A female appeared from the darkness.
She was a fierce beauty with short black hair and dark eyes.
Her amazing figure was covered by a black shirt and military pants.
Her dainty feet were covered by black boots.
Her eyes were cold at first, but then they dyed red as she walked over to the body on the ground.
She walked step by step until she was right beside the body.
.....
Jae-Hyun was eating lunch when he noticed something was wrong.
"Has anyone seen Kang Ji-yeon?" he asked while looking around.
He still didn't see the proud fighter's figure anywhere.
Although she had been a bloodthirsty demon in his past life,
now he had saved her from being thrown into a horde by other comrades of the Noi family.
She had followed him once he beat her up in this life,
so he was also the person who understood her capabilities best.
No zombie should be able to hold her back.
"Sister said she wanted to train some more to beat you next time," Park Haeun said, winking.
"Then I'll show her who's really the dominant one," Jae-Hyun snorted.
The others giggled while Choi Sena rolled her eyes.
"I can see that you doubt me very much," Jae-Hyun turned to her.
"You cheater, I still think you are using some kind of drug," she said, blushing.
"I thought such a smart doctor would know the difference between natural and surgical," he said, pinching her chin.
"Then what are those weird liquids you drink?" she said while leaning in.
"Since you refuse to admit them, why don't I show you what they do?" Jae-Hyun carried the blushing woman to the room.
He wanted to avoid the question, and what better way to do it?
She glared at him,
but the redness added to the fiery eyes of a beauty made her more alluring.
The room was closed as ambiguous sounds came out.
The rest of the women didn't care about what was happening behind the closed door.
"I really want to kill him," a young girl with a pure look said.
Her face was blank and her skin pale.
She wore a white dress that was both pure and seductive, clinging to all her curves.
Her hair was brown and those brown eyes were blank.
Her name was Yoo Minji.
"It's not time yet," Park Haeun hummed.
"Do we really have to continue like this?" another girl in a hoodie and a short pleated skirt asked.
Her blonde hair was hidden behind the hood.
She chewed a piece of gum and half her face was covered by a mask.
Her skin was smooth and her legs were long.
Everything about her gave a cheerful, youthful feeling — especially the bright blue nail polish matching her eyes.
Her name was Rina.
"Are we really certain that he has that and this is the only method to deceive it?" Yoo Minji spoke again.
"It won't matter as long as Kang Ji-yeon completes the sacrifice," Park Haeun said, smiling.
"Hum—well then I can't wait to see what happens next," Rina hummed, popping a gum bubble.
…..
Kang Ji-yeon continued to draw the symbol on the ground.
Her smooth hand was now covered in blood as she finished the symbol.
The symbol was complete.
It was two circles a distance away from each other like a giant ring.
Then a pentagram was drawn in the middle of the innermost circle where Noi Karn was placed.
There were also some weird scribbles between the outer and inner circles.
Now these scribbles became particularly vibrant as they squirmed about.
Lines of red, like vines, extended from the edges of the pentagram to attach themselves to Noi Karn.
Noi Karn's body spasmed for a while as it twitched and shook.
Kang Ji-yeon stood aside the whole time, watching the process intently.
She frowned as the vines receded and the scribbles were slowly erased from existence as if someone wiped them away.
Kang Ji-yeon thought for a second before coming closer cautiously to check on him.
Just as her hand was placed on his chest,
Noi Karn's hand shot out at an extremely fast speed and headed straight for her throat.
Kang Ji-yeon was no pushover; she dodged the attack swiftly and rolled away.
"What a shame. I thought I might be done with it," said Noi Karn's voice — but this time it had a different edge.
It was darker in tone and sounded very creepy.
"Well, who might you be?" he said politely as he stood up.
The whole person had a different aura from a day ago;
there was something dark about it.
Even the simple action of dusting his clothes looked unnatural and creepy,
like seeing a notorious serial killer coming into your home holding coffee while spinning your loved one's head around.
"I do hope you can help me, pretty lady. I seem to have been lost," it said, looking at Kang Ji-yeon sincerely.
She didn't say anything but stared at him.
Then she brought out a gun and shot him a large number of times in one fluid motion.
He did not dodge,
so his body was riddled with holes and bullet wounds.
He collapsed onto the ground with an expression of shock and pain on his face.
Kang Ji-yeon stood there silently with the gun aimed at the body.
Time passed and there was silence between them.
"Hehe," he spoke, coughing up blood.
The laughter was unsettling and echoed across the room.
"So much fun, as expected," he spoke in delight as he stood up once again.
The bloody holes were gone and the only evidence of injury was the holes in his shirt and the blood on his body.
"Are you finally through pretending?" Kang Ji-yeon showed a bizarre, eccentric smile.
"Great, then let's fight with our blood flowing like a river and our hearts dancing wildly to the flesh being torn off," she said, growing more excited as she spoke.
"I happen to have a similar idea," he said, smiling with lips stretched wide.
"So why all the talking?" Kang Ji-yeon said, impatient.
She would have attacked by now, but she wasn't stupid enough to do that.
He had sent his message loud and clear:
he would not fight until he wanted to.
She couldn't kill him unless he allowed her to.
It wasn't that she needed his permission to ensure her kill does the job,
but she did need his permission to create the cause or opportunity of his death.
And if you're thinking that makes it overpowered, think again.
He had the right to refuse, but he could never bring himself to refuse.
That is just the type of person he was.
"See, I have come to realize something," he said sincerely.
"True despair comes with a lot of accumulated experience," he spoke vaguely.
"Okay, and?" Kang Ji-yeon retorted.
"And I naturally needed to accumulate such experience with you," he said, smiling softly at her.
"What does a name have to do with it?" Kang Ji-yeon stared at him in anger.
"Nothing. I just feel that knowing my name is important to my accumulation," he said indifferently.
"Kang Ji-yeon," she said, glaring.
"That is a human who was destroyed to create a nasty thing such as yourself," he spoke while squinting at her.
Kang Ji-yeon did not know what to say.
"Massacre," she blurted out.
"That's it. Now my name is Blind," he said, pointing at himself.
"Nice to meet you," Blind said, reaching out a hand to shake.
Massacre looked at him vigilantly and slowly reached out a hand.
Then her other hand threw a dagger straight at his chest.
Blind did indeed dodge this time and turned to punch her gut.
Massacre was someone who had trained in martial arts since she was a child, even before the apocalypse.
Now the apocalypse had descended and her skills were sharpened even more by both zombies and humans alike.
She could easily dodge the powerful fist that made the wind rush past.
She retaliated by reaching a hand for her gun while dodging.
Seeing this, Blind also lunged for the gun but was met with her fist that had switched from the gun to his face.
Blind's face was turned away by the impact of her punch,
but his body remained rigid and the hand that tried to grab the gun did not relent.
It grabbed the gun and Blind rolled away after taking it.
Blind stood up with the gun facing forward, about to shoot.
He sneered and pressed the trigger, but there was no loud bang.
Instead, the gun exploded and shrapnel flew to the closest thing to them — his face.
Blind closed his eyes instinctively and hurriedly dodged away from that place.
It was fruitless though, because Massacre, who had keen intuition, had already shot the real gun in the direction he would dodge.
The bullets were fired consecutively and each one hit Blind until he collapsed.
Massacre looked at the boy who seemed to be struggling to survive while choking on large amounts of blood.
Then the trembling stopped and he lay motionless with his eyes wide open.
Massacre couldn't believe it, but reality seemed to be staring right at her.
She had killed him.
She was finally going to be the chosen one and destroy all those who had done wrong against her, starting with that perverted scumbag Jae-Hyun.
"Hehe," Blind — who looked dead in all ways — suddenly let out a creepy laugh. He laughed in pure joy.
Massacre felt her heart skip a beat and she turned back, only to find nothing behind her.
She looked around but found pure darkness with nothing in sight.
She shook her head, thinking she was paranoid.
Turning back to the steps leading up, she only saw the same pure darkness.
"Kang Ji-yeon," Blind spoke.
"She was someone who was trained by the Noi family the first day she was adopted," he continued.
"There she suffered bullying and isolation just because she was the prettiest around.
Reporting to the adults only stretched the molestation to them.
She tried to fight back but was beaten to near death and bullied even more after that.
Then she eventually worked hard to top her class only to become a dog for those arrogant nobles.
She was insulted and treated like a dog all her life with no one to care about her or help her."
"Is that you?" Massacre said, shaking.
"What did you do to me?" she asked, still seeing only darkness.
"Remember who I am," Blind said, walking over to her.
Massacre flinched and took a step away but was tripped by a stone beside her feet.
She sat on the ground trembling.
"Did you really think that you could ever have a chance of being me?" Blind said, stroking her hair.
"You are just another tiny drop of me that could still maintain rationality."
Blind patted her cheek lightly.
"You wanted to destroy those who destroyed you, and so I made you think that you could," he smiled as the girl trembled more.
"Your hate was food and a means to control you, to wake 'me' up."
"Now everyone you hate is dead and you have served your purpose," Blind smiled even more.
"Now you are going to die while thinking about how you almost did it."
Massacre trembled and started to scream.
She tried to crawl on all fours but kept hitting rubble; her skin was scratched by sharp pieces.
Blind looked at the struggling woman and walked over leisurely.
For Massacre, each step made her heart skip.
The breath of death came closer and closer until she was enveloped by it.
"It's time to rest now," Blind said softly.
Contrary to his voice, his hand didn't hesitate to grasp her heart in her chest.
Then he slowly dragged it out as Massacre screamed in pain, fear, and despair.
"So, do you finally feel what true despair is?" Blind said while laughing wildly.
She kept screaming until she collapsed and gave up the ghost.
Blind smiled widely and tossed her heart away.
"Now all I have left to do is kill those four kids," Blind said, walking to the steps.
His figure, covered in blood, paused as soon as he stepped into the open air.
His face contorted and he groaned.
After a minute, the tearing sensation was released.
Blind turned back immediately to look at the bottom of the steps that led into the basement.
There stood an identical copy of him, but that copy was dressed in a school uniform.
Noi Karn raised his head blankly to look at his face and his body.
"Noi Karn."
"Blind."
Both spoke at the same time.
Blind gritted his teeth as he spoke.
Noi Karn replied in a cold tone.
