Chapter 49 - scared to lose you

Minutes later, as they were walking down the street, some unsavory-looking men noticed Taejoon and Han. They seemed to be sizing them up, their eyes lingering on them with a mixture of curiosity and malice.

The men, clearly up to no good, began to walk towards Taejoon and Han, their movements deliberate and menacing. Taejoon sensed the potential threat and immediately went on high alert. Without hesitation, he pulled Han behind him, positioning himself between Han and the approaching men.

The men stopped in front of them, their faces twisted into sneers. "Well, well, well, what do we got here?" one of them sneered, his eyes raking over Taejoon and Han.

Taejoon's stance was protective, his eyes never leaving the men as he wrapped a arm around Han, holding him firmly behind him. "Can we help you?" he asked, his voice firm and even.

The men snickered, clearly amused by Taejoon's bravery. "Oh, I think we can help you," one of them said, taking a step closer.

Taejoon's grip on Han tightened, his muscles tensed and ready to spring into action. Han, sensing the tension, stayed quiet, his eyes fixed on Taejoon's back, trusting him to handle the situation.

One of the men took a step closer, a sly grin spreading across his face. "Do you think no one will recognize both of you because of the Caps and face masks you're wearing that you're Taejoon, the leader of Alpha Boys?" he sneered, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "And the one behind you, that's Han, the leader of Idols. You're a pretty big deal, aren't you?"

The other man nodded enthusiastically, his eyes lighting up with greed. "We'll be rich if we have one of you as our hostage," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "The ransom alone would be worth millions."

Taejoon's eyes narrowed, his grip on Han's arm tightening. He subtly shifted his weight, preparing for a fight. "You're not going to take us anywhere," he said, his voice cold and menacing.

The men laughed, clearly amused by Taejoon's bravado. "Oh, we think we can," one of them sneered, taking a step closer. "You're not in your precious territory now, Alpha Boy. You're just a couple of celebrities who think they're above the law."

Taejoon's eyes flashed with anger, and he took a step forward, his fists clenched. Han, sensing the tension, he hold Taejoon's arm, holding him back. "Taejoon, don't," he whispered, his voice calm and soothing.

The men charged at Taejoon and Han, their fists flying. Taejoon sprang into action, his fists moving swiftly as he took down the men one by one. He was a skilled fighter, and he made sure to keep Han protected, not allowing the men to get close to him.

But just as it seemed like Taejoon had the upper hand, one of the men pulled out a knife, its blade glinting in the light. Taejoon didn't see it, too focused on taking down the other men. The man with the knife crept up behind Taejoon, his eyes fixed on his target.

Without hesitation, Han saw the danger and stepped forward, pushing Taejoon out of the way. The man plunged the knife into Han's stomach, and Han's eyes widened in shock as he felt a searing pain. He stumbled backward, his hand grasping for the wound, as Taejoon's eyes snapped towards him in horror.

"Han!" Taejoon screamed, his voice echoing through the street. The men were momentarily stunned, but Taejoon's rage quickly took over. He launched himself at the men, his fists flying with a ferocity that sent them flying. The sound of flesh hitting flesh filled the air as Taejoon fought with a desperation he had never felt before.

The men didn't stand a chance against Taejoon's fury. He beat them down, his movements swift and deadly. When he finally stopped, the men lay scattered around him, whimpering in pain. Taejoon's chest heaved with exertion, his eyes wild with fear as he rushed to Han's side.

"Han, no, no, no," Taejoon whispered, his voice trembling as he applied pressure to Han's wound. "Why did you do that?" he asked, his eyes welling up with tears. Han's face was pale, and his eyes were starting to glaze over. Taejoon's heart was racing with fear, and he knew he had to get Han to a hospital, fast.

Taejoon's face was etched with worry as he gently picked up Han's limp form and cradled him in his arms. He rushed through the streets, his long strides eating up the distance as he sprinted towards the nearest hospital.

As he ran, Taejoon's mind was a jumble of emotions - fear, anxiety, and guilt. He couldn't believe Han had taken the knife for him. He couldn't bear the thought of losing him.

Finally, he burst through the hospital doors, Han still in his arms. "Doctor! Doctor, please help him!" he shouted, his voice hoarse with desperation.

The hospital staff rushed to his side, quickly assessing the situation. They whisked Han away to the emergency room, leaving Taejoon standing alone, his eyes fixed on the doors as if willing Han to come back out.

Only when Han had disappeared from view did Taejoon remember that he needed to call for backup. His hands shaking, he dialed Mr. Kim's number, his manager's voice answering on the first ring.

"Mr. Kim, it's Han. He's been stabbed. I'm at the hospital," Taejoon's voice cracked as he spoke, his emotions threatening to overwhelm him.

Mr. Kim's tone turned urgent. "Which hospital? I'll be there. Don't worry, Taejoon. Han will be okay."

Taejoon took a deep breath and rattled off the hospital's name before hanging up.

Taejoon's face was etched with worry, his brow furrowed in concern as he paced back and forth in front of the emergency room doors. His eyes were fixed on the doors, willing them to open and for a doctor to emerge with good news.

His hands were clenched into fists, his knuckles white with tension. He couldn't shake the image of Han's pale face and the blood staining his shirt. The thought of losing him was unbearable.

Taejoon's mind was racing with what-ifs and maybes. What if Han didn't make it? What if the injury was worse than he thought? Maybe he should have been more careful. Maybe he should have protected Han better.
