Chapter 35 - 35

Although everyone in the stronghold had been taken care of by him, Russell knew that this would only slightly delay the time it took for the Ten Rings to find out.

When they couldn't contact the stronghold, they would definitely become suspicious.

Although it was unlikely they would know he was the one who did it and would instead blame the US military, for safety's sake, they might very well take Tony and leave overnight.

Russell didn't plan to stay in Afghanistan for too long.

If he could resolve the matter today, he wouldn't put it off until tomorrow.

Not to mention, soft and fragrant Diana was waiting for him to come home in New York.

The distance between the two strongholds wasn't very far.

If he were speeding along in an off-road vehicle like before, Russell was confident he could reach his destination within an hour.

But now, this pickup truck, looking like it had seen battle in Iraq, severely limited his performance.

He had originally been somewhat dissatisfied with the off-road vehicle provided by the Continental Hotel in Afghanistan.

However, now he felt he had misjudged the Continental Hotel staff.

In Afghanistan, the off-road vehicle he had just driven was considered a luxury car here.

If the off-road vehicle he had been complaining about earlier was a 60, then this pickup truck couldn't even reach a 40.

To improve the driving experience, he had to manifest some of the symbiote from his body and use it to modify the seats.

The driving experience could be enhanced through the symbiote's shape-shifting abilities.

But there was nothing he could do about the vehicle's performance.

This extremely poor driving experience made him look forward to the "Internal Symbiote Armor" reward even more.

If he had the "Internal Symbiote Armor" now, he wouldn't have to endure this driving experience so bad it made him want to curse.

Although he had "taken care" of the pickup truck as much as possible and hadn't pushed it to its limits.

But after speeding for forty to fifty minutes, the pickup truck reached the end of its life.

With a loud bang, the pickup truck's engine blew.

Fuck!

Only a little over ten kilometers left!

After cursing, Russell opened the car door and got out.

After glancing at the map and GPS device, he discarded most of his equipment and set off lightly.

Two handguns, a dagger, four magazines, a satellite phone, and a GPS device!

Besides these items, he threw everything else away.

With the pickup truck's engine blown, he didn't need to consider following the mountain road to the stronghold where Tony was being held.

Venom Form!

After only a few steps, he activated his Venom Form, transforming into the appearance of Venom, nearly three meters tall with a mouth full of sharp teeth.

The shortest distance between two points is a straight line!

After activating Venom Form, he charged straight towards the stronghold where Tony was being held.

In the workshop converted from a cave, Tony and Yinsen were continuously dismantling missiles.

Outside the cave, Razar, the leader, was patrolling the valley.

One of the strongholds outside had completely lost contact.

In the past hour, Razar's subordinates had confirmed this.

Although he had already sent subordinates to the stronghold that had lost contact, his unease not only didn't decrease but became even more pronounced.

Had the news leaked?

This thought involuntarily flashed through Razar's mind.

But soon, he dismissed this guess.

Besides him and his subordinates, only Obadiah knew that Tony was in his hands.

He had great confidence in his subordinates.

It was also impossible for Obadiah to leak this matter.

As for the US military, he didn't think their intelligence personnel had such great capabilities.

Having dealt with them for so many years, he was very clear about the strength of the US military in Afghanistan.

If the US military's intelligence personnel could even uncover things like this, then the US military would have long since eliminated the terrorists hiding in the mountains.

The reason why the US military, with equipment and combat readiness far superior to the terrorists, hadn't been able to wipe them out yet was largely due to the mountainous terrain of Afghanistan.

The inability to conduct large-scale military movements prevented the US military from fully utilizing its firepower advantage.

Small-scale units, on the other hand, couldn't effectively strike the terrorists hiding in the mountains.

These terrorists could just find any cave to hide in and disappear as if into thin air.

Razar was pondering which part of the plan had gone wrong.

Meanwhile, from the summit of one of the valley's mountains, Russell in his Venom Form was looking down at the situation in the valley.

Although the distance was a bit far, he could clearly see the Stark Industries weapons placed in the military camouflage tents.

He could even see the words "Stark Industries Made" on the boxes.

Opened and unopened.

Shoulder-fired rocket launchers, small missiles of various types.

Although the Ten Rings members in the valley were dressed somewhat sloppily, it had to be said that the heavy firepower they had acquired was quite high-end.

There were probably thirty to forty Ten Rings members visible now.

If you included those who hadn't come out of the cave, the total number might reach seventy to eighty.

A heavy machine gun was set up at the entrance of the valley.

The Ten Rings members were gathered in groups of two or three throughout the valley.

Some were sitting together chatting, while others were patrolling and looking around.

Not many people, not a big problem!

After observing the environment in the valley, Russell controlled his black tentacles to take out the only two handguns he had on him.

Let's begin!

Hunting time!

Without any hesitation, Russell exerted force with his legs, leaping down from the mountaintop like a black meteor falling towards the valley.

Before he even landed, the large shadow on the ground attracted the attention of the Ten Rings members.

Just as they looked up at the sky, Russell, still in freefall, controlled his black tentacles and pulled the triggers.

Gun-slinging technique!

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang...

Bullets flew out like lightning, heading towards the Ten Rings members in the valley.

Some of these bullets followed a normal trajectory, flying straight towards their targets.

More of them drew unreasonable arcs in the air, flying towards the Ten Rings members hiding behind cover.

Boom!

Almost simultaneously with the bullets flying out, the demon-like Russell landed in the middle of the valley, performing a superhero-style landing on one knee.

With the enhancement of the Venom symbiote, his knee didn't hurt at all.

In fact, even without the symbiote's enhancement, his knee wouldn't hurt.

This height wasn't enough to be unbearable for him.

As he landed, the black tentacles didn't stop pulling the triggers, and gunshots rang out continuously.

While controlling the black tentacles to fire, he also manifested new black tentacles from his body, sending them flying towards the shoulder-fired rocket launchers and other weapons in the camouflage tents.

The Ten Rings members never expected that on an ordinary afternoon, a black monster would descend from the sky.

What they didn't expect even more was that this black monster's appearance was accompanied by a fierce attack.

Before they could even raise their weapons to retaliate, more than a dozen of their comrades had died under Russell's gunfire.
