"DXD: Infinite Loot System"Chapter 263: Nine-Tails vs. Nine-Tails

With a single gesture, Georg conjured a storm of magic circles—hundreds, maybe thousands—each one spinning with cryptic runes and shifting colors. The air crackled as spells from every tradition flashed into existence: Nordic, demonic, fallen angel, black magic, white magic, elven enchantments... The sheer variety made even Rossweisse pause in awe.

"Those are some serious spell formulas…" she murmured, eyes darting across the dazzling array. Katerea and Asia's group stared, wide-eyed. Tenra, for all his strength, was hopeless with magic; all he could do was squint through the glare, feeling his brain go fuzzy.

Under Georg's control, the circles interlocked, merging into a single, impossibly intricate super-array. Centered on Princess Yasaka, the formation blazed across the ground, its lines pulsing with power.

The earth itself shuddered. From every corner of Kyoto, water and spiritual energy surged like a tidal wave, drawn irresistibly into the array.

"AAAHHHH!"

Yasaka screamed as the energy slammed into her, her body swelling with unnatural light. Before everyone's eyes, she transformed—her human form melting away, replaced by a colossal golden fox.

Slender shoulders, regal bearing, nine shimmering tails swirling in the air—Yasaka's true youkai form, revealed at last.

Nine-Tailed Fox.

But there was no time to marvel. The golden fox let out another agonized cry, then, eyes wild, raised a massive paw and slammed it toward Tenra's group.

"Scatter!"

Tenra snatched Asia and Kunou and vaulted skyward. Rossweisse, Renare, and the others broke away just as the ground exploded beneath the fox's blow.

"Mother!"

Kunou sobbed, clinging to Tenra. Her mother's eyes were blank—lost to the magic's control.

Georg's voice cut through the chaos. "The summoning array and tribute are in place. Now we see if the god takes the bait."

"Cao Cao, I'll need quiet to operate this array. Keep them off me."

Cao Cao waved him off. "Don't worry. No one's getting through."

A new message arrived. "Perimeter teams are already fighting Maou Leviathan and the Fallen Angel Governor-General. Time to get started."

"Let's go!"

The Hero Faction surged forward, battle cries echoing, weapons drawn. The air thickened with the promise of violence.

Tenra barked orders, his mind razor-sharp:

"Cao Cao's mine."

"Renare, Rossweisse—take Siegfried."

"Semilia, promote all Pawns to Queens. You fifteen handle Jeanne and Heracles."

"Katerea, I'll conjure two hundred beasts. Lead your mages and these monsters against the rest!"

As he spoke, Tenra tapped into his newly claimed Longinus—Annihilation Maker. Shadows spilled across the ground, and from the darkness, two hundred monstrous beasts erupted, each roaring with power. Every one matched a mid- or even high-class devil in strength.

"Yes!"

Rossweisse and Renare launched themselves at Siegfried. Semilia exchanged a glance with her sisters, then the battle nuns moved to intercept Jeanne and Heracles. Katerea quickly rallied her witches and the summoned beasts, forming a living wall against the Hero Faction's assault.

The castle erupted in chaos—shouts, explosions, the clash of steel and magic.

"Kunou, Asia, stay in the barrier and support everyone!"

Tenra layered protective wards around the two girls.

Asia's Sacred Gear had advanced enough to heal allies from a distance. As backup, Tenra had placed conditional spells on everyone—if anyone took a critical hit, they'd teleport straight to Asia's side for emergency healing.

"I'll do my best, Tenra-san!"

"Please save my mother, Tenra-sama. I'm begging you!"

Asia nodded, determined. Kunou's tears sparkled as she pleaded.

Tenra knelt, brushing Kunou's forehead. "I promised I'd save her. I keep my promises."

He didn't waste another word. Red and white armor blazed to life, wings unfurling as he shot into the sky.

Below, his team was locked in battle. Kyoto's spiritual energy kept flooding into Yasaka, driving her further into madness. The golden fox's cries echoed, destructive and wild.

He needed to stop Yasaka—but he was out of hands.

Time to improvise.

Annihilation Maker could create any beast—real or imagined. The only limits: Tenra's own imagination and power.

He grinned, an idea sparking.

"Come forth—Kurama!"

At his command, a massive beast coalesced in midair, then crashed down with bone-shaking force.

Fox ears, nine crimson tails whipping through the air—a second nine-tailed fox, but this one was pure red, its body glowing like molten energy. Fangs gleamed, eyes burned. If a certain ninja from the Leaf Village saw this, he'd probably scream, "Nine-Tails!"

The beast howled, a thunderous roar.

At Tenra's mental signal, the crimson fox charged. It leapt, colliding with the golden fox in a titanic clash.

Roars shook the battlefield.

Golden and crimson tails whipped, claws raked, two legends locked in a cross-dimensional brawl.

"You just got that Sacred Gear, and already you can wield Annihilation Maker like this?"

Cao Cao hovered opposite Tenra, eyes sharp with new respect.

"Maybe you're underestimating me in more ways than one. Ready to start, Cao Cao?"

Cao Cao smirked. "You sure? Summoning so many powerful beasts—you must be running low. Almost feels unfair."

"Don't worry. I saved enough for you."

"Confident to the point of arrogance. Don't disappoint me, Tenra Kamiyo."

Their gazes met—sparks flying.

Tenra and Cao Cao shot toward each other, the clash of heroes beginning as two nine-tailed foxes raged below.
