If I said I understood what he meant by that, then I'd be lying.
If I claimed to know why he suddenly woke up because of her wolf or why he had been silent all this while, that too would be a lie.
A snake coiled around my leg and I quickly drove the head of an arrow into it before stepping away. The warriors standing guard outside stared at me, their faces a mix of surprise and bewilderment. I could see the confusion written plainly in their eyes.
Everyone else had already gone, sprinted away in their wolf forms, while I was still here… walking. Slowly. Too slowly, especially when there were only seven flags to be found, with the sunset as the timer.
Seven flags with a wolf's head beneath a white crescent moon, stitched onto black fabric. And time was slipping away, the sun already beginning its descent.
I started moving toward the direction no one had taken. Most had gone through the middle, leaving the far ends untouched or so I thought.
