"He's back," she said quietly, meeting Elena's stunned eyes.
"Dominic is back."
Elena's brows furrowed, confusion flickering across her face before disbelief took over.
"Don't " she started, her voice shaking. "Don't say that name, Valerie. Don't play with me like that."
Valerie swallowed hard, her throat tight. "He didn't die back there, Elena. He survived."
Elena's breath caught. Her mind flashed to the explosion, the chaos, the fire the lifeless reports. The endless nights she cried herself to sleep ,the time she didn't want to live ,the weeks she was basically a mad woman , praying it was a lie.
Valerie's eyes glistened as she continued, "He was in a coma for two years. Nobody knew. By the time he woke up, he was tangled in something big something dark. But he's back now… fit. Alive."
Elena's hand went to her chest, her knees threatening to give way. "You're lying," she whispered, shaking her head. "No one could've survived that. No one."
