Chapter 2 - Chapter 1

-2025-

"Pri!" a cheerful voice called after her friend.

"How's it going, Ly? Wait, where's Mike? I thought he was with you?" Prisha, better known as Thea, asked.

"He left his phone in English and had to go get it," Lyrah said with a sigh.

"He's lucky no one's stealed,... uh, stolen it yet, I've lost count of how many times he forgot it," she finished, hanging her head in embarrassment.

"Exactly what I said!" Lyrah agreed laughing at her friend, "but anyways, he said he'll meet us at the gate, I wouldn't be surprised if he's already there, I'm telling you, he's the fastest guy in our grade."

"Oh please! He's not that fast, I could still beat him."

"I know, that's why I said he's the fastest guy."

"Oh, damn."

"S-"

"Ayy, hows it going guys?" a boy asked appearing behind them, unintentionally cutting Lyrah off.

"Great until a second ago," Thea muttered, sighing as she stared ahead.

"Really, Isha? Why so negative?" Terrance smirked, "Heyy, I know what can cheer you up! I just found a new place that needs a little art!"

"Exactly why my day got bad," Thea sighed heavily, "I knew something was up when I heard you being so excited. No, I am not down to graffiti that new Café downtown."

"How did you know what I was talking about?!" Terrance complained, "you always know what I'm going to target next, even if it don't say it out loud."

"Uhh, Eran … , maybe because you're so predictable," Lyrah chimed in.

"Hai man, this isn't right," Terrance shook his head.

"Wait, Pri, are you serious about not joining us?" Lyrah asked looking back at Thea.

"Yes, I've never been more serious. Going with you guys is basically babysitting, and I'm not even getting paid for it! I always have to get you out of trouble, but today? Today, I just want to stay in my bed, watch some YouTube, eat snacks and sleep."

With that, she walked off towards her mother's car, which had just arrived.

"Well shit, that ain't good, we need her," Terrance said sadly.

"True, but we can still manage without her, just for one day. Sooo… what time are we meeting up?"

"I think by 4pm should be good, I'll bring the paint," Terrance replied.

"I mean, duh. Do I look like I have spray paint?"

"Oh come on! Why are you and Thea being so mean to me today."

"Buddy, if you think that's mean, … I don't know what to say to you," Lyrah sighed.

"Ok, ok, you know what? I'm out, see ya later Ly," Terrance said as he got on to his motorbike, revving the engine before speeding off.

"That damn show-off," Lyrah muttered, "he knows that he's the only one who's allowed to ride their bike alone, and he loves rubbing it in our faces."

"Well, I guess I'm gonna have to wait here a bit longer on my own," she sighed, "today isn't the first day she was late."

She sat around, staring at the cars go by. Thirty two white Polo's in 40 minutes, that was a new record.

Yes, she waited 40 minutes after school ended.

I won't lie, I feel bad for her.
