Finally 15k words lol.

"Hahh..hahha…t-time out..!" I was almost out of breath as I was trying my fastest speed while I was chasing Agnes.
It took a few minutes for my stamina to drain, while using my top speed and I was sweating all-over my body.
Even with my superhuman stamina, running at my top speed without taking a break was taking a toll out of me.
Thankfully she heard my plea, and stopped running and said. "Your stamina is nothing short of amazing, keeping that kind of pace for a few minutes is already unbelievable for a human, nay you're no longer a human with that kind of speed."
Agnes was barely sweating, or she didn't have any. It was hard to tell, but one thing this 'race' barely winded her.
If she has this monstrous amount of stamina, It makes me wonder who will be able to keep up with her in bed as it's certainly not me.
Certainly not me, she'd dominate me in an instant.
For the wrong reasons, I was determined to upgrade my total breathing concentration to mastery as soon as I received proficiency points.
Then as I was catching my breath I realized that my system gave me a few quests and I didn't even realize it until now.
[ Quest - Best Agnes Tachyon in racing. ]
[ Reward - 5 Proficiency Points ]
[ Difficulty - Easy ]
[ Status - In progress ]
It makes me wonder if the word 'failing' exists in any of my quests. As far as I'm concerned there's no time limit or special conditions.
Clearly I lost in our recent race, but the fail button was nowhere to be seen.
It's basically unlimited tries until I beat her, and that was a good thing.
And the other quest was surprising.
[ Quest - Eliminate the anomaly in this world. ]
[ Reward - 3 Proficiency Points ]
[ Difficultly - Easy ]
[ Status - In Progress ]
Damn, my system also gave me a quest to hunt this system user, aren't they supposed to be kins?
But apparently I'm thinking too much, as it didn't care if I killed this fellow system user and it gives me a reward for doing it.
Certainly not complaining.
Still, if the difficulty says it's easy then the anomaly must be weaker than me or at least in the level where I could beat them with ease.
After catching my breath, I looked back at Agnes and asked. "Say, even if we know that the anomaly is close. How do we identify which individual is the anomaly? It would take a lot of time to guess who they could be, as we don't expect to have their portrait or at very least a description of how they look."
"Ah, that's simple. Our phone has an inbuilt anomaly detector."
Hearing that almost immediately I felt shiver at my spine, and started paling a bit at those words.
I did everything that I could to remain calm, even if it's a facade and said. "Oh? That's pretty convenient."
"I know right? If it wasn't for this feature, it would probably take forever for us to find these anomalies." Agnes took her phone from her pocket and showed it to me.
It was very identical to mine, as expected after all it came from the same source.
Although hers has some decorations, she treats it like her own phone, I mean it is technically hers, but using it as your main one is no brainer.
But regardless of my complaints, the group chat phone is pretty great, it works way better than any phone available in the market . It's decades if not centuries ahead, not to mention that unlimited storage.
Then she continued her explanation. "Our phones would alert us if we were about a 100 meters closer to the anomaly, so the people within that radius are most likely the anomaly."
I looked at her phone and noticed a glaring flaw and thought. 'How come it didn't alert her when I'm literally less than a meter away from her.'
My major worry disappeared as soon as I realized that the phone couldn't detect me as an anomaly.
And I have a few theories as to why it didn't.
The first is simply because I'm different from the rest of those system users, flattering but I'm not foolish enough to believe I am special of any sort so it's very unlikely.
Second is that because I am part of the group chat, it invalidated my presence as an anomaly, which was a very likely scenario.
Or lastly, to simply put the phone could only detect one anomaly at the time and it would only work in this world's anomaly and not the anomaly from another world.
If that's the case then this phone itself was flawed or maybe it was meant to be that way, who knows but either of this theory was favorable to me.
My identity as an anomaly could not be exposed this early as I have no means of defence if I was ever found out.
I'm still way too weak.
"That's pretty neat, but a challenge If we were to find a group of people we still have to be sure which one is the target, it's not like we could eliminate all people from that radius just to find out who is the anomaly."
"True enough, while I might not be a champion of justice but certainly wouldn't kill an innocent bystander, or else it would make me no different from these anomalies." Agnes said while looking at me with her mesmerizing pair of eyes.
Honestly, I begin to doubt whether it has in-built hypnotic abilities, but it's just me being fascinated by it.
"Well, I think we should begin with tracking some survivors for a start, who knows it might lead us to the anomaly and if not, then we're at least saving people from this hell-hole."
"A great idea!" Agnes was 100% with this plan.
And so we started looking for survivors across the city, with our superhuman speed it didn't take long for us to find some.
"Look, there's people nearby!" I pointed in a specific direction, since obtaining the total breathing concentration technique my eyesight improved significantly as I could see crystal clear what usually is hard to see for a normal human being with 20/20 hindsight.
In fact, Agnes seemed to have the same superhuman. "I see them, a pair of mother and daughter."
From what we see, the mother was running with all of her might while also carrying her daughter who is nothing more than a toddler.
It was pretty clear that the woman was getting exhausted, the zombies themselves weren't really fast, they're mostly walkers, if it wasn't the case I'd doubt they would have survived this long.
But despite that, the zombies were catching up.
"We should interfere before it's too late." I dashed in the direction where the family of two were.
Agnes followed my lead, while we're on our way, I noticed a bloody metal bat at one of the corpses below and quickly took it, thankfully the handle was clean.
Soon enough, we arrived at their location and without hesitation swung the bat at the nearby zombie and its head exploded due to the sheer force behind my swing.
Blood was everywhere after that, I dodged before it could spill in my shirt or body.
"Oops, I underestimated my power." I don't have a firm grasp of my strength, and this was a great way to practice how to control it.
Then quickly recovering, I continued swinging my bad with less force this time and the result was complete detachment of the head with each strike.
Swing! Bang! Bang! Swift~!
A small explosive sound was heard every time I swung my bat, I was getting comfortable with this weapon.
Then I saw my partner who was playing with the zombies and striking them with—hm?
Is that a riding crop?
Quite ironic for her to use that as a weapon, she's a horse and she's using what is an equivalent of a whip to her.
But strangely, this riding crop seemed to be enhanced with something, after all, what sort of crop that could disintegrate a flesh with a light tap.
It didn't take long for the zombies to be annihilated in this area, to begin with there isn't a lot compared to the highway.
About a few dozen, for normal people it would be hard to overcome that many, but for us it doesn't even make us sweat.
We're simply built different, it's like a higher rank existence joining in a lower-level plane for fun.
The mother and her daughter had long noticed our presence, while the mother was half awe and half fearful at our actions.
It made sense considering how absurd our capabilities are compared to normal human beings.
Then I raised both hands in the air, so that the mother may ease her worry about our intentions, in this kind of world kindness is a luxury.
And it's the kind of luxury we have.
"It's okay, we're not here to harm you or your daughter, we're here to help." Although it didn't completely ease the mother's worry, it did calm her down.
"R-really…? T-thank you but…who are you?" The mother questioned it was quite obvious to see the concern on her face.
"Like I said, we are here to help survivors like you to a location where peace still exists." I said, although the place doesn't exist yet, with my strength alongside Agnes that kind of place is achievable.
Although the mother is skeptical about my claim, she hardly has any choice after all, she is very much aware that having a strong protector in this apocalyptic world is practically god sent.
And so begins the story of how the last sanctuary of humanity of this world was created.

Although it is never really stated from the story, it is clear that the plot is going downhill.
Sadly it's an incomplete story, since the author died.
