male angel stepped forward and started to address us.

"Now as the angel told you before you were given your houses, it is going to be a temporary residence," he said.

"Your permanent residence will be given to you soon. But, you have a task to perform before that." he continued.

There was a bit of murmuring around but it stopped after a few moments. And then he continued addressing us.

"Before you are given your permanent residence. You will be required to find a lover. This task is important because this is the person you'll be spending eternity in heaven with. You need to choose wisely,"

I looked around and saw people smiling at each other.

"You have three days to complete this task. If you can't complete it by the end of those three days, you will be taken to another part of heaven," he said finally.

And both the male and female angel flew out of the building leaving us with silence and an occasional bit of murmuring. Leaving me with my thoughts.

I knew what I had to do.

I had to find him.
