Chapter 22 - chapter twenty-two:the mango school of madness

"Love, Lights, and Total Classroom Chaos"

The school bell rang — a rusty, metallic clang! that sounded more like a goat sneezing.

Mr. Umar (you) stood proudly at the front of the class, chalk in hand."Class!" you said, smiling like a man who still believed in peace. "Today, we'll do something special — a drama rehearsal!"

Rick raised his hand instantly."Sir, am I the lead hero? I've already practiced my crying scene!"Nancy sighed. "You don't need practice. You cry every time someone eats your mangoes."

Yuna giggled quietly beside James.Rick pointed at them dramatically. "Aha! True love in my classroom! Perfect for my play!"

Mr. Umar pinched the bridge of his nose. "Rick, this is my class, not your movie set."Rick puffed his chest. "Every class is a stage when I'm in it."

Mr. Umar wrote on the board:The Mango of Love — A School Play

"Now," you said, "we'll need a hero, a heroine, and a villain."

Rick jumped up. "I shall be all three!"Nancy shouted, "Over my fabulous body! I'm the heroine!"Yuna smiled shyly. "I can help with the lines…"Rick pointed at her. "Perfect! You'll play the second heroine — the tragic one who loves the hero but also loves mangoes more!"

You sighed. "Rick, we don't even have a script yet."

But it didn't matter. The class had already turned into an audition battlefield.

James was the only calm one."I don't mind being the hero," he said softly, looking at Yuna.Rick gasped. "Impossible! My jawline is more heroic!"

Nancy smirked. "Your jawline can't even spell 'heroic.

You finally got them on stage — Rick as the "King of Mango Land," Yuna as "Princess Sweetfruit," James as her brave protector, and Nancy as "Lady Lipshine."

Rick: "Princess! You must choose between the crown… and love!"Yuna (nervous): "I… I choose…"Nancy (interrupting): "A better lipstick!"

Rick stomped. "You ruined my scene!"Nancy flipped her hair. "Darling, I improved it."

James tried to stay serious. "Can we just follow the script?"Rick tossed the paper dramatically. "The script is in my heart!"

At that exact moment, Rama entered with snacks. "Did someone say cut? Because I brought mango cupcakes."

The students cheered. Rehearsal immediately turned into lunch break.

You rubbed your forehead. "I should've been a math teacher."

After cupcakes, it was time for the final scene — the love confession between Yuna and James.

You announced, "Everyone quiet! This is the emotional climax."

Rick whispered, "Climax means tears. I'm ready."Nancy smacked his arm. "You're not in this scene!"

Yuna stepped forward, eyes soft, voice trembling:"James… I mean, Hero… even if the world forgets us, my heart will remember…"

James smiled gently. "And I will always protect you — even from mango thieves."

The class went awwwww.Then Rick leaped between them, yelling, "CUT! No kiss scene without my direction!"

Nancy shouted, "This isn't Bollywood!"Rick shouted back, "It is now!"

You shouted louder, "It's detention if anyone speaks again!"

The class froze. Silence. Then… someone's phone rang. It was playing "Mango Tango Remix."

Everyone burst out laugh The rehearsal ended in total madness — props everywhere, cupcakes on the floor, one goat eating the script.

You stood by the blackboard, sighing but smiling."Well," you said, "it wasn't Shakespeare… but it was unforgettable."

Rick raised his hand. "Sir, can we perform it for the investors next week?"Nancy gasped. "A performance tour?"Yuna smiled. "That might actually be fun."James nodded. "Only if Rick doesn't direct."Rick grinned. "Too late. I already printed the posters!"

You dropped your chalk. "This is going to be the longest week of my life."

And outside, as the sun set over Mango Village, the laughter carried through the trees — warm, loud, and full of heart
