The world had finally come to an end. My family had all gone. To heaven or hell I didn't know. They might even have been taken to purgatory for all I knew. I stepped out of our family home. There were some people on the streets of our town waiting for their fate to be decided.
Where would I go to? I thought to myself.
I hope it's heaven.
Before the world ended, I sensed it and ran all the way to our church.
"Father, please I need you to hear my confession," I said to the priest.
I confessed my sins. Still am I safe? What if the creator decided that I had to pay for my sins despite my confession. This was my worry.
I saw my friend Livia with her family. I waved at her. They all looked really worried.
I went back into the house and sat on the chair with my Bible. I read the Psalms, one after the other. I started to dose off. Then I slept.
When I opened my eyes, it was a different environment all together.
There was a chair in a hallway. I was seated on the chair with several others. Some looked worried, some scared, some confident.
I looked out through one of the windows and saw clouds. A building on the clouds?
"Elizabeth," a voice rang through the hallway. I searched for the speaker.
My eyes stopped on a being with wings. He was an angel. He was standing at the end of the hallway.
"Yes," I said.
"Come forward," he replied.
I walked to the place where he stood.
He proceded to call other names and they too came forward and stood waiting for the next command. We were five.
"Step into this elevatorium," he pointed at an elevator. We all entered the elevator awaiting our fate. Before it shut, he said to us.
"There are three floors. Your name will be shown on the elevator walls when you get to your floor."
And then the elevator doors shut.
When we got to the first floor, there were two names written on the walls, Priyanka andJohn.
They both stepped out of the elevator. I tried to look out to see what their stop looked like. But there were white clouds everywhere that obstructed my vision.
The elevator doors shut and carried three of us to the next floor. My heartbeat raced. I was so nervous.
Please not hell or purgatory, please.
We reached the next floor. My name appeared on the wall of the elevator. I stepped out into white clouds.
The elevator door shut.
I was scared as I walked forward.
Suddenly the clouds cleared up. I saw a door. I opened it and walked into an office.
In the office sat a woman. She was a human like me. I looked at her expecting to see a different being.
She wasn't different.
She saw me staring and pointed to a door beside her desk.
I quickly walked forward. I opened the door and went in.
I saw a big hallway with people walking around with bags and clothing items.
I looked up and saw a banner that read, Welcome to heaven.
I smiled and ran in.
