Chapter 50 - relief

As the minutes ticked by, Taejoon's anxiety grew. He couldn't sit still, his legs pacing back and forth as he tried to burn off some of the nervous energy coursing through his body.

When the doors finally swung open, Taejoon's heart skipped a beat. He rushed towards the doctor, his eyes scanning their face for any sign of hope. "How is he?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

The doctor's expression was somber, and Taejoon's heart sank. But then, the doctor spoke, "He's going to be okay. The knife missed any vital organs, but he lost a lot of blood. He's stable for now, but we'll need to monitor him closely."

Taejoon felt a wave of relief wash over him, followed by a deep gratitude. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath as he let the tension seep out of his body.

Taejoon walked into the hospital room, the soft beeping of the machines and the sterile smell of the hospital hitting him like a wave. His eyes landed on Han, who was lying in the bed, his face pale but peaceful.

Taejoon's heart swelled with emotion as he gazed at Han. He felt a mix of relief and gratitude wash over him, and he couldn't help but think about how fragile life was. One moment, Han was fine; the next, he was fighting for his life.

He walked quietly over to the bedside, not wanting to disturb Han if he was sleeping. But as he reached out to touch Han's hand, Han's eyes fluttered open.

"Taejoon," Han whispered, a weak smile on his face.

Taejoon's eyes welled up with tears as he smiled back at Han. "Hey," he said softly, his voice trembling slightly. He sat down in the chair beside Han's bed, taking Han's hand in his.

Han's eyes drooped, and he drifted off to sleep again, Taejoon holding his hand and sitting quietly beside him. As Han slept, Taejoon gently wrapped his arm around Han's, holding him close.
