*Chapter 8: The Unexpected Care*
Mira slowly opened her eyes, groggily taking in her surroundings. She was in a luxurious room, with plush carpets and lavish furnishings. A figure sat beside her, watching her with an unreadable expression.
As her gaze met Leo's, she tried to scramble away, but a sharp pain shot through her head, making her wince. Leo's eyes narrowed, and he reached out to gently brush a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Easy, Mira," he said, his voice surprisingly gentle. "You've been out for a while. You need to rest."
Mira's eyes widened in shock as Leo began to tend to her, bringing her food and water, and even helping her sit up. She couldn't understand this sudden change in him.
"Why are you being nice to me?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Leo's expression turned cold again. "I'm not being nice, Mira. I'm just keeping you alive... for now."
Mira's eyes dropped, and she ate the food he offered her, trying to gather her strength. She knew she had to escape, but with Leo's unpredictable behavior, she wasn't sure what to expect.
As she finished eating, Leo stood up, his eyes glinting with amusement. "You're looking better. Maybe now you'll be more... cooperative."
Mira's heart sank as Leo walked out of the room, leaving her with more questions than answers. What did he want from her? And how could she escape from this prison....
