Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 Bad News

The morning sun peeked through the curtains, and little birds chirped on the telephone pole. It was time for school again.

The nobi family was leisurely enjoying a delicious breakfast at the dining table, secretly hiding some little-known secrets.

"Mm-hmm~"

Yuzi, sitting across from Nobi Hiroshi, suddenly let out a soft moan. The miso soup in her hand swayed, almost spilling onto the table.

Her head bowed, her waist bent, her skirt gathered inward.

A corner of her basic equipment was pulled open, yet no one noticed that the mysterious gate to the ancient sacred forest ruins had been opened.

Only one cultivator, whose power reached the heavens, single-handedly ventured into this perilous lair.

"Yuzi, what's wrong with you? You've been acting strange these past few days?"

Nobi Daisuke, who was drinking coffee, curiously glanced at his wife sitting next to him.

Her face was unusually flushed, her eyes were alluring, and her legs were unconsciously trembling slightly.

Is she sick? But she doesn't look like she's sick!

"No... Hmph... Nothing... Maybe I didn't sleep well last night."

Nobi Tamako pressed one hand on the table, speaking with difficulty and a trembling voice.

She cast an endearing glance at Nobi Hiroshi, who seemed unaffected, her eyes filled with tenderness.

"Aunt Tamako, could you please give me another bowl of miso soup?"

Hiroshi calmly picked up a small bowl, not forgetting to practice his superpower even during breakfast.

His telekinesis transformed into a large hand composed of countless small hands, checking Nobi Tamako's health to ensure everything was normal.

"Oh, okay~"

Yuzi took the small bowl and stumbled to the stove, shakily picking up the ladle and with much effort, scooped a bowl of miso soup.

She exhaled a nervous breath; being watched by her husband and Nobita at that moment made her feel as if she was in a fog.

Under the dual stimulation of spirit and body, there was a different kind of joy.

"Alright, I'm going to school."

After eating and drinking his fill, Nobi Hiroshi slung his school bag over his shoulder and walked towards school, retracting his mental power.

It was indeed quite good; he could touch real objects without lifting a finger, completely undetected.

Moreover, the spiritual perception was much richer.

"Then I'm going to school too!"

"Mm, be careful on your way."

Nobita hurriedly followed Hiroshi's footsteps. Nobi Tamako, finally relieved, looked at Nobita with satisfaction. This child finally wouldn't be late every day, all thanks to Hiroshi.

"Eh, where did these cookies come from?"

Nobi Daisuke, changing into his suit jacket, suddenly noticed a pink packaging box on the washbasin and curiously picked it up to examine.

"Nobita's classmate gave them to him. That child just likes to leave things lying around. I really don't know what to say about him."

Yuzi walked over, holding her cheek.

"I was just craving something sweet. This is perfect. Tell Nobita that I'll bring him some cookies after I get off work."

Daisuke casually took the cookies containing the Fool's Bomb and left for work with a smile.

"The weather is nice today; I feel like something good is going to happen to me."

Looking at the clear blue sky, Nobi Daisuke embarked on a path of no return.

...

...

"Eh, I actually forgot to bring Shizuka's cookies this morning. I originally wanted to show them off in front of Gian and Xiao Fu."

"...Worthless."

"Hiroshi, what are you secretly saying?"

"Nothing, just guessing what today's snack will be."

Time quickly came to the afternoon. A familiar sound echoed at the entrance, Nobi Hiroshi and Nobita were back from school.

Because school in Japan ends early, students usually get home around three o'clock, which is snack time.

Taking off their shoes and opening the door, they saw Doraemon sitting restlessly, and three Dorayaki on a plate in front of him.

"You two are finally back!"

Doraemon looked at Hiroshi and Nobita with joy, impatiently picking up a Dorayaki to eat. The three of them went to the living room and leisurely watched Lion Mask.

"Ring-a-ling~ Ring-a-ling~"

Suddenly, the phone at the entrance rang. Nobi Tamako put down her needlework, stood up, and walked towards the phone.

"Thud~"

Nobi Hiroshi heard the sound of the receiver dropping in the hallway.

He poked his head out to look, only to see Yuzi, who had answered the phone, standing motionless beside the phone.

From the receiver, he could still hear, "Madam, Madam, please compose yourself!"

"Aunt Yuzi, what happened?"

Hiroshi rushed to Yuzi's side, holding her shoulders with both hands, and asked softly.

"How... how could this be..."

"Hiroshi, your uncle... your uncle suddenly went insane at work and jumped directly from the rooftop."

Nobi Tamako looked at Hiroshi distractedly, her eyes somewhat blank.

The sudden news was like a bolt from the blue; she couldn't accept it for a moment, covering her mouth with one hand and trembling with sobs.

Crystal tears streamed down her cheeks. She still cared deeply for her husband, after all, that affection was still there.

Although over the years, due to Daisuke's heavy drinking, his kidneys had long been ruined, and there was only daily verbal communication.

But they were husband and wife after all. Nobi Tamako changed into simple clothes, called Nobita and Doraemon, and rushed to the hospital.

At the entrance of the emergency room, Nobi Daisuke was already covered with a white sheet. The mother and son cried as they looked at the middle-aged man lying flat on the bed.

Doraemon stood by, wiping away two tears. Nobi Hiroshi's mood was equally complex.

He was still somewhat grateful to this good-natured man for adopting him.

Unfortunately, misfortune can strike at any time, and Mr. Daisuke regrettably left our family forever.

"Uncle, please rest in peace."

"After your death, I will take care of your wife; you need not worry."

Clenching his fists, Nobi Hiroshi silently made a vow in his heart.

As a true man, a true man, he knew what he should do. He must actively take responsibility and wholeheartedly care for the people around him.

...

...

The next day, a memorial hall for Daisuke was set up at the Nobi residence. The black and white photograph seemed to capture his living presence, surrounded by chrysanthemums and carnations.

The deceased is revered, and many relatives and friends came to express their condolences. Gian, Xiao Fu, Shizuka, and even the class teacher came.

They comforted Nobita, urging him to bear his sorrow.

A group of monks was invited to chant scriptures. After the ceremony, Mr. Daisuke's ashes could finally be laid to rest.

"Rest assured, Uncle, I will take good care of Aunt Yuzi. I hope you can rest in peace in the netherworld."

Looking at the erected tombstone, Nobi Hiroshi bowed deeply.

Nobi Tamako, kneeling before the tombstone, wept bitterly: "Daisuke, rest assured, I will take good care of Nobita until he grows up. Even if you're not here, I will support this family."

"Dad! Dad! Wuwuwu~"

Nobita, behind Nobi Hiroshi, kept kowtowing and crying bitterly.
