Chapter 37 - Chapter 37 The Strange Birdman

Frowning, the defeated Nobita pushed all the responsibility onto Doraemon again.

The props were too bad; they didn't allow him to fully display his protagonist's characteristics.

"Didn't I warn Nobita already? You wanted real people to participate, so their personalities would naturally change, and the plot would, of course, have twists."

Doraemon heard Nobita's questioning and glared at him irritably.

Whenever something went wrong with him, he liked to find excuses to blame others. Such a personality was truly annoying.

"Tch, it all comes down to this plot cartridge being too bad. Why does that Nobi Hiroshi kid, as a villain, have such powerful strength?"

Nobita, enraged and humiliated, made a scene and then went downstairs for breakfast, parting on bad terms.

Seeing Hiroshi's figure, there was endless resentment in his eyes. Even if it was a dream, that feeling was truly real.

Shizuka was kissed right in front of him. Recalling it still made his chest burn with anger.

"Hiroshi, you know what? I had a really strange dream last night."

On the way to school, Tian Mei waited quietly at the street corner.

Only when the figure she had longed for appeared in her sight did she greet him with a smile.

"So, Shizuka, what kind of dream did you have last night?" Nobi Hiroshi smiled cooperatively, knowing without guessing that it was last night's Atlantis.

It seemed the girl still remembered a bit of what happened in the dream, subconsciously.

"Hmm… I dreamed I was a princess of a kingdom, kidnapped by an evil shepherd, and finally, it was Hiroshi who came to save me."

A small finger propped up her chin, the loli pondered for a moment, then spoke cheerfully.

Only the profound parts were recorded; the other memories were neatly forgotten.

"That's a good dream." Nobi Hiroshi lovingly rubbed the little girl's head.

And Nobita behind him, listening, his face turned dark. What did she mean, "evil shepherd"?

He was clearly the male protagonist, Hiroshi was the big villain, Shizuka, did you make a mistake?

He was very angry, but thinking of the scene in the dream where he was so scared he wet his pants in front of Shizuka, he couldn't help but sigh softly.

Luckily, he didn't remember that scene.

However, you two just wait. Tonight, I will bring out an even more powerful cartridge and reclaim the dignity of the male lead.

Nobita looked at the distant mountains, and in his reflective glasses was boundless ambition.

And then…

Just as he was walking alone on the way home from school, a strange voice suddenly stopped him.

"Young man in front, wait a moment."

Turning around in confusion, Nobita immediately saw a man with a hooked, eagle-like nose, an ugly face, resembling a birdman.

"Uncle, are you calling me?"

"That's right, young man. You look troubled. Do you want to get rid of these troubles and make life more interesting?"

The birdman's demonic voice was full of temptation, and when he spoke these words, a very strange aura emanated, with a hint of conspiracy.

"Make life more interesting?"

Nobita's expression was very surprised. In fact, his current life was already interesting enough, but he was clearly not the kind of person who was content with the status quo.

"That's right, and there's an even more fun place than this world. In the world of the Dream Three Swordsmen, all worries will disappear, and you can have whatever you want."

Continuing to entice, Nobita was very tempted by the words. Just as he was about to ask him something, the birdman suddenly disappeared.

As if he had never appeared.

"Huh, where did he go? What a strange uncle."

Gazing at the empty street, Nobita continued to walk slowly towards his home.

At the same time.

A flyer drifted into the room, seemingly promoting a newly released dream cartridge called "Dream Three Swordsmen."

Closing its beak, the crow outside the window gave a chilling smile, and after completing everything, flew away from the Nobi household.

"What is this? Dream Three Swordsmen? A dream cartridge comparable to the real world? The current release price is only…"

"It's too expensive, isn't it? It must be another trick from Future Department Store. I just bought the Dream Maker; I have to save some money."

Picking up the flyer from the floor, Doraemon shook his head and muttered to himself.

Just as he was about to throw it into the trash can, the room door suddenly opened.

"Doraemon, what are you looking at?"

Nobita, who had returned home, saw Doraemon staring blankly at the flyer and asked curiously.

"Nobita, you're back. This is a flyer from Future Department Store, promoting a cartridge called Dream Three Swordsmen."

Doraemon frowned, shaking the flyer in his hand as he explained to Nobita.

"Dream Three Swordsmen?"

He remembered now; it seemed to be the world the strange uncle on the road mentioned.

Nobita thought for a moment, a smile on his lips, then pounced on Doraemon, whining.

"Doraemon, this should be more fun than those bundled cartridges, right? Let's just buy one to play, okay?"

"But this cartridge called Dream Three Swordsmen is very expensive, you should just give up."

Doraemon refused without thinking. There were so many free cartridges he hadn't even touched yet, and he wanted to buy a new one. It was too wasteful.

And even if they were to buy it, the twelve-month installment plan was simply too painful.

"Then what are you two doing?"

As soon as he returned home, Nobi Hiroshi saw the two pulling and tugging at each other at the room door.

He walked over curiously and saw the flyer in Doraemon's hand. Nobita seemed very eager to buy this item.

"Dream Three Swordsmen, this cartridge seems very interesting."

"It is interesting, but it's too expensive."

"It's okay, I'll just use my pocket money to buy it. This much money is nothing."

Hiroshi generously took on the cost.

"Really, Hiroshi? You're truly my good friend!"

Nobita, whose mood changed faster than flipping a book, immediately ran in front of Nobi Hiroshi and fawned over him.

However, Hiroshi was used to his personality and merely gave a stiff smile.

After dinner, the three sat quietly in the room, waiting for the package. Outside, it had started raining heavily at some point.

On their rooftop, the strange birdman from earlier in the day was making a phone call, urging the department store to ship quickly, not even afraid of being struck by lightning.

"It's here, it's here! Doraemon, let's quickly open this package and see! I can't wait anymore!"

Finally, a package dropped from the space above their heads onto the tatami mat.

Nobita's face lit up with excitement upon seeing the sudden appearance of the package, eager to play with the Dream Three Swordsmen cartridge.

"I know, Nobita, can't you just not be so excited? You really have to thank Hiroshi properly."

Doraemon opened the express box. The packaging inside was very simple, containing only a cartridge and an instruction manual.

However, it's worth mentioning the warning on the instruction manual: "Dream Cartridges possess powerful magic that can alter reality. Use with caution."

Nobi Hiroshi looked at the red note, deep in thought, feeling a dangerous aura.

"Alright, I'll tell you two about the plot of this cartridge."

Doraemon translated from the instruction manual.

The world of the Dream Three Swordsmen is a story about three swordsmen working together to defeat Demon Spirit Great Emperor Odom, save the Kingdom of Armilman, and then the Silver Swordsman, who contributed the most, marries the kingdom's princess.

Still such a clichéd plot.

However, upon hearing the plot of the protagonist Silver Swordsman marrying the kingdom's princess, Nobita was excited and rushed to be the Silver Swordsman.

But the money for this cartridge was provided by Hiroshi, and he also wanted to try out other characters, so the two started arguing.

"Forget it, you two, don't argue. I think it's better to rely on your own luck. I'll randomly select the roles."

Not wanting to offend either side, Doraemon put the cartridge into the Dream Maker and pressed the start switch.

Following the adjustment, Nobi Hiroshi and Nobita went to sleep in their own futons.
