"Pierre! We're going to be late," local police officer, Sasha Valente, yelled.
"I am coming! Don't you worry Sasha, I did not forget about our patrol today!" Pierre said with a smile.
"I wouldn't be surprised if you did," she sighed, " hurry up."
Pierre stopped to look at his badge on the table. It still felt crazy to him that he had finally become an officer, after all those years of training..
He heard Sasha calling out once again, so he grabbed the badge, and his gun, and rushed outside.
"So uhh, do you think I could drive today?" Pierre asked his mentor hesitantly. He was following behind her, still fixing himself.
"As long as I'm in the car with you, no, you will not drive," Sasha sighed, she'd already told him this many times before, "I don't plan on meeting an early doom because of your reckless driving."
"That was one time! I just got distracted for a little bit, it wasn't anything too serious."
"Not too serious?! You crashed into a tree and caused a fire!"
"You do not have to make it sound so bad."
"You're lucky you weren't an officer back then, or you would've been in trouble, but I guess, since it was on your property and was your car, you didn't get into legal trouble."
"Wow, I know what you are hinting at. You won't ever let me forget that my parents didn't let me go anywhere alone for months."
"Deserved, lol."
"It wasn't my fault! I am not to blame!"
"Yeah, it was the fault of the infamous racoon that jumped onto your windshield and tried to attack you."
"I'm telling you, it was real!"
"You were only there because your mom was visiting mine," Pierre sighed, "you shouldn't have been there, then you wouldn't be able to tease me like this."
"No, be glad I was there," Sasha grinned, "who helped put the fire out and get you out the car."
"Well now, who's wasting time?"
"Fine, just get in the car," Sasha sighed, "this place really does hate me, they proved it by having me mentor you."
"Ha ha, very funny. Where are we going Sash, I know you wanna get a little afternoon snack."
"That new cafè, Sugarlooped, sounds good, I heard they've got the best milkshakes and cookies."
"That sounds good! It's always nice to try something new!"
With that, they drove off towards the café.
Not a thought of what's to come, infact, no one could know what was to come.

Yeah, it was that unexpected, almost sci-fi like.
…
That is the genre of this book, right?(ー_ー;).

After a few minutes of silence, Pierre decided to break it.
"Sash, ... who is Jabhile? I see her everywhere with you."
Sasha's knuckles turned white in the steering wheel, "..With me? Everywhere?"
"Yes, and everytime I ask who she is, she turns and walks away. One time, she did answer me, it was very cryptic tho, she said that her name was Jabhile, but she also said, 'she can't let go, so neither can I,'. Yes, it might sound weird for me to say this, but I know she's not real, shes like 'haunting' you right."
Sasha took a deep breath, "Pierre, ignore her. Whenever you see her, ignore her. Even if she stares at you, even if she talks to you, ignore her."
"I will, but why? Who is she? Why is she with you?"
Sasha tried to drown out his questions, she didn't want to remember, his curiosity was not helping. That happened years ago, why did she have to remember? Why? Why? Why? Why? WHY-
"... Did she die your friend?"
Sasha swerved to the side and parked on the grass near the road, breathing heavy. That caught her off-guard. No, no, she wasn't real, she was just a mere figment of her imagination. A consequence of not grieving properly. Years had passed, Sasha knew this, no amount of therapy seemed enough to get rid of her. At some point, she just stopped going, what was the point? She just went with the act that everything was fine, what a good actor she was.
"Sash!"
"I'm sorry! What's wrong? Sasha!"
The silence seemed to stretch for an eternity.
Cars passed them, creating wind through the driver's open window.
"Pierre..," Sasha finally managed to whisper through shaky breaths, "I think you can drive the rest of the way there."
